    This is my first 1911 and I can honestly say that I believe that I made a great purchase! I've always wanted one and the opportunity arose so I took advantage.
    I meant to say during the video that this handgun is Forged!! Which can make a drastic difference in quality, as opposed to the traditional casting methods.
    Once I get some range time with the pistol I'll make another video... stay tuned for Part 2!

    I wish I would have seen this before I bought the standard R1. For $100 more than the standard R1 in my area and I could've had this gun for $740 out the door. It literally has everything I want done to mine but without the hassle/possible problems/price that can come from a gunsmith doing things to the standard R1 but from the factory. Such a great and reliable platform.

      It’s a great piece of machinery - the R1 platform is killer in my opinion. You could always have more than one lol, maybe turn the regular R1 you have into a competition gun. The possibilities are endless !

    I don't understand why there aren't very many videos about this gun in particular.

      @@VPTACTICAL I forgot to ask. Do you know by any chance if that gun is a series 70?

      @@floridahighwaypatrol7713 Remington 1911s to my knowledge are all series 80 but there are videos on how to remove it if it's that much of a problem.

      I swear that I had responded to your comment, forgive me for not getting back sooner! A while back Remington had problems with a few of their guns and some individuals steered clear. I heard great things about the 1911 and sure enough bought one!

      Crazy mixture is right this gun is an 80 series!

      @@VPTACTICAL I picked up my R1 Carry last weekend. It's the best 1911 I've owned next to a Colt. I picked it up only for $728.

    Just saw a shorter barrel version at the big outdoors show in Harrisburg. I love it. Id like to shoot one to see if I want one. Love the 1911. We own several and Ive been a Remington Owner for decades. Gotta get me one

      Stephanie Janiczek’s Smuggler’s Cantina hello and thank you for subscribing!! Yes there are varying lengths of 1911’s and there’s just something special about the gun. You may consider looking up commander or officer size models, they are much smaller than the carry in my video. Stop by your local range to rent one or ask a friend if they have one you can shoot! I think you’ll fall in love with it!! Thank you again :)

      VP TACTICAL I’’ll do that. I really liked what I saw. If I can shoot one first it’ll seal the deal. Hubby got aSig Emperor Scorpion and despite my little hands I shot the hell out of it. I like 9s. But loving 45s. Ty for responding!

      I’ve got both 9 and 45, both are excellent in this type of gun. The Sig emperor is pretty sweet to say the least. Best wishes and happy to help!

    This 1911 forged or cast?

    • @VPTACTICAL
      @VPTACTICAL  Před 4 lety +2

      Steven Hayes This particular gun is forged carbon steel for the slide and the frame !

    My personal experience with this gun it sucked pretty bad here is why after only 3 months of ownership the finish wears through super fast the night sight will break a bunch of people have had these issues and the trigger rubs against the frame after you actually own it for a while and use the gun for a few months and send a couple hundred rounds through it let me now when your pissed off

      @VPTACTICAL  Před 4 lety +1

      Logan Furst wow! I’m surprised to hear that genuinely, I’ve had mine for a while now. Carried it frequently, shot it hundreds of rounds and never had a hiccup. I know awhile back there was QC issues, to my knowledge they were resolved. Thanks for the info!!

      I’ve had mine 11 years. The ONLY issue is the tritium is dying. I’ve sent thousands of rounds through. In fact, I just bought a second one I loved it so much

      @VPTACTICAL  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Heck yeah that’s awesome, shoot if that’s the only thing that goes wrong after 11 years then I’d say you’re doing pretty darn good. 👍🏻 Glad to hear!
