    Is the 10” square you make does that fit a 10” frame? I made my design at 8” so should the frame be 8” also? You explain the process so well! Thank you!

      Hi Darlene, you'll want to measure the inner width of the frame you use. A 10" shadow box frame may have an inner width of 9.5" for example based on how thick the wood is. After you measure the shortest distance inside the frame, size the design on cricut design space accordingly - I recommend undersizing the design by 1/8" to make sure it isn't a super tight fit, which could cause the paper to bend. This file becomes the starting point for my designs, which can be adjusted to fit any size shadow box. Hope this helps!

    At 2:22 you mention press the command key. I'm confused as to what that is. I have been able to attach the top black box to my lines but am struggling with getting the bottom black box to attach as well. Suggestions?

      The key is different if you have a PC or Mac. I use a Mac, so there is a "command" button on the keyboard that when pressed will select multiple items. If you use a PC, use the "control" key on the keyboard. You can also click and drag your mouse over multiple items to highlight them together, however it will highlight anything in the area that the mouse drags over, rather than just a few specific items which is why I prefer the command or control key. Hope this helps!

    Thank you for the tutorial. At the beginning, you change the line operation from score to cut. But then at 3:25 you call them "score lines" and mention folding on the score. Is there a reason to not use the original Score operation and make 4 score lines 10 in long, rather than 28x4 cut lines 0.2 in? I'm sure your method works but I'm trying to understand the technique.

      Hi Angela, great question. The Score operation in circuit design space is designed to be used with a scoring stylus located in the same clamp the writing pen would go in, or if you have a cricut maker, you can use a scoring wheel. I don't have a score stylus or score wheel, so I have to use the cut option in order to create physical score lines in the cardstock. If you have the scoring stylus or wheel, then using the score line feature in the software absolutely works!

    how to you create the sides of the frame to put it all together and for the box?

    • @jessthings2807
      @jessthings2807  Před 2 lety

      Hi Leonela, the score lines that I start making at 2 minutes in this video will form the sides of the frame. Once this is cut on the cricut, fold along all the score lines for both sheets of paper to form the top and bottom of the box. The solid sheet forms the bottom, and the folded edges should fit inside the folded edges of the top sheet. I hot glue the corners together to keep the box tight.
