    Been using this setup on track for over a year now and love it. Note - you don’t need the lug-centric rings. When the wheel is bolted on, it applies force and the rotor doesn’t shift.

    You said you replaced the spindles to install these calipers. What difference do the spindles make? Calipers don't bolt up to the spindles? The brake calipers bolts on to the knuckle. Please explain.

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 3 lety +1

      The knuckle and spindle is one piece on the civic, the lower trim civics like the dx have a smaller brake setup and the caliper bracket on the spindle/knuckle is smaller then the integra, civic si or ex models. So to put a bigger caliper on you need to upgrade to a spindle with the bigger caliper mount

      That would defeat the purpose of the upgrade, you can use those calipers but you wouldn’t need to run the Mini Cooper rotors. The reason you run the Mini Cooper rotors because itr rotors are 5 lug and and the Mini Cooper rotors are 4 lug and very close in size to the itr rotor

  • @toki89666
    @toki89666 Před 3 lety

    I'm wondering if this would be worth it on my EJ1. ("EG" coupe EX) as mine has the largest factory civicbrakes already, the 10.3" rotors.
    I went with Brembo blank rotors, Hawk HPS pads and StopTech stainless braided lines and it made a huge difference, I did this at the same time as my rear disc conversion, same upgrades as the front to the rear.
    I did not swap the prop valve, been daily driving it for 3 years since the brake upgrade and haven't noticed any issues.
    Most EGs came with the 13/16 master cylinder but mine has the 7/8. I'm still thinking about getting a 91 Sedan EX master though as its 15/16.
    Just now this week my rear pads are worn out after 3 yrs. I find it odd they went before the fronts did, fronts still at about 30% pad remaining.
    So if anything I'm thinking the 4030 prop valve sends TOO MUCH fluid to the rear and the 4040 upgrade actually reduces fluid to rear.

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 3 lety +1

      Being that you already have the bigger spindle upgrading it would be very simple and cost less. As far as your rear wearing out before the front, that’s odd considering the front does most of the braking.

    Hi. I have a question. Are you running the ITR brakes on front and GS-R brakes on rear? If so, how stable do you feel your car when you brake strongly from high speed (does the rear of the car tend to move side by side or shake)? Let´s say, about 80mph. I´d appreciate any information.

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 4 lety

      Itr front and civic si rear might be the same as integra rear but not sure. Never had an issue like that while breaking even at 100+. Maybe look into your suspension, I had a issue similar to that because my trailing arm bushings were broken

    • @Arsenthall
      @Arsenthall Před 4 lety

      @@ChrisBuilt92 Thanks for your reply. I´m currently planning to install ITR front brakes on my Civic EX due to the brake fade caused by a quick temperature raise (relatively speaking) , and keep the GS-R or SI rear brakes that I´ve installed already, but, ITR rear brake parts are considerably bigger (especially the brake pads), and I´m concerned about the braking balance when cornering, that´s why. Oh well, I´ll try that setting and see what happens lol. I´m currently using energy bushings on trailing arm, and have no any stability issue btw.

    I don’t get it, if your using itr calipers and the spindles, why are u using Mini Cooper rotors and rsx pads, why can’t u just use all integra parts, or all Mini Cooper parts, or all rsx. Why do u have to mix it all up like that

    • @ChrisBuilt92
      @ChrisBuilt92  Před 3 lety

      Intergra type r is 5 lug, most people are using a 4 lug setup so that’s where the Mini Cooper rotor comes in, the rotor is a different size then what the itr rotor would be so that’s why we use the tsx pads. You could use an entire integra type r setup but that would require you to run 5 lug wheels, plus itr setups are big money. Hence why this is a “budget brake setup “
