    Hi Chris, love your calm presentation and review. Does this ND 8-2000 work so well with long exposure photography?? Thanks :)

    @marcellocavalcanti1 Před 3 lety +5

    hi chris, thanks for the video. I have both of these KF filters, and it seems for me that the ND2-ND32 is super accurate with the white dots on the side of the filter, i mean, if i choose to work with the dot representing the 4 stops range, it will block exactly four stops of light. On the other hand, the ND8-ND2000 (as well the ND2-ND400) are not accurate at all, you can't follow the white marks on the side of it because it's hard to find the exactly position to block the same 4 stops for example. so in my opinion the wider range filters (ND2-ND400/ND8-ND2000) are meant for video use, because you're not looking for accuracy, but to control the light and be able to use wider apertures outdoors ,as the lower range filter (ND2-ND32) is super precise so you can use it better for photography where you want to use lower shutter speeds with more accuracy. What do you think, am I saying nonsenses? Best, MArcello

      hi, I just wanted to ask, if I get the nd2-400, in the context of shooting a video while using the that ND, it will have the same result if I put it in nd32, if I compared to the nd2-32?

    Can the camera use the focus system with this filter. I want to use it to take away some light so I can use f1.8 in the middle of the day. I recall when I use my static ND filters, I have to focus without the filter then put the filter on. not to bad for a trypod and landscape with DOF is max but could be problematic for portraits with shallow DOF.

    • @chris_urra
      @chris_urra  Před 2 lety

      Yes it can use the focus system with the filter (depends of course how dark the picture gets with the filter).

Darfen Sie bitte mir bestattigen das diese 2 quadrat indicator fruher als MAX sind nichts z.b. x500 und x1000? Theoretisc Max effekt sollte sein 2000x. Thank you a lot again, Max, Buona gornata.

    Hello, answer please. I see this filter is steal to bright in max position without vignetting to shout video 25fps 1/50 at 1.8 aperture in bright day, is it correct?

    • @chris_urra
      @chris_urra  Před 4 měsíci

      I have the Sony RX100 VII which has its widest aperture at F2.8. So you seem to use another camera if you have F1.8. I can only talk about my experience with the Sony RX100 VII. With my camera in video mode the vignetting is not a problem (in photo mode I get vignetting, so I have to zoom in a little bit). And I can shoot video with the ND8-2000 filter in bright sunlight with the aperture at F2.8 as demonstrated in this video.

    Why not use a larger diameter filter to eliminate the corners?

    • @chris_urra
      @chris_urra  Před 2 lety +4

      That would be a solution, but than you can't set down the camera on a surface without taking of the filter. This smaller filter is flush with the body. I show this in my Magfilter / ND Filter video. When in video mode or zoomed in taking photos the corners are not a problem.

      @@chris_urra I get it. I'm looking into a set up just like this as well and since I'm only looking at still pictures (I don't vlog), I wouldn't mind removing the filter off the camera to set it down since it's magnetic and for taking long exposure pictures, I would mount on a tripod anyway. What do you think?

    • @chris_urra
      @chris_urra  Před 2 lety +2

      Sounds good, but keep the weight in mind. I wouldn't mount something to heavy to the front of the lens.

    What was your focal length?

    • @chris_urra
      @chris_urra  Před 2 lety +1

      The Sony RX100 VII has a focal length of f = 9.0-72 mm. Taking the photos I was zoomed out completely. As you can see at the borders of the images the edges of the filter are visible. So the focal length must have been 9.0 mm.

    The voice over feels like you jumped into a single person submarine :D ever considered sound dampening pads? They will massively improve your voice audio quality. If you are interested look for example here: czcams.com/video/VHCbO6psdIw/video.html just so you know the difference. BTW the dark gray foam is enough but you have to use a larger size and not the tiny smallest one they used in the video :) You can put them directly on the wall or create a box with a thick multicolored rubber foam inlay and then glue the gray foam onto it so you can hang it on your wall like a painting. And no need to cover the whole wall. It is enough when you stay with the center of the frame in the middle where you speak on at least the wall in front of you. But to have the best results use at least two walls. Three are better and four is of course the best. Just a tip, no hate :) take care
    PS: Google before you buy anything. You can buy this affordable sound foam expensive AND cheap depending on who the seller is and how he advertises his products.
