Not only are men's clothing sizes simpler, they are much more customized and precise. Men's pants are by the waist size AND by length. Dress shirts are by the neck size and sleeve length. You don't find that kind of customization in women's clothing -- except in bra sizes.

With women's clothing, the sizes aren't actually universal. One designer's 6 is not the same as another designer's 6. It’s so annoying! I’m typically a 1 or a 3 in most stores. But some stores I end up in a 5 or 6 and some I don’t bother shopping because even the 0 is too big.

A 0 in America equates to a 4 in most of the world, 1 is 6, 2 is 8, 3 is 10, etc, for exactly that reason. It's mainly just marketing.

I'm a painter and I never use such stupid terms. I refer to all colors in their pure forms (on the color wheel). It's either a warm or cool blue that has been tinted/shaded or neutralized with it's complement or mixed with another color. At the end of the day it's only blue violet with an altered value/saturation.

High school girls look fatter than my generation was, but the numbers make it appear otherwise. Smoke and mirrors.
