Heisers had a camp by the grade springs on old grave. Grandpa Heiser would bathe in the wash under the culvert. This was in the early to mid seventies. Best brookie was 17 1/2 down before Tollisin acres
Have fond memories of Cap, and the pastor from the church in White lake fishing with my father and I . Also enjoyed fishing the jungle back off old grave in the sec south branch.
Also remember when the old Wayside tavern on "W" used to have their annual fishing contest. Also remember fishing at the end of old shingle mill and noticing all of a sudden that the trees were all huge, and that I wasn't in Kansas anymore. 🤣
@@biggarfishNo. My old sinking leader was deteriorating. Found one a friend made years ago and tried that. Did not work well. All 19 browns I caught this day hit the streamer within 6 inches of the surface.

Was it Father Vandenburg on Horserace Rapids?
@@timwaters7253 not certain of his proper name , as a youngster I addressed him as " father"

I think I know that rock on the first fish caught. Should be right off the trail to get down there.
Curious if you're able to trout fish during the summer months or if the water temps get too high.
I don't fish much during the summer. Work the tributaries usually. Historically many trout leave, but that is changing!
does the olive wooly bugger work this time of year?
Oh yes it does. Just finished tying them for the shop. Works best when everything else is not working.
Did the temperature get out of the 50s yesterday?
Air 55 degrees, water 49 degrees.
Do you have a shock absorber section in that leader? Looks like 5” of white material.
Or is that weight

That’s a great looking river. I hope to get there during our travels once we retire next year.
