- Goblin the pangolin was rescued from a smuggling gang and is being treated at a clinic in South Africa.
Arriving underweight and on the brink of death, she is one of 40 of the scaly creatures to have been treated by the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital this year.
The traffickers who snatched her have been caught by South African police, but experts say the trade has got out of hand.
Wildlife vet Dr Karin Lourens described the pangolin as "essentially the most hunted mammal on Earth".
