Thank you so much for this tutorial. My earbud is now charging again. I just have the problem now, that the casing opens too easily at the seam now. Any type of glue you can recommend to reseal it? Quick tip for anyone attempting this themselves: If you don't have a "fancy" battery case like in the video or another 4.5V - 5V power source, you can just put the batteries in series (positive pole on negative) and tape them together. This should additively up the voltage.
@@mattolika I used the wires of my multimeter. Although one end of these cables had recessed contacts. I just used some aluminum foil to get in there and connect up these to the battery poles. I used the pointy contacts for probing on the headphones.
Welp, just used this video and a hacked up USB cable for a stable 5v supply and jump started an earbud successfully (if a little too melty for getting too close to that heat gun). So thanks!
This worked for me. I used a 9v and juiced my earbud for a minute which got me just over 3v on the earbud. That was enough to get it to charge in the case. I got the earbud housing open just by gently prying with my thumbnail. Awesome video. Thank you.
Great video, thank you! I had the same issues and fixed the problem exactly as instructed. However, I think I might have put too much "heat" when dissembling, because now the upper part of the casing is going out very easy. Any suggestions how to fix it - should I use instant glue or is there another way?!
Thank you It worked!!!!!!!! Both ear buds is working again !!! Hey man! How much heat did it take you to open them up? and what did you use to make that? planning on trying this fix hopefully to wake them up.Thanks for the fix man truly a life saver!
Hi. Thanks for sharing. Will this remove the water resistance in the earbud? I think yes because the glue was removed. Do you think we can glue again to keep the water resistance for the earbud?
I didn’t expect to have to do this to a pair of earbuds costing nearly £300 after only 13 months, but it worked a treat, thank you. What glue would you recommend for holding the case together afterwards?
I WANT TO THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF NY MY HEART FOR WHAT COULDVE BEEN A $200 WASTE OF MONEY ❤ But serious talk, why did this happened at all? Is there a preventative action? Like, not leaving earbuds out for too long? I dont understand why this happen.
I have the same problem. Both of earbuds just stopped working. Last time they were pretty low and I didnt charge them for days and now they do not react at all. And these are my second earbuds that I am goind to bring back...insane..
I just tried this but fell at the first fence: I just could not get the earbuds open at all after heating with a hair drier! The hair drier even overheated and gave up. What kind of temperature and how long does the earbud need heating?
I picked up a problem with my set today. The light case shows "green" meaning they are fully charged but when I want to use them my smart control app shows they are only on 20% battery life any Idea what I can do ? Edit: they are only being in use for two months now

It works , thanx, left was all dead and ad 10% but made no connection , no lights , but now it turns on again and make connection and play sounds , for now it only charge to 80% but I let it on the power for a while to see if it goes up till 100
Awesome 👍
Great job bro. But i’d rather return mine (both not working) and claim warranty. Thanks!
Are you based in the US? How long does it take for them to fix it and ship it back?
It worked!!!, 🎉 thank you very much!
Fixed my issue. Took a few goes to yo get Battery volt up( no meter) keep trying!!!
Still not impressed with how often a premium product having such a common problem.
God bless you man! Thank you very much for sharing this solutionn
Thanks a lots. It work and save my both earbuds.
Awesome 👍
Thank you so much for posting this
Anytime 😏
Thank you for sharing this, it worked for me.
Awesome 👍
Great fix! Worked a treat! Thank you!
And Sennheiser, get your act together.
Or is this even part of the design? Hmmm…
What wires did u use to touch the poles to the earphones? 🙏
@@mattolika I used the wires of my multimeter. Although one end of these cables had recessed contacts. I just used some aluminum foil to get in there and connect up these to the battery poles. I used the pointy contacts for probing on the headphones.
Great video!! It saved me!!
Thanks man ! this is it !
Good job 👏
Thanks a lot. It's working now :)
you are a hero
Thank You!
Welp, just used this video and a hacked up USB cable for a stable 5v supply and jump started an earbud successfully (if a little too melty for getting too close to that heat gun). So thanks!
Excelente ajuda... considerava meu fone perdido e sua ajuda em compartilhar a informação foi ótima . Obrigado
Спасибо тебе, друг! Ты крут!
Thank you so much, it’s really works,
Anytime👍
Thank you!
