Crawford has always understood each character he played absolutely...never shortchanged an audience or subverted story values to serve ego...never gave anything less than his very best...this man will be missed when he leaves us.
I absolutely love this video! I can watch it over and over again and not get sick of it...probably because Michael Crawford puts so much energy and passion into this song! And his adorable smile couldn't hurt either lol
It's so sad to read comments that say, "not as good as wall-e" and you're only here because of Wall-E. This is a brilliant film and musical in it's own right.
@@kbye2321 wall e my bad but i have seen weird people refer wall e as a musical and coco even though their charactization is never done in music form but in show don’t tell
@@staringcorgi6475 I agree. Coco could theoretically be a non-diabetic musical but too much of the plot isn’t done through the song numbers, so it really isn’t… It’s more a movie with some thematic and plot-driving songs..
*Strange facts. The town used in "Hello Dolly" to represent Yonkers, was actually Cold Springs, which is a few miles further up the Hudson river in NY. Yonkers had become too modern by then, but Cold Springs still had that turn-of-the-century charm. Still does. I used to change trains sometimes at that station on my way to Poughkeepsie. The station & surrounding area still looks the same today. There was also a bakery nearby that had some of the best pastry. Would usually stop & get some while waiting for the train. Anyway... both movies are terrific. Thanks for reading this whole thing.* 👍 🙂
I like to think somewhere out there Danny Lockin saw his performance revived in Wall-E and simply smiled. The world lost a shining star when Lockin was taken.

thanks 4 the tip. Man, this song is soooo catchy! WALL-E is my fave movie, and one of my favorite parts is hearing the painting robot use its motor to mimic that clip.
If Disney does a live action Wall-E and the main actors I chose are Dylan O'Brien from *The Maze Runner* as Wall-E, and Margot Robbie from *Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)* as EVE.
Let's be honest here: you probably came back from watching the 25th anniversary of the Phantom of the Opera, and then after that watching that, watched endless youtube videos about it, and covers on the Music of the NIght, and then realizing that Michal Crawford was the original Phantom, and then watching HIM sing Music of the Night, and then remembering he was in other musicals as well, and then looking them up on youtube. No? Just me? Ok...
Danny Lockin was brilliantly cast here and gave a stunning performance, but he is often forgotten because of the way Crawford's career developed him into a household name. Such a tragedy that a brutal murder cut short the life of such a talented performer. His dance moves in this picture outshine everyone else on the screen.
Ugh i watched this film soooo much when i was a kid and i still love it, i think this began my love of musicals and my intro to Barbara and Walter Matthau
Do you know what I find funny? WALL-E was released in 2008, that was long before Disney bought fox, So they had to pay for the rights to use Hello Dolly. But now that they’ve purchased Fox, the movie is part of their library now.
I found Hello Dolly online and watched it There's still that damn idea that wearing people down over time with a fake personality will make them love you... except with Barnaby and Cornelius. That was genuine

This video is also slightly sped up so his voice sounds higher

Michael Crawford is a truly talented performer. My favorite show of his will always be the Broadway musical “Barnum”!
Mine will be when he performed as the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera

It's quite funny that Disney now owns this film.
