    The class 317 was built 41 years ago.
    It is old but it is a good operated fast train.
    Top speed: 100 mph
    Date when was built: 1981.

    Theres something about the GA refurbishment that just makes them look so much more modern than they used to. I love it

    if the class 317's ran on third rail it would be good to have a picture of a 317 and a 455 together

    I love the GA 317s and LO 317/7s. Next will be First ScotRail class 318s.

    Greater Anglia is the current operator with Class 317 trains. These trains were withdrawn from London Overground in 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 317722 was used as a testbed for future upgrades and reliabilities in the future. Additionally The Class 317s will be replaced by 2022, with the introduction of the new Class 720 units. London Overground introduced Class 710 trains into service in December 2019, although full entry didn't start until March 2020.

      The class 317 for GA are going in December 2020. Are you sure that all the London Overground Class 317 completely gone.

      Word, although the 317s have more horse power in their 455 counterparts and the motors of the 455 are based on 1930s tech apparently
