I'm British, I work in IT. I went to Beirut a few years ago to work on a project. There were quite a few people around just like me, tech people and business people and so on. For a while Beirut was a pretty popular destination, once upon a time it was called the Paris of the middle east and it looked like it might become that again. I had a great time there and I met some cool people but it looks like I'll probably never go there again.
