- Nice improvement here. Original broadcast was VERY dark with washed-out color. Was pretty noisy as well. Used Topaz to upscale and clean the picture. Adjusted contrast and brightness a great deal using Resolve, while also injecting color. The audio was SUPER low - used Audacity to amplify it as much as possible without distorting it. You can see some before/after screenshots here -- imgbox.com/g/T2I8lpDVVH -- my thanks to romelovesdan for providing the DVD files used for this project
I could get lost in your CZcams channel, it's my childhood on youtube!! My favorite CZcams channel
It's amazing to see this with an older man's eyes!

You have done an excellent job as always, my friend!
Thanks for posting a Colts game...too bad Bert was out again due to injuries 😢
Lots of Roman Gabriel-related content on this channel since his recent death. Very timely and appropriate releases, Dave.
I love baseball or football games that have baseball fields there's something nostalgic about that for
I miss football games on baseball fields forever gone 😢
Good, I always hated that.
This game felt like two ships passing in the night
The Eagles were on the rise, Baltimore shockingly was on a descent
Insightful comment- perfectly stated
Damn - Bert Jones is hurt!…..great job Dave - upgraded video quality!
Thanks for this upgrade Dave. I know Ted Marchibroda's daughter and I sent her the link. She says she enjoyed viewing it and even knew Roman Gabriel from the days when her dad was an assistant coach with the Rams!
Awesome Chris!
It sure is a shame about what happened to the Colts in 1978. I was a huge Cowboys fan in those days and I also was a small fan of the Colts and I was hoping that they would have a big year. But the injuries and trades ruined the season😢.
This was great to watch again after so many years!
I remember watching this game back in the day. Go Eagles!
Bert Jones was a potential HOFer but injuries and a drunken owner did him in.
Just phenomenal
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks great
Thank you
Fantastic!
I am sure that this game was blacked out in baltimore!
Lol it’s a myth that Baltimore fans always turn out. As a huge Colts, Bullets, and Orioles fan, the teams struggled except for the Colts from the late ‘50’s through the 60’s. The Orioles were the classiest and winningest act in baseball from the late ‘50’s to the mid ‘80’s and they often struggled to draw a million fans in pennant winning seasons. The ‘70 AFC Championship game-the NFL’s very first-was not a sellout and I believe that it was also blacked out.
The Ford automobile commercial at 6:34 invokes the phrase “road car” no less than five times. Are there any mainline automobiles which cannot be used on the road? Additionally, one would expect that one would also be able to use any so-called “off road” automobiles on the road as well. (The Ford automobile was named after Mr. Henry Ford of Detroit, Michigan, who pioneered the assembly method of automobile manufacturing.)
Joe Washington was a great running back. What happened to Bert Jones?
Separated shoulder from a hit by Lion Al Baker in the final preseason game. Jones didn't play till week 7 and only saw action in 3 games total

The game sure has changed. All that money they have poured into players has meant making sure they protect their investment by having more comfortable stadiums and fields that are much safer than the ones of the multi-purpose stadiums of the 1950s-1990s
Today's stadiums have the personality of dental offices
The fake grass in just about every stadium sure ain't good for the players.
I prefer THIS time - I don’t watch the NFL now
It’s garbage IMO : what comfort ??? Outside of medical facilities: the fields really aren’t much better outside of getting rid of ASTROTURF ….. grass !!! Or dirt - the NATURAL ground
@@backbay2242 There actually were the same amount of fake grass stadiums in 78 as there are today with less teams. 15 turf fields in 78 with only 28 teams
Better era for football for sure.
I can't watch anymore nowadays the Kaepernick debacle and the woke NFL has taken my passion for my team Green Bay Packers and the league 8n general
They commercialized the sport and now watered down.
Frank Caliendo in the middle
Oh this should be cool 😎
Keep it up DAVE !!!!
It’s sad that there are so few AFC games from the 70’s out there
I love what you find and enhance!!!
