Police Were Called Three Sheriffs And One Marshal After A Great Evening Flight

- Late in the evening we flew around the new data center construction site, Trilith Film Studios and Camp Southern Grounds. Upon our return to our landing zone a sheriff was there waiting. A total of three sheriffs and one marshal showed up. Someone called 911 to report 2 people parachuted into the construction site were they have been having some serious vandalism. After the first ten seconds of talking they knew we were not trouble. We did not land or touch any of the property. Turned out to be a great interaction and we were able to introduce them to our wonderful sport.

I respectfully shared that we really are under the FAAs authority and not theirs or the land owners. If they have never interacted with the paramotor community I would not expect them to know too much about it. Thank you for checking out the video.
If I was a dispatcher and heard about a paraglider I'd be sending the coroner, not police. I mean it's only a matter of time.
You'd still attach the police along with FD and EMS. You don't get to make those kinds of calls individually anyways there's dispatching SOPs to every kind-of call you could imagine, and you follow what it tells you to send.
I cant imagine there are many vandals that would go to the effort of chartering a plane and doing a skydive just to burn up sh*t at the LZ🤣🤣🤣🤣

Didn't realize this was a thing but add me to this list. I thought I could feel it so a couple flights ago I turned around to watch the engine and it would have a quick shake at cruise like a miss? Otherwise runs absolutely flawless and smooth?

By the way, we have a giant data center always under construction in Huntsville, built on Federal property. They have more than your videos in there. Just saying!!!

The hypocrisy of many in the government that complain about the high energy cost associated with mining crypto. Yet I hear zero complaints about the data center consumption that includes it's own substation. 😅

People don't want people flying around right above their homes. Even if it's not illegal it's a dick move to not respect that.
No we do not have minimums like general aviation and we were not buzzing people’s homes. The police were called from a construction site.
And you gave them your ID? Why? Caving in to utterly unlawful requests is unacceptable and normalizes abuse of power.

So give the police a hard time and be difficult which will ensure future police contacts and probably the loss of a good LZ.
