  • One of the easiest things you can do is learn how to tailor your dress shirts BUT that might not be enough. You can measure and pin the body of the shirt as well as the sleeves, but you might still have a big problem. You might still look like a flying squirrel in your shirt.

    This video is perfect for the problem I have been having...... but I'm not sure exactly where I would start measuring from. Where would I put a protractor, would it be on the inside of the shirt, outside, side of the shirt. You made the instructions pretty clear, but I'm just a bit confused.( BTW thank you so much for the sewing videos!!!😀 I have been picking up lots of trick's from your videos.)

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  Před 5 lety +1

      Don't overthink it too much even though it's easy to do. You don't even really need a protractor, just look at whatever angle that is on it and use that. You even have a tolerance of a few degrees too, it doesn't have to be precise.

      @@StylishDTailors Hey new subscriber here, I love your stuff. But I think the question still stands. Whether it's 45 or 50+ degrees the points that you end the side and arm seam really aren't clear. Should you make that angle at the last 10% of the arm length? last 25%? The angle is handy but the beginning/end points still aren't clear.

    LOL this fkn weather man..
    But yea, 50/45 degrees close enough lol. 45 is the more common degree people will usually say.
    I screwed up so many times around the armpit area it was pissing me off. But will definitely try the 50 degree trick.
    Random tidbit of the day, 45 degree is like the best angle for a trajectory. So one might think throwing a football at 45 degrees will go the furthest but noooope. Usually people flat bench more than an incline press so it'd be less than 45 degrees is the golden angle when throwing a ball lol. So like 35/40 degrees maybe? Dunnno
    Lol hey do you have a trick for pinning so that you pull it downwards AWAY from the machine? Lol I always confuse myself and just say "fk it" then when I get to the machine all the excess fabric gets bunched up on the right side LOL, and then regret my decision.

    • @sixstrings29
      @sixstrings29 Před 5 lety +1

      Should be around 35 degrees, but it depends on how much air resistance there is, so give or take a couple of degrees (also, I kinda remember that I once read it was 33 degrees.. but I am not sure). The 45 degrees angle is the best if you have no friction during the flight (for instance, if you were to throw a ball while on the moon).
      Edit: talking about throwing a ball, not about the stitches.

  • @samus4799
    @samus4799 Před 8 měsíci

    If you're holding your arm perpendicular to your spine that is a 90° angle. Half of that would be 45°. But if you account for a tapered torso, 50° could be appropriate.
