And I’ve known for years that black artists have been ghost writing most if not all of the music of white singers. Here’s another tip: K-pop!
This is a prime example of folks not knowing the history of the genre and taking something for their own. Just ask the Native American.
Or them knowing the history of the genre and taking it as their own. It doesn't become popular until certain people. Claim it.
How many people claim cornbread? We might have different techniques, but of course Native Americans invented that one. Anything from corn, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, squashes. Even BBQ had its roots in pit-style cooking, some Mexican and Native people still do, today.
There is going to come a time when people are going to laugh when you tell them that black people invented Rap music.
Nah, never again. Enough education happens, now.
I did once meet an older British man who ACTUALLY believed that The Beatles had invented Rock & Roll. He didn't even credit Elvis.
That won't be happening again. He was genuinely just ignorant. Anyone saying it now is lying, not ignorant.
They stole rock n roll and jazz.
Country music, Rock n Roll music, Jazz, and Rhythm and Blues music all come from Blues music. Period.
Which is ALL BLACK MUSIC!!! Say it wit ya chest!!!
So true
All popular Western music is blues based. The history of the blues is the history of America.
@@BCBell-fj2ht 👍
@@dacloffeblack Native Americans influenced all of American music. More research is necessary.
K michelle was saying the same thing. She can scat. She sings country. She doesnt want to be pigeon holed to R&B. Even though she a beast at that.
Country music is literally black gospel and blues.
They would hate it even more to know a Lesbian wrote some of their favorite songs!!
Was the lesbian blat ??
@@billgray3796 I’m assuming you meant Black.. yes do you have a problem?
Kris Kristofferson(Whistler in the Blade movies) was going IN!
T-Pain is an outstanding singer with a rich, velvety voice . . . ✨pure gold✨I’m ready for _HIS_ country album!
Imagine gatekeeping contemporary pop country lmaoooo
Exactly! As if it doesn't NEED new life?
Charlie Pride, Ray Charles etc. Just because you don't like their music doesn't mean they don't belong in country music. Here's an Idea, turn the station. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the rest of us can't have it.
He wrote for jelly roll
Got to tell Diddy no
Purple Rain is a country song
I can believe that. I’m black grew up going down south annually since my parents are from there and my spot as a teen was the bar/food/game spot (we went during the day to play pool, pac man, galaxy and buy some of the best fried chicken sandwiches on the softest white bread no drunks or pervs were tolerated and we all knew each other and they all knew my parents). That song needed two disc in the juke box!
We created all this off our pain. It's not surprising what supremacy does to the mental health of ppl
I never understood supposed "musicians" who understand how good music can make you feel, then turn around and say that a genre doesn't include a race or type of person. That's not a real musician in my eyes. Musicians eyes get opened when they play music. They realize music is universal. It's a language that can connect a variety of people.
Anybody IN music that feels differently is just a "hobbyist" or cosplaying a musician. Music has no concept of race, it just is.
I've always said if you cannot find a song in every genre to like you are not a music fan.
When we spend our lives seeking truth (for real) over being willingly lied to, truth comes to us. And we begin to love it. It's really working when we also begin to love one another.
The difference between the blues and Country and Western is the color of the skin person singing the song.
In blues they want to shoot their cheating woman. Which I like 🤪
It actually is the fiddle...if you go back in time. Bluegrass fiddles. That's more the Scots-Irish influence, but even then, a lot of those families are/were actually "mixed".
What I said Appalachia and you delete me?!? Hey CENSORTUBE 🖕🖕
FAH Q CENSORTUBE
I grew up in SE MO and I always hated country music because of who I associated it with. It wasn't until I got older and was exposed to Classic Country that I gained a respect for it. Darius Rucker going country won't stop me from listening to Cracked Rear View, and T-Pain writing country won't stop me from listening to On Top of the Covers
He writes pop country, those artists are pop with a twang.
Black people we are the Marsha of music😂. Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!!!
Charlie Pride is/was a legend 🤷
The country artist of today make me ill. Jonny Cash and all the rest of them of that era were just fantastic. I learned how to play guitar listening to Jonny Cash, I could feel him in his music.
