Read the interview the LA Times did on Ralph... He actually ends up dissing Steve for what he said on the podcast about young comedians, and also for reaching out on IG to make himself look good for his fans. Ralph actually thinks Steve is lame for doing that.

George and Gil are letting their egos speak here. In any entertainment industry, who you now is viewed more important over what you know. As a DJ, I’ve been passed up for people who didn’t put in as much work, time, and effort in to the craft and it showed. I kept grinding and eventually, someone gave me a recommendation and I landed a residency at this venue that I always wanted. Steve was trying to highlight that point that he doesn’t help those who don’t help themselves. Sometimes individuals have the talent but don’t have the break. He’s just trying to do his part to embrace the new generations and give credit to where it’s due.
This is why Erik Estrada didn’t shake his hand 😂

I agree that everyone needs to help thieves, but there's also a midpoint where you CAN and should help others if you're in position to do so... but no one is required to.

George Lopez is not Mexican, he was not raised in a traditional Mexican family, he had no Mom and his grandmtother was very harsh. When people sign up to become rich and famous it's not required that they become Robinhood. It would be nice but it is not a requirement for the public and large to enjoy someones talent. He's Mexican-American born to a migrant father and a Mexican-American mother so he did have a mom by the way who chose to abandon him at around 10 years old. And for someone who isn't Mexican sure as fuck made a whole dam career about the life and experiences as one, in case you forgot he had HBO specials called America's Mexican and Tall,Dark & Chicano. Both titles alluding to his Mexican heritage.

Barbosa doesn't need George's help to make it, he's getting there on his own and with much less effort and in less time. Why? Because Barbosa is actually a good comedian and funny unlike George. When Trevino was showing love and giving recognition to Barbosa, George didn't have to say what he said all while looking around and asking others as to receive validation for what he said since Trevino was not giving it to him. That's what's receiving the backlash, he could of just said that he hadn't heard of him and asked why did Trevino feel that way about him. Not "no body heard who that motha fucker is, why you keep bringing his name up". Old washed up comedian with a big platform saying he doesn't believe in helping others basically then putting down up and coming young talented comedian which both happen to be of Mexican decent makes what I said valid. I first saw Steve in Corpus at Crazy Times Comedy Club. I met alot of cool, big comedians there. Lol Steve wasn't one of them, didn't make himself available to talk and meet the fans. So I didn't have the greatest opinion on him. But now........... EVERY YEAR he remembers me and makes it a point to talk to me at at Windfest in Portland. He's a good guy and I appreciate what he does. Happy to see him on today.

George and his friend/ guest go away back so he was like why are you talking so much about this kid worry about yourself first. The only thing I can say is that George probably should have said. I'll look into this new kid and let you guys know what I think about him but honestly he was just tired of his friend talking about him during the podcast .... I listen to the George Lopez podcast every Monday and I will still listen to him. This show inspires me. Gil also is awesome in this show.. stuff like this shouldn't bug people to much there are worse things out there that happen and people do horrible things and people film people being hurt instead of helping out and dropping that phone and assisting someone but they rather capture it on video for likes or to blow up. I will continue to support this podcast. George Lopez and Gil and the newcomers like comedians or new podcasters. Whatever is dope I'm into and I grew up listening to George and I'm okay tuning in to the new youngsters, comedians, artist and athletes 🙏💯

I just realized that George hates on all big Latino comedians. I mean, he's the biggest one, but he probably still feels threatened by him. Ralph is funny well known, Paul was a pioneer for Latino comedians. He said Paul became less funny than he was on his prime, but so did George. George isn't nearly as funny as he was in his prime. He's still a great tho. Stop hating on everyone George.
In regard to not helping others, doesn't George always brag about how Sandra Bullock helped him? He is just bitter because everyone is now talking about how he doesn't back up Raza. The only thing that means is the future comics are not going to mention him as a mentor.
George and Gil are old schoolers. That’s why I can’t be upset. They come from a generation that was much more harsher and saw very little progress in their work. Now Latinos and more unify more are going to school and more are opening businesses. It wasn’t like that in 70s-00s.
