I think the "most projectiles" thing means some special projectiles can't be destroyed like Hecate's sheep hex but everything else can.
oh 100%, it is just that in _practice_ it comes in handy a lot less than you'd think due to the super slow startup of sprinting
It's probably going to be insane for a lot of bosses, the original had a lot of bullet hell boss fights

The fun irony of Hestia having a placeholder portrait is that we basically know nothing about her- she was so commonplace that stuff about her wasn't written down!
Basically, if she ended up with a similar portrait in the final build, it would be a fun anthropology joke
A web serial I was working on previously had some stuff to do with the Greek gods, especially Hestia at the start, and it was just... impossible.
There was one thing uncovered by anthropologists recently. It was a scroll with the text saying "Hestia best girl". So at least we know that.

I'm glad Reto also noticed Hecate being the same VA as the Narrator in BG3, was the first thing I thought when she spoke. But she's a banging VA, so it makes sense she'd be in another banger game.
This game already seems like it has some really interesting build variety. This teleporting backstab fight style was EXTREMELY satisfying to watch.

The frog is definitely my favorite character
I think Hestia might not be Hestia at all. She is the goddess of the hearth and its comforting flames, the most peaceful among the olympians and Melinoe is surprised that she's even active the first time. Also some of her gifts seem to be double edged, which are kinda odd.
Maybe it's that damn Eris copying Hestia again stirring up something
Keep in mind that in the first game, hesia was supposed to have been the first to wield the gun, so she might just be different from myth
I could see that. But we also have Demeter, the goddess of harvest as the winter goddess (seasons). Though that one is explained by her daughter missing.
I think they're just giving her reason for giving up her partin the 12 Olympians

I think you can stop the sheep blast, you just lost your slowdown because it only triggers while charging up, not while holding charge
i got access to the technical after watching ur first video, ive not been this hyped for a game in so long, hope i get early access (somehow) and even more excited to pre order. Havent watch this video yet but I'd definitely recommend trying it out on controller, I find it much more smooth to play with

Looking at this gameplay, I guess dashing also counts as a sprint(not sure if you need to hold the dash key down though). Could clearly see the projectiles disappear on dashing.
Also I guess the reason why you got hit by a projectile(at about 22:09) is: You cancelled the dash/sprint to a omega charge move, which disables the dash/sprint boon effect.
Just like how the other comment said, wonder what are the special projectiles that can't be destroyed? On Hecate's attacks, it seems it's impossible to destroy most of her "projectiles" except the tiny bubble ones. Wish it could destroy her sheep hex and trigger Hecate's secret annoyed dialogue.
Omg, we NEED a secret way to turn Hecate into a sheep using her own spell.

I don't believe that they will hard cut you off after 5 wins. At least from what i can infer from the language used such as "please consider your participation in this technical trial to be complete", it seems like they are soft capping you at 5 wins or in other words they are suggesting you to stop after 5 wins cause their aint much left story and likely gameplay wise to explore after that, but I'm sure that you can still play after those 5 wins there just isn't anymore unlocks or cutscenes to get after the 5 wins.
Nah, it's been confirmed that you can't do any runs after 5 wins.
This is the video that made me realize Amelia Tyler voices both the BG3 Narrator and Hecate. When I first heard Hecate speak I immediately went "Hm... She sounds familiar".

I kinda wish the sprint boons still effected your dash. Might be broken with some abilities, but they kinda feel underwhelming as is.
How's the build variety compared to first game ?

Nope! If you try to use the Hex that inflicts morph on her she resists it and you get a unique dialog line, lol.

Is there any reason you don't use the cast? You know the big circle that traps enemies for a bit.
yeah, it is a bit clunky and halts your movement too in a weird way. If I don't get additional benefit from it, e.g. slow, damage, etc, I'd rather just actually kill the enemy. Then they are cc'ed _forever._
Well Selene will do just fine. I wonder if the fated list is more or less optional how? Also Nemesis is def the Meg of our game and I'm here for it 😂 Also also idk how we have Artemis and Selene but ok.

story games that are _shorter than 10 hours_ famously do awful on my channel lol, it is reserved for game night with my girlfriend and it has been really nice!

Hey Reto, love your videos as always!
I played a ton of the first hades; probably atleast 100 hours of it, and from what im seeing so far the new mana system needs major tweaking if they want to implement this, it seems like a casting build is absolutely far outclassing anything else when it comes to investment to reward ratio. Why bother seeking daedalus hammers or primary damage upgrades when you can just within 2 upgrades and with mana regen cards be able to spam out 1 shot projectiles back to back? Would love to hear what everyone else thinks!
I think the Hammers can affect any type of attack (depending on weapon), so they should work with cast builds. (If you´re lucky.)
Other than that, you ARE playing as a witch. (More or less.) So more magick-y build seems appropriate.
But yeah, I´d need to get my hands on the game to really get a feel for it. One thing I´ll say, mana regen needs to be (more of) a thing. There already are a few ways, but they seem almost mandatory, like with the ultimate (hex) that you might not even be able to use without certain upgrades.
@johnyshadow I believe they do I just meant the empowered "omega" attacks that use mana seem to be the focus, though I do agree that it feels on brand for the character and setting I think it does make mana regen and as a result the empowered attacks feel like an overly important focus over basic attacks/specials/spells.

@@EODVods Difinitely more of a "core" skill, yes. But already I´ve seen a few skills that "lock away" part of your mana, so you need to focus on basic attacks more. Also one hammer that disabled the charge to empower the basic attack.
But it remains to be seen how viable that build type is.
(Hey, I´m a mage main, so I´m bound to find excuses. xD )
Can you turn the voice volume up for these videos? The Hades voice acting is one of the biggest draws to the game (and therefore your video).
I have the voice volume at 100% and the rest of the game at 35% and this is the result, it is actually wild

They're running a small closed beta soon (sign up on the steam page). They granted access for some of the bigger Hades/Roguelike streamers and CZcamsrs
I've noticed something, since you've entered the artemis room, you had the counter stuck at 6 for her and 9 for you.
It may be a "nice" joke but also always a win agaisnt her in the technical test build?

Oh man. You really should have taken that heroic. It knocksback, deals 200 damage, AND spends mana which is actually a benefit because it charges your ultimate and you have good mana regeneration. 😂

Is it me or does the story or character just not seem as compelling as the original?
there is a lot of placeholder, the story in the original Hades wasn't particularly compelling the day it came out either. It took time to build up.
I personally enjoyed the hide and seek flashback & them two as characters.
It seems a lot more on the "edgy" side, but it might not be a bad thing.
(And it does make sense with the Titan war.)
I mean, keep in mind this isn't even alpha yet. Tbh Tartarus was one of the least interesting parts of the first Hades before you win any runs or make much progress. Which this is basically the equivalent of atm.
Im loving the whole premise tbh, i find Hecate very intriguing but I think the game needs a bit more buildup via a cinematic or some sort of cool exposition at the very start.

Maybe because there aren't weapon upgrades yet and I've shown that, jeez lol.