This worked for me. I used a 9v and juiced my earbud for a minute which got me just over 3v on the earbud. That was enough to get it to charge in the case. I got the earbud housing open just by gently prying with my thumbnail. Awesome video. Thank you.
I sent mine back to the manufacturer. Hopefully they fixed them.
Great video, thank you! I had the same issues and fixed the problem exactly as instructed. However, I think I might have put too much "heat" when dissembling, because now the upper part of the casing is going out very easy. Any suggestions how to fix it - should I use instant glue or is there another way?!
You’re a lifesaver
Just done this to mine initially 0.71vdc 3x aaa batteries taped together and shock charged to 3.6vdc and this bought the left bud back to life 😎
Awesome 👍
Love all the helpful words to help us all!💩🥴🤔
Does anybody know which hole is positive/negative? I want to try without taking it apart first.
Thank you It worked!!!!!!!! Both ear buds is working again !!! But its not sealed its loose what did you use to stick it again sir?
@sennheiser pls fix this issue your product is expensive yet your product is like china made but with good audio quality. Poor QC ypu should fix this. This is the first and last sennheiser product that i will buy.
Great video man :D
Could you please do a video about replacing the battery when they finally died or stop working ?
Which battery should one get that suits the MTW 3 ?
Sure.. I don't have the tools to replace the battery yet.
@@alexv3311 okay what kind of tools/ toolkit would you recommend ? maybe i need to order the same...
Fixed!!! BTW I used a usb cable insteand of batteries.
Can you share how? On the move and found one of the had died, want to get it fixed with minimal equipment
It worked perfectly
I used 9 v. battery
Hey man! How much heat did it take you to open them up? and what did you use to make that? planning on trying this fix hopefully to wake them up.Thanks for the fix man truly a life saver!
Heat gun or ordinary hair dryer also work. Put some heat until you feel it's easy to open.
Damn i did not expect them to ever work again but they are fixed!! Thanks a lot man,and also did your pair of momentum 3 ever got any problem after?
Hi. Thanks for sharing. Will this remove the water resistance in the earbud? I think yes because the glue was removed. Do you think we can glue again to keep the water resistance for the earbud?
Thanks to you, I was able to re-animate my TW3 and also even older TW2! Amazing guide! Thanks!
I didn’t expect to have to do this to a pair of earbuds costing nearly £300 after only 13 months, but it worked a treat, thank you. What glue would you recommend for holding the case together afterwards?
great video thanks for that! wish these awesome headphones wernt so dumb!
I WANT TO THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF NY MY HEART FOR WHAT COULDVE BEEN A $200 WASTE OF MONEY ❤
But serious talk, why did this happened at all? Is there a preventative action? Like, not leaving earbuds out for too long? I dont understand why this happen.
I'd also like to know if there's a preventative step we could take, besides manually checking the charge levels every 12 hours...
Thank Alex, It can fixed without remove the cover?
I have the same problem. Both of earbuds just stopped working. Last time they were pretty low and I didnt charge them for days and now they do not react at all. And these are my second earbuds that I am goind to bring back...insane..
I just tried this but fell at the first fence: I just could not get the earbuds open at all after heating with a hair drier! The hair drier even overheated and gave up. What kind of temperature and how long does the earbud need heating?
It's apply if the earbud that doesn't charge it gets hot at the moment that it get in the case?
Спасибо, помогло.
I just did it! Worked! If you were here I would kiss you!!! Thanks!
Music is pretty cool to.
Thanks 👍
Do you have to open the earbud? Can you not connect the 4.5V to the terminals?
Thanks!
what a piece of junk these things are. left em on a shelf for a year and they dont even turn on anymore, but they show as charging on the case.
Yea same thing thats happening with mine
Mine same but only for a few days
Same thing.....
Same
Same
I was able to ressurrect the right bud, but the left one will not work. Is battery replacement an option?
Sorry but what tools do you use to charge it up/?
does the Problem recur after the procedur? I have this Problem with my 3rd Momentum 3, every time with the right earbud...
I picked up a problem with my set today.
The light case shows "green" meaning they are fully charged but when I want to use them my smart control app shows they are only on 20% battery life any Idea what I can do ?
Edit: they are only being in use for two months now