Literally the same thing they’ve done throughout history
Not a country fan but those guys up there are legends in my book for the reasons in the video. Willie and the late Mr Cash make great music. I'm a New Yorker and a native at that so "its not my culture" per say.
Hell yeah T Pain
Great commentary
Thanks
Basically doing what they been doin
Did you know the name cowboy came from the The masters in the field, telling the slaves to get the cows. They say “GO GET THE COW BOY!”
LOL...GOOD ONE
Stealing a genre, reappropriating as their own and keeping talent out sounds way too familiar 🤔
tpain country records
Do you know what records these are? Inquiring minds dying to know!
insightful
Another excellent video. Just wanted to say I hate sports in general and you're the only sports channel I follow. lol Thank you, bro!
same
I bet he wrote wasted on you
Imagine if the world used all that energy and money to invest in their black demographic instead of undermining their contribution to the world and safeguarded their history. With the shared pool of skills and knowledge we could have star ships exploring space already 🙄 But nah, the system gotta keep the narrative going or egos will be hurt
Even country music got ghost writers
I will never understand how people feel so strongly about shot that just dont fucking matter. Who the fuck cares who likes/sings country music. I live in the country music capital of the world, and I don't even like country music. Priorities people.
You can definitely argue whats cool but don't forget about uncool. And hot. And lukewarm. And ON FIRE!!! And Ice cold. And lets not forget the Kelvin scale.
Banjo God ,Bela Fleck has a movie on Banjo subject on CZcams (Throw down your heart) he travels halfway around the world following the Banjo's roots..
Its that rock music with the horizontal guitars....
Of course we invented it😂
You invented half. Banjos came from Africa, but fiddles came from the UK.
Thomas Sowell is...not correct, about many things, but the two communities did live side by side. Often, the people themselves were mixed. That's just history.
Rick Strom a JEW!
is pushing CRT here!!!
and I fk'n BACK IT!
✊🏾
Shock and awe lol
Went to the African-American museum 2day n D.C. saw more Caucasian's that My own which was a shock.
I actually took a pic of the banjo because of this actual topic to share on social media. Thankz Again Rick.
Hearing him say that mean he wrote “what you know about rolling down in the deep”….. 😂
I'll add there is an music-doc on streaming platform "Max" that focus on Beyoncé, country music and how whites "whitewash" country music and how the music industry was forcing this idea onto the public. Very good short show(45 mins) but can really open the eye for those that never really had knowledge on the origin story of the genre.
Paul Mooney
Nice topic. Another thing which most people don't know is "Bull Dogging" or bull wrestling was started by and attributed to Wilson (Bill) Pickett who was Black. He did many shows with Buffalo Bill Cody doing rodeos.

Um, in South Carolina black people are country AF. Im not a big fan of country music, but its sort of ironic to exclude people from a genre that largely covers marginalization, struggle, and powering through difficult shit.
🎯 Thank You👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎯
Wow i can't believe they had a brand of makeup called blackface what in F
3:29 but there are white rappers and we don't say they're not rappers. Music i s music . sound doesn't have a color . How about Fast Cars by Tracy Chapman it's country music.
I had a white friend that thought Tracy Chapman was a white man....he was lowkey blown away when i broke it to him....although google DOES exist!
But drake can culture vulture all he wants? Nice thank god for Kenddrik for correcting that
It's our culture to begin with lol
I didn’t hear many complaints about Eminem doing it. He even confidently boasted “I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley, to do black music so selfishly, and use it to get myself wealthy” and he also said “I stole black music” on another song (King and I).
Ken Burns country music documentary touched and deford bailey and how johnny cash and mother maybelle carter got their guitar strumming from Black people.
I still don't like Country Music. It still sounds like... AHHHHHHHH! To my ears.
I only recently started listening to it, but always hated it lol. One night my fat ass rolled over on the remote & switched channel by accident and subconsciously. I woke up with the best sleep ever.

Conservatives adored Oliver Anthony cared. About everyone and the middle class.
Contemporary country music now sucks so bad.
T pain should ghost write for Chris Stapleton. One of the best singers that don’t do that puke inducing forced twang.
