Fascinating idea
Shawn is a great creative producer an mixer. Other option for match the Shawn technique is using the ISOL 8 free plugin from TB pro audio that's solo the 5 bands, plus mono, Stereo, left and right channel isolation
Well, I will deffo try this! I tried recording a few of my songs and the very first comment I got was "sounds amateurish" lol.
That's the beauty of the Mastering The Mix plugin, Reference.

Hoping someone knows offhand: was this in the Brittany Howard videos? Those were his first for MwTM, I think. There's 5 or 6 Shawn mixes on their system now...
