I seem to be getting told he's better than Barenboim and while I certainly wouldn't argue, I just couldn't think of another artist on that level as both a Pianist and a Conductor....just Barenboim, Ashkenazy, and Eschbach.
Thank you for uploading this. He has some interesting advice on conducting, but in general the master class does not really show a charismatic teacher communicating the beauty of music to his students. He comes across as somewhat gloomy and tired, rarely talking about what's going on in the music and often giving rather general advice, like listening to every note. Towards the first pianist he seemed overly harsh in the words he chose. Even famously harsh teachers like Elisabeth Schwarzkopf taught, at least in my opinion, in a much more inspiring and musical way and showed more interest in their students.
А по-моему, 1-ый пианист получил лучший урок в своей жизни. Он потом изучит это видео, сделает выводы и много вырастет по уровню. Это не светский приём, где всё приятно и прилично...
He does sound a bit harsh in his first comments but eventually he says some positive things. I have watched the 2 first parts entirely and I think you are correct, he gives good advice and teaches well on how to conduct. But that's what this is about, this masterclass is about "conducting from the piano". In all of these 3 conducting masterclasses he pretty much never gives any directive on the interpretation of the music, because it isn't his job in this class (he does one or two times say something in the lines of "here if I were you i would play it not like this, but i don't wanna tell you how to interpret this piece"). He is here to teach them how to communicate with the orchestra and I think he does it pretty well
Эти 3 видео являются лучшей школой для любых музыкантов. Гений даёт советы, как исполнять музыку.👏
muchas muchas gracias por compartir esos increibles momentos con Mikhail Vasilievich Pletnev.....🌹
"Every note he wrote must speak to your heart, to your brain, and then to the audience and orchestra." So true!!!
Мягкий культурный дипломатичный высокой культуры человек все в нем гармонично .Ай да умница вот это школа.
Pletnev....kind of the "Russian Barenboim" a world class Conductor AND Pianist.
Better!!!
He's the greatest pianist alive
He is just better than Barenboim
Way better than Barenboim!!
