As a lifelong cowboys fan there's no team I hated more than the Philadelphia eagles to this day I still despise them and this game here was when I knew Dallas was going to win the super bowl when they won this game they had beaten us earlier in the year but if you go back to that game earlier in the year that 30 to 7:00 Monday night game Dallas put up like 450 yards of offense in that game they went up and down the field so they had figured Philadelphia out they just kept bubbling around and making mistakes and I knew the tide was turning and when we beat them here I knew we was on our way to the super bowl though I was worried about Buffalo to be honest lol and I'm not just saying that I was actually afraid of the Buffalo bills back then because I knew I know people like to knock them but that was a hell of a football team and I kept thinking they're going to win one of these times and when we got them in the super bowl I was so worried there's no way they'll lose three in a row That's what I thought lol I was so afraid we would lose to them
This was a HUGE win for Dallas at the time. They hadn't won a non-strike home game vs. Philly since 1985 (they won vs. them in 1987, but that was a strike/scab game)
Lin Elliott really tried to give the game away to the Eages because the Cowboys were really that much better. It also showed that the death of Jerome Brown in the 92 off season really hurt the Eagles defense. Emmitt was the first 100 yard rusher against the Eagles in a long time. They just didn't have that run stuffer in the middle which Jerome Brown was. The Cowboys would go on to dominant the Eagles and beating them in 2 divisional playoff games. The Cowboys that season were rising and showed the NFL that they were no pushovers anymore.
The banner on the thumbnail reminded me of Philidelphia cream cheese. - Mix a brick of cream cheese (softened) with a box of pudding to make a quick and easy cheesecake filling.
Dallas' SI retrospective publication emphasized that the Eagles here were no longer the intimidating juggernaut that routed the Cowboys in Week 3, 31-7. Probably, Dallas also had all the motivation and sharpened teeth that comes with losing to them so badly on MNF. Come playoff time, the cherry on the sundae, a 34-10 plucking!
pathetic that the eagles had that defense for 5-6 years and couldnt put an adequate offense together with it. me and a bunch of fantasy football nerds could have put a better offense together with just free agents that no one else wanted any more. sad and weak.
Thank you Madden and Summerall for so many classic games. 💙
John Madden is surely missed, he surely was the best commentator, Thanksgiving day and the turkey leg
These were the good ol days !!

@@jwvvvv I said non strike HOME game. Philly won at Texas Stadium early in 91
The day the tide turned.

Great clarity!
Great clarity, I don't remember this game, I thought I seen them
@@joeolivas2406 this game I recall was joined in progress by CBS as the doubleheader game. A good portion of the 1st Q was missing with many copies.

Erik Williams !!
He was great. One of my favorite players.
