I think this is an amazing podcast format, something so different than the million other comic podcasts. A comic guest and a "civilian" guest whose life/career is of interest to the comic guest. To be funny and interesting AND unpredictable is compelling stuff.

Slept king has much more social awareness than he is given credit for. Yeah he's a comic but honorable guys like Gil implicitly demand respect simply by being there. Bobby realizes he is talking to a legit hero and a fascinating dude who comes from an incredibly serious line of work. So he is the Bobby Lee experience as much as he can be while also maintaining ultimate respect for Gil.

It's because he's with someone outside of the comedy world that he has immense respect for and someone who comes from a very serious line of work. Talk to a guy like Gil for 2 minutes and you would immediately feel the same way. These guys demand respect not with words or tone or ego but simply with the stories and knowledge they have to share. I feel the same way talking to military veterans, emergency room nurses and doctors, firefighters, etc.
Bobby just lights up the room. He's the perfect co-host to George. Nice to see Bobby like this too. And the guest, Gil, what a great story teller! Time flew by so fast
