It's like when someone rudely says that being gay is a "choice". My best friend (a lesbian) and I will scowl at them and say, "Oh, really? So when did you make the choice to be heterosexual?" They usually either immediately shut their mouths and walk away or stammer through saying "Well, uh... I didn't... but...." before retreating. Sadly, it's difficult to teach tolerance to people who have the need to hate others sort of socially encoded into their brain. Women are programmed to put each other down and men are taught the notion that women owe them something. Kids learn to hate from their parents and environment because we're all born free of that taint on the soul.

jade bethel yeah, where is Kris Allen? After the first year after that season of idol, I never heard his name again, and it was very very rarely that I heard it in that first year. I have a feeling he had far far less fans than Adam Lambert, and probably many of the other contestants like Allison Iraheta. It doesn’t matter though, because Adam is doing really well, he writes really good songs ( my secret love is the song “Broken Open”) and his albums are great.
It's actually the usual pattern for the winners to fade off the radar while people who were runners up or made it into the semi-finals go on to gain some sort of fame doing their own thing. The worst thing about winning Idol is they basically own you for a while after the finale and you have to do what they want you to do rather than being able to branch off to do your own thing. That state of being chained to the corporate beast and doing only what they want can really burn people out to the point they really don't want to perform anymore. Some just give up on the idea of chasing big-time fame and focus more on making quality art that they love and are proud of. Sometimes that just doesn't mesh up with the fame construct because it can be contrary to what music companies try to push to the public.
In Adam's case, as soon as he was free of his contractual obligations with Idol, he focused more on his music and less on fame. That's when we got to see what Adam had been itching to do for a long time. But fame was inevitable. He's a powerhouse showman and the Glamberts love him for it. Even listening to his studio albums some people can feel this odd sort of connection to him. He can be quite enthralling, very much like the bards of old who transfixed their audiences with songs and tales of the things they've seen in their travels. Adam has phenomenal talent; for me, that's all I could wish for in a performer. I won't lie and say I don't think he's hotter than a Carolina Reaper pepper. However, I will say, "Dammit! All the hot and interesting ones are gay or taken!" LOL (Not that I have a chance at hot guys anyway since I'm no beauty queen. * snicker *) Seriously, though, it's the talent and his very active mind that draw me to him more than anything. It really annoys me when people try to put Adam down as "not Freddie". As Adam himself has said, "Well, no shit! Of course I'm not Freddie. There was only one and he was a god while I'm just a lowly performer who pays tribute to him." Personally I agree with Brian and Roger. I think Freddie would have both liked and been jealous of Adam had they ever met.

Stop comparing the two singers, both Freddie and Adam gave soul to the songs that's why they are both loved by so many. As Adam have said and I quote; He would not be at this state if there was no Freddie mercury that inspired him. Adam lambert was not a replacement for Freddie Mercury, he is simply the continuation of the Legacy that Queen had created over the past decades.
Nobody in thus world should be allowed to compare the. There's no way. They have tiny similarities but they are so different. And to me, equally talented. The music industry is worse than it used to be in the past and Adam has a lot of issue with the producers. What they mentioned in this video is probably...15% of his situation.

Freddie Mercury was gay. But Queen had millions upon millions of fans and still does. Queen was, is and always will be one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Freddie Mercury can never be replaced but Adam Lambert does an excellent job. Why should peoples' sexual orientation matter these days? It shouldn't.
The Middle America media- that's what nearly sidelined his career that blurred kiss- he called them out on it cause they put up Spears kiss. Also, America never had a mainstream out gay artist like Adam before on a mainstream level. (he started out, out, and did not hid it, he was open from the get go.
It still matters only because there are still people who are full of hate and who have false ideas concerning homosexuality/homosexuals. We have politicians who are working to create legislature restricting the rights of LGBT citizens, striving to make discrimination against gay people legal and acceptable. As long as there are regressive, ignorant haters, it will still matter.

I researched it and wrote a book about it years ago, "American Idol Vote Scam". Not only did Idol know about the cheating, they tried to destroy Adam's career to cover it up. Adam would have won, but Kris Allen's home town teamed up with an AT&T executive who was an alumni at his school and by power texting and blocking Adam;s votes, they won by cheating. They cheated all season, Adam should have won and Danny should have come in second.

Just saw QAL in NOLA this week. It was a fantastic show/concert. Adam is simply adorable and seems to be beautiful inside and out. He is very articulate in interviews and appears to completely love life and all that he has accomplished. Just go to the concert with an open mind and appreciation for the effort and hard work that all of the band members have given to make this possible. It is a new twist on the "old Queen" which is appealing to the younger generation. Brilliant! Please come back to NOLA!!

Are we going to leave out the fact that the Queen guys wanted him fresh off of Idol and Adam turned them down? That's how keen they were for Adam to join them but he wanted to do his own music plus he had to finish his commitments to idol. (Although maybe Queen would have paid them off for that idk.) It wasn't just a coincidence they came back together, they kept in touch and they knew Adam was their man. Adam isn't Freddie, and he's never ever tried to be.

Sadly, that AMA performance kind of blacklisted him in the States. He did a very intimate club tour after that and very few people even knew about it because he couldn't get on the air anywhere to promote it. I only found out about it because I have a news alert tag for him that sends me links when anything about him appears online. We also set our DVR to record anything related to him. It was only when he performed with Queen that they would allow him on television. Now, though, he's getting tagged for some pretty prestigious gigs. It's like flipping off the homophobes and prudes who could handle two women kissing on stage but lost their shit over two guys kissing and a bit of overt sensuality. I really got pissed when all the local stations quit playing his music altogether when they'd previously been playing one of his songs almost every hour.

haha, yup for the past decade he's been on tour the whole time. He has his documentary on April 29. He's popular internationally. For the most part- more with the media. That's why the sales doesn't matter to him, he is more about the creativity. NEW music has been dropped, and more too come in MAY. Album to drop this year. :)

I had such a crush on him when he first won AI & still think he's very handsome.
If you've been his fan since his Idol days then you would know that he didn't win and was runner up (it was even covered in the video). Despite not winning Adam has become either the 3rd or 4th most successful person to come off Idol.

haha I know we want to say that, but we can't. He is historic imo. (check his second album- it is HISTORIC). But most don't know he made music history.. lol It REALLY tends to go over peoples heads....XD so so sad lol Doesn't get credit.. can't wait for documentary.
It doesn't matter whether Adam is gay, bi, or straight. I have been a fan since american idol. I was so pissed off when he didn't win. I knew there had to be some interference. Adam is an AMAZING artist and performer. I am looking forward to seeing him in concert someday. I really was hoping to be able to see him in the Bohemian Rhapsody Tour with Queen. Unfortunately i didn't have enough money to make it, but i have seen his performance on that tour on CZcams and it was fantastic! I always knew from seeing him on American Idol that he would continue to grow as an artist! Keep up the great work Adam!!!!
The problem is that American Idol lied, Arkansas produced 38 million votes. About 3,000 people voted 10,000 times each. The votes did change the outcome. Read my book, "American Idol Vote Scam".

I had wanted Adam to win Idol but he would've been stuck in contract of playing music they picked. It's a better outcome for him. Strange thing is has the winner of Idol actually recorded anything or become famous as several other winners have? I've loved Adam's music ever since Idol and he deserves all the accolades he receives whether it be with Queen or doing his own music.
