Its reverse record
One of the few tricks I’ve seen where the solution is that the magician is just doing what he appears to be doing, and it’s an impressive skill.
No he really isnt. The cards are arranged beforehand and carefully realigned as he "unshuffles" the deck. Every truly shuffled deck of cards is a unique shuffle. That is a mathematical fact, as the possible number of ways to order a pack of cards is 8x10^67. For reference, there are about 2.4x10^67 atoms in the Milky Way Galaxy. Therefore, its statistically impossible this deck was a unique shuffle before or after he began moving cards.
^^ Exactly. He's doing exactly what he appears to be doing. He arranged the deck beforehand and shuffled it with precision. But because of the shuffling technique, he can guarantee where each card falls. All skill, and still looks impressive!

Actually not a camera trick. You need a fair amount of practice and a really realy good deck like Penguin Elites.

Discrete maths
@@amrit351 That’s not true, but even if it was, how would that make it any less impressive? Reversed or “versed”, it would still be showing him changing the words bit by bit with each shuffle. Maybe if it went from “unshuffled” to completely scrambled you’d have a point, but the “unshuffled” split but was still legible, then split more but still spelt “unshuffled”, then scrambled but still together. No matter how you look at it, this would be impossible for any random person to be able to do without tons of practice.