A grown man with a stuffed animal 😂😂😂
Music you hear on the radio now is just awful.
I humbly do not agree..I love the song " Where the Wild Things Are " ..Justin Bieber has expanded his horizons and gone country and he sounds pretty good...
@05:21 Black people*🤦🏾♀️
I thought the banjo came about when the Irish and African slaves worked and lived together on the sugar plantations
No no no no no
Yeah that's true but most people don't want the truth.
It’s crazy. Most folks don’t even know that the kkk hated the Irish equally. There’s even Irish skinheads now..😮
Truth is racism
This what he sounds like ?😂 #Sucka
Whites think because most country artists are white, that they invented the genre. Country music comes from the Blues, meaning it's a black thing. Actual musicians know this, but most country music listeners don't know this or refuse to acknowledge this.
T PAIN HATED 2PAC WITH A PASSION..F T PAIN..HE WANTS ATTENTION
Why you jocking Tupac's nuts?
So what? 2pac ain't god
What celebrity doesn't want attention??? And why are you bringing up 2Pac??? So what's your fascination with T-Pain anyway -- DANG!
2pac has been dead almost 30 years. T-pain was probably 6 or 7 when he died. I doubt he even knew 2Pac.
That's because looking into the deep history will make them recall their barbaric ways that they have to this day! Let them start with the Indians.
Oooh this isn't the dark truth about the industry. If you REALLY want to know... put it like this, DMX and his 'breakdown'. Yash Qaraah blew the lid on Sean Combs more than a decade ago... and more. I get this and do agree but it's just one element to a far seedier origin and intent.
Nobody in country uses auto tune
Yes they do.. you aren’t an audio engineer so you may not realize every artist uses it, some exaggerate the effect and some make it very subtle. Go to a studio when a recording is going down and get your mind blown.
Oh… _Really_ ? And are you a sound engineer at a Nashville studio ? or Abbey Road in England ? I can tell you that pitch correction software like Autotune and Melodyne is more prevalent in Country Music (particularly Bro Country, looking at you Florida Georgia Line, and Miranda Lambert) than you think

Who is the clown that said conservatives loved Anthony Oliver until they found out he was for the working class?!?! (Oh! It's the video host! 😂)
The damn lyrics are pretty damn obvious that the song is FOR THE WORKING CLASS!!!
To say that conservatives loved the song (while knowing exactly what the lyrics are saying), but didn't once they.....once they....heard the lyrics??? 🤨
So disingenuous. Conservatives loved Anthony Oliver's song ESPECIALLY because he represents the working class. He spoke to the hearts of the working class.
Yea I was confused on why he even said that, it was hard to miss when his video went viral, and we could clearly see who all was rooting for him.
Oh great, what’s big nose gonna complain about today?
Truly...ricky is on a venom roll and ray - ciss wipipo are in the crosshairs....he doesn't mention that artists like Merle Haggard always on stage paid tribute to " negro blues " and their vast contributions to American music....." Okie From Musgogee " is the anti woke national anthem and it's more relevant today than ever...I am sure the bulbous nosed bloviater distains that little jingle...

Tpain wants attention since he hasn't been making grrat music anymore and decides to blame other people when you're exposing yourself to not wanting to make music how you use to
Oh shut up. He's speaking the truth.
What are you talking about??
Are you. . .are you a real person?? T-Pain is wayyy under-rated. He can really friggin sing, but chose to stylistically use auto-tune. T-Pain is pretty "grrat". Does not suprise me at all that he would be uncredited in a variety of modern country music.
T pain is blaming RACISM in this segment. So if by "other people" you actually mean RACIST PEOPLE - then yes, he's blaming exactly those people.
And I think you're mistaken - He's an extremely talented artist and is highly-underrated because people want to box him into one genre of music artist. Many artists love many genres to create in and because of Gatekeeping, they basically have to limit their careers to one genre.
This horrible channel doesn't even put any thought into these ridiculous videos anymore. As long as they continue to push their message of hatred, division, and racisms.
How should he have made this video?
More tears? Go make some plant videos fake tough guy.
