- Takashi Yoshimatsu (吉松 隆) (1953) is a contemporary Japanese composer of classical music. He is well known for composing the 2003 remake of Astro Boy.
Takashi Yoshimatsu was born in Tokyo, Japan, and like Toru Takemitsu, the composer generally considered to be Japan's greatest in the western classical style, did not receive formal musical training while growing up. He dropped out of Keio University in March 1974, and joined an amateur band named NOA as a keyboard player, emulating the music of Pink Floyd. He became interested in the jazz and progressive rock scenes, particularly in the possibilities being explored through electronic music.
Guitar: Daria Semikina

Superbly played and such a haunting beautiful melody. Stayed in my head forever. Thank you
He really loved tree
An fyi for anyone curious, the English title is a mistranslation. The actual English should be something like "The Romance of the Sun Through the Trees"
thank you - that sounds more authentic
After all, despite of simplicity, a fine composition with some rhythmic inventions.
Beautfull piece, can you share It?
This could perfectly be a Pokemon Crystal song
wow this is actually playable on solo violin lol
It'd be cool to see that
@@migueleduardoescalantecris7512 aight i'll try to recover my shoulder and do a phone recording
I made an arrangement of this piece in style of *bossa nova*

Hope Takashi and the tree are happy, but this is just very sappy....
Nice video ! The playing is good but the tempo is so slow ! It should really be played faster (moderato = 108-120 bpm), Shin'ichi Fukuda's interpetation on CZcams is much better in that regard, in fact even the tempo he takes is too slow but i'd agree that 108-120 bpm is too fast given the atmosphere of this piece, so 90-100 bpm (which is approximately Fukuda's tempo) fits the piece well.
I get it, its a beautiful piece, but this amount of reverb really gets on my nerve.
"Romance for Tree"? What happened to the article "a" (or even a "the')? I thought only the Chinese e.g. Charlie Chan are the ones who leave out articles (and sometimes verbs) in a kind of clichéd pidgin English: ”Joy in heart more desirable than bullet,” says
Trite, simplistic, and repetitious. Thumbs down.

It's okay, you don't have to like it. Though if you'd like, you could listen to Yoshimatsu other compositions, since his Romance compositions are evidently very sentimental and doesn't owe much to technique, if that's what we're trying to describe. You could start with his "Memo Flora" piano concerto, which in my honest opinion is the best introduction to his works. You could also check out his compositions "And Birds are Still...", "Kiyomori" suite, alto saxophone concerto "Cyber Bird", and 1st and 5th symphonies. =)
Very relaxing
It's almost 5am and the rain has stopped here, and I've found this. It kinda makes me feel some kind of way
It kinda makes me feel some kind of way too: disgusted.
@@herbertwells8757 Why?
Very nice..
Bravo.
Somehow I keep feeling this piece will break into a nice bossa nova rhythm after the first few bars.
This is one of the few beautiful pieces that doesn't ruin itself that way :-P
@@dartme18 Bossa nova is quite nice too.
Alright, fellow, You gave me a good idea!
I'm going to make arrangement of this composition in style of bossa nova in one week
@David T ; @dartme18 ; @C K
I made it yesterday. I wanted to release it for Takashi Yoshimatsu's birthday, but I'm having trouble editing the video. Hopefully it'll come out one of these days.

Super ! :)
Jazzy little piece.
Ive got to learn how to play the tree now
superbe
Nostalgic from 70. Bossa nova. 3/4 is a tempo very sweet.
Not bossa nova.
Anyway I'm going to make arrangement of this composition in style of bossa nova in one week

tenes la partitura genio ?
si es asi , me podrias pasar ?
I misread and thought: "romance for tree and guitar?!"
Hola...donde puedo conseguir la partitura? Gracias. Es muy bonito
Hi, can you pls send me the score? this piece is so beautiful :')
Hello! Is it okay if i ask you to send me a sheet music pdf of this? Thanks a lot!
Can you do California Breeze by Andrew York for either a trio or quartet?
No, sorry. :( (because of copyright)
can i get a downloadable sheet music for this?
alguien tiene la paritura ?
I love how the english translation is so very much less poetic than the original Japanese title... the translation almost sounds stupid hahah
I can't read Japanese, but I imagine even "Romance for a Tree" could have been better.
Either way, the piece is beautiful, no matter the title
Yeah, it is a mistranslation. The actual English title should be something like "The Romance of the Sun Through the Trees." Back when Gendai Guitar first published the 1st edition of this complete work, they were...a little weak on some of the English titles they came up with.
not almost, it DEFINITELY sounds stupid
Can someone write this title in the original Japanese characters for me? I need it for my video. And I also want to mention that the title is not quite translated correctly.
@@leeDs718I think that Romance for Tree sounds really cute. I just imagine someone playing this to a tree. I think the tree would be happy with it.
Faça um vídeo de "Prelúdios Pitorescos" by Isaías Sávio 💪🏾 congrats by the channel
Soon! thank you
I’m almost done rearranging this song for guitar and full orchestra if you want me to send it to you when it’s done just reply
Would you post a link to a youtube video of it? I have no use for the score...
Where can I find the sheet music?
It's right there in the video ;-)
It reminds me a FF8 music
Breezy? I hear the similarities too as they're in the same key and both focus heavily on that Dmaj7 chord :)
@@nicholas72611 It reminds me the music of Fisherman horizon
Anyone can tell me the original name for this piece? Please
It's 木洩れ陽のロマンス Komorebi no Romance
The English title should be more accurately translated as "The Romance of Sun through the Trees", as one commenter had put it.
I dont play tree lol
Someone likes flat 6's
the voicing on the G min maj7 is not even remotely compatible with my Mickey Mouse hands
Try playing the G on the low E string. :)
