On the feast day of Corpus Christi 2014, Saint Mary Cathedral hosted a procession through the streets of downtown Austin and into the Texas State Capitol, offering their most precious gift for the good of all and asking God's Blessing upon all the people of Texas.

That's beautiful my life revolve around christ and Mary .I live for them and especially the Holy Eucharist. Amen.

I was going to mention the same. Wearing a biretta when carrying the Blessed Sacrament is absolutely NOT "trad." Hard fail.

Very nice procession. However, you never wear a Beretta while carrying the Blessed Sacrament! And you never give Eucharistic benediction with your head covered. Really, just a little bit over-the-top!

Quite a few are. We had a second annual Corpus Christi procession of the three parishes of San Benito. We start at an outlying church and process to the mother church in the downtown area. We also hold a joint Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe at the bandstand in the park. And on Good Friday Stations of the Cross around the resaca in the park. Is your parish that visible with the faith?

Any priest who wishes to wear the biretta may do so.
Bishops wear zuchettos which they remove during the consecration.
Priests can wear birettas but most weren't properly trained in when and how.
Give them a break for trying to bring back what was lost.

It's called a monstrance. It is used for exhibition of the Body of Christ. The idea is that the bread and wine of the Eucharist become the Body and Blood of Christ. How that happens is understood differently in different denominations. Romans consider it one way, Orthodox another, Lutherans yet another, and Anglicans another way again. The important part is that they all believe in one way or another that Jesus is present in the Eucharist.
A monstrance is a suitably grand place to put consecrated bread, essentially the Body of Christ, in order to venerate it. So, for Catholics, what you're seeing here is literally Jesus being carried through the streets of Austin.
