I think the focus of the joke is that farquad allows his insecurity to control him and his actions, acting as the opposite character arc to Shrek

The main short jokes are the compensation ones. It's not that he's short, but that he tries everything to make up for / hide it.
The villain can be made fun of because he is the antagonist and his feelings and thoughts don’t matter.

Shrek in spanish just goes out of the window with spanish only expressions, Eugenio Derbez plays Donkey and it just ups the comedy all the way to 11. I've seen it both in English and Spanish, and maybe it's because my mother tongue is spanish, but the movie is funnier in spanish. The translation is a masterpiece too. And the second one is even better.

I like how one of the most philosophical things in cinema is when a freakin’ cartoon ogre talks about an onion to a donkey. Which is the greatest thing of all time!
I'd say that's a very accurate representation of animation/cinema. It doesn't matter how ridiculous your show/movie/game is or where it comes from, it doesn't matter if it's aimed at kids or adults, it doesn't matter how wacky and too weird your characters and setting in said show/movie/game are, it can still tell a good, mature encaptivating story and lesson

I was once in a convention where the man who voiced him in the Latin American translation gave a talk and he said just how hard it was, and that they had to find a way to make jokes and expressions work, he also said that everyone should see it in English regardless, praising the movie for its dialogue

Other way around my dude. Alax is one of the biggest reasons Scott became huge. Alax was so impressed with his early stuff that he let Scott upload on his channel as a guest creator, back when Scott only had a few thousand subs. Alax, at the time, was at his efficiency peak, constantly pumping out high quality content with a super strong, consistent viewership.

This channel is the only one where I can see Smash Bros and Persona references in a Shrek review and not be surprised by any of it

As a mexican person who watched the whole shreck franchise in spanish since I was a kid, I can say that it's one of the best movie translations I've ever seen, I've seen shreck in english several times and I have to say they made the translation so culturaly apropiate to our language and the voice acting is so strong that I find it a better time in spanish than in english, and Im not being influenced by nostalgia, in my most unbiased opinion I believe its even better at points, specially donkey and the fairy godmother, they played them so well its incredible, and as a bilingual person I love being able to see both englis and spanish shreck, shreck its actually a masterpiece of translation
