This is one of those songs that gets missed a lot by people that weren't ARMY at the time and is still one of my favorites songs. I recommend it to everyone because the rapping/singing, beat and lyrics are sick! So glad you did and love this one. Check out Love Maze. 💜
My daughter made a very extensive Apple Music playlist so I’ve heard them all over and over and was fortunate enough to have heard so many songs that I probably would have missed and this was INE of my first favorites!

To me this song is their way of saying is ok to not have a dream, is ok to have one and take it slow, you don't have to compare your life and your path to others because life shouldn't be a race just live your life the way you want it and make it your own paradise.
This song encompasses BTS and their message. They said life is a marathon. A marathon is run differently by many runners some fast and some slow but we all end up in the same place... you get me? We all running to the same finish line so they say “each breath is exhaled in paradise “ because your already here in this world living in your paradise. Stop chasing a dream in the future when NOW is paradise. That’s why RM says if the future is a dream then what did I have in my bed? He’s saying dreams are FANTASY we have in our beds and chasing dreams in life ALWAYS in the future is also a fantasy. Having dreams is like a debt....it’s like a debt we pay by chasing after it with our life. He is saying every small attainable goal can be a dream like buying a laptop or eating or even just sleeping in. SO JUST STOP running towards a fantasy and breath in your paradise (life) now because your life is a gift and precious now. Yoongi raps like dreams are meaningless anyways because it’s all just the world yelling at you what your dream SHOULD BE like comparing you to others. Just dream your own dream even if just surviving is your dream.

I think RM's part is saying that if you're always dreaming of a future happiness you can't be happy now. Take time to notice your happiness now. It's not just always in the future . "What did I just have in my bed last night?" Wasn't that a dream? Everything you do is a dream, your existence is beautiful dream to those in Heaven. That's why your breaths are already in paradise. You don't have to always rush or compete to be better, sometimes all you have to do is just be. You're already a dream. 💜

I'm so happy someone already told you this. I'd like to add, when I first heard him say this a part of me didn't understand. Coming from America where we're told to dream big, a bit of me wanted to disagree. But when I thought of it I realized that people say dream big but really don't teach you how. unless your talent is undeniable, unless your dream is "normal" people don't really encourage you. Instead your parents tell you about the importance of stability and getting a good job. Your childhood dreams shatter quietly and easily are sent to literal dreamland.
From what I've learned the pressures put on the youth in Korea are harsher. From an early age you are taught to study study study. If you aren't number one then you are basically a loser. Hence the high rate of suicides. The pressures seem so heavy and there is zero time to dream.

This song deserved so much better. these lyrics in particular.... that's what makes me a fan. These words are what many of us need to hear. society and adults make us feel always like a burden, like useless individuals if we don't pursue a dream. but some of us can't do that because we don't know what we want to do already or for other reasons. these are the comfort words we need

This is one of those songs that i had great appreciation for when I got to understand what they were saying. It's true that the world seldom teaches you how to dream. They want to hand you a dream or set of dreams and encourage you to fulfill that. To me this celebrates not just the big things that people think are so important but the small goals/dreams that people often tend to dismiss.
The fact that the boys still haven't performed this song live makes me so frustrated and mad, like, come on .. If it wasn't for that damn pandemic, we would've seen the boys doing what they do best, smiling and vibing with ARMY like they always do. Man, 2020 sucks.

This song speaks to so many that don’t have a dream or one that’s not the “typical” dream and says you don’t have to struggle to reach something unknown/unhappy and it’s ok to be satisfied just by existing and doing ordinary things in life or whatever brings you joy.

BTS worked with a British songwriter/performer named MNEK on "Paradise" and he's amazing too. His own song "Paradise" (a completely different song) is one of the most transcendent things I've ever heard. He was so excited to meet RM in Korea in 2018 on his tour there! I feel like BTS "Paradise" is one of the most comforting messages they've ever put out to their fans in a world that always seems bent on making people feel like they'll never be enough just as they are.

Such an underrated song, and the "baton pass" from Suga to J-Hope is so perfect ("people curse me incessantly"/"the world has no right to curse you"). I can't believe they've never performed this live - it's a great sentiment for the times we're living in. Jimin on that chorus... WHEW.
