To rotate really fast in a T-34 (and most Soviet tanks), don't just turn from a standing start. Instead, accelerate forward about half a tank length, then turn. This can cut the turn time by about half.
I noticed this too but I think this applies to most tanks
that's like basic knowledge even a 9yearold realizes after playing the game for 5 minutes but thanks for the useless and overly obvious tip.
Yea! True

Well stop talking and shift harder!

Why we moving slow?? Shift cyka, shift!
Xaxaxa very easy win debil.
put some glorious vodka to that god damn transmission grease
You both if failed I'll send you all to gulag
With every second M4 gathers momentum, the pull for the T-34 becomes harder and harder. I wonder what would let loose first a tarmac ripped with nasty T-34 tracks or M4's rubber pads burned. Apart from this being full legit Type 58, we have to separate WW2 time T-34/85 from post-war T-34/85 because these two are thoroughly different machines.

Can we truly appreciate that ALL Soviet tanks up to T-72 had no other reverse than service type 3km/h. This is made for the "not a step back" policy, mechanical, and weight savings. But this is still a Type 58 tank, not a T-34/85.
@@HanSolo__ trashreverse in issue of transmission, boi, not of any politics
@@raketny_hvost Who do you call "boi"? Its an effect of the offensive character of the Soviet Armored Forces. it's doctrinal for such an army. Not political as you said. The issue is that the reverse in speed costs a lot of mechanical and engineering effort, even more in production, waaaay more in this scale of manufacturing, adds to the tank weight so further costs and as a side effect allows the crews to pull back. And this side effect is the MOST important out of mentioned when it comes to the Soviet General Command. As well as Syrian, Egyptian, Chinese, Iraq and many, many more. And no it is not a simple transmission issue.

If you’re actually being fair with the HE test you should have shot the front hull of the T-34. The Sherman is weak to the trap shot and the T-34 upper hull is weak
Hitting the hull is also an easier shot to make.
I mean the strongest part of the M4A3's front is its turret mantlet, same with the T-34. Driver's hatch doesnt count
@@milesperhour9256 however against HE you shouldn’t be aiming at a specific weak spot on one and then at the worst possible spot on another

@@pauntum It's because the t-34 has a weird bounce armour, but yeah mostly die in one hit as it should
Well remember that there is 90mm of armour in the turret and that the hull was far away from the point of impact.
Yep... like Russian steel slick tracks outpulling a heavier Sherman with rubber pad tracks on dry tarmac. Lol.
@@cuhurun well a lighter tank can pull a heavier one if it's weight is distributed more with the ground right. If you got more surface area with the floor then it will be able better turn that engine power into motion. And the T 34 85 has thicker tracks plus a beefly engine.
Does war thunder model Rubber tracks? I don't think so. Could be wrong, this is purely a guess. I am just begging a question.
Do Rubber tracks even help with traction on asphalt? I don't think so, and I legitimately don't think so. Rubber tracks reduce the amount of sound the tracks make when hitting the asphalt as well as reduce the damage to the asphalt but doesn't improve the performance. It apparently does off-road but the T 34 85s has significantly thicker tracks. If you have evidence for rubber tracks performing better than steel on asphalt then I would appreciate a source.
M4 with add-on armor is 0.7 t heavier.
Wow, there actually is a grip coefficient in WT!

@@ghostman7817 hang on a second "much more mass produced" my bollix. The Russians had produced more t34s than the Americans did shermans. From what I have been reading the Americans produced about 50,000 shermans next to (Brace yourself) 84,070 t 34s.
Artillery: Shooting barrel three times

One year ago the sherman was faster than both the t34 and the panther because it had a 50hp more
Don’t forget that going past 3rd gear on a t 34 requires the strength 5 demigods fueled by vodka
However in an actual battle the Sherman can usually get the first shot, with its stabilizer. They can pen each other's UFPs as well, and usually a one-shot
Zzz
However in actual battle, tank duels are too rare.
T-34 is the overall better tank according to the tank trinity, but M4 has a few aces upon its sleeve which can be game changers.
objectively false, the T-34 throughout it's life was cramped and reduced crew efficiency. It's also less reliable, has worse gun handling, and only marginally better mobility to make up for it.
@@bones-fe3gy You only prove my point lmao
@@friedyzostas9998 how is me describing how the Sherman was both a better design and a better vehicle prove your point
@@bones-fe3gy T-34 is the better tank in tank trinity: armour, firepower and mobility. But if you would know something about tanks in the slightest, you would agree with me that the trinity isn't enough to make well performing vehicles. The flaws that you just enumerated prove my point.
@@friedyzostas9998 it *doesn't have better firepower.* The Soviet 85mm gun and it's derivations have worse accuracy and equal penetration to the M1 76mm, and the T-34-85 suffered from such an increase in weight that it's mobility is essentially a match for the Sherman's. I'm autistic as shit so I've studied this for years.
Сила дедов!!!
T-34 was harder to destroy by HE by shooting its turret is because right under its turret is completely angled. There is no flat surface for the explosion shock to penetrate through. The Sherman has the weakness because it has low top down armor and it is flat under the turret.
i am very afraid of shooting a Sherman's hull because of the jumbo experience so i always get the jumbo and the 76 shermans mixed up alot of times
Keep in mind the t34 was a very snappy suspension
And fragile
Much cheaper though
And designed by an American.

hi steel nice do the tiger 1 vs strv
I want to know the title of the bgm played at1:19 . Please tell me it anyone .
The one time a Soviet tank out-reverse speed something.
Interestingly, the higher acceleration Shermans gave them the advantage at first, but over time the T-34-85s won thanks to their stronger engines despite slower acceleration.
Actually they both have 500hp engines, but Sherman has better acceleration because it uses a gasoline engine while T-34 uses a diesel engine.
I love even saying this you compared what everyone else compares the armor, mobility, but not really firepower or shoot on the move capabilities, yes the Sherman is slower and its armor not as effective but its the first tank with a stabilizer (kind of). At least to me because that 85 isnt really used by Russia that much in game where as the 76 is used from 3.3 till 6.3 so to me you can master the 76 much easier then the 85 which is only on a select few tanks. Either way I was entertained so great video dude
Both Panthers and t34 feel more like medium tanks and yet shermans have a charm
Panther feels like a heavy tank if you’d ignore it’s mobility.
The Sherman’s rubber pads on the tracks should have enough grip to pull the 34, maybe wt just doesn’t have them coded in
Nice

Kinda curious which tank wins out in an IRL battle. Since things like reliability, quality of components, or getting stuck in mud arent things to worry about in war thunder

Reliability = T-34 wins however Sherman is easier to repair and the american troops had more access to repair parts.
