Can we take a second to notice the exceptional skill behind the camera? Keeping a plane, especially a little one like that in frame ALL THE TIME!!! I say this because I tried recording my brother flying one of his 60 size birds and I found it to be challenging!! I've seen several of your videos and she does a very good job !!!!!!!
She is amazing! We didn't even know how good she was, and then one day, we're both like - WOW, Megan is really good at keeping these planes in frame! Focus is another item that is VERY hard to manage, and this too does drive how I fly, since I TRY to keep background there, so cloudy days are better for this, but we don't always have a choice, since we're getting into fall now, and it'll get worse and worse as the season progresses ;(
Thanks!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I haven't seen all your vids but judging prom your picture there on the left can I assume you are a "real" pilot?
And all on a phone! Puts many a Hollywood camera operator to shame.
Just got done setting up my voodoo. Thanks again for all the info. You guys are my go to for new planes. I’m a new flyer.. come from racing.. I follow all your guides and helps out so much!! Voodoo cub sport and 50mm habu
Awesome! Glad you're here with us, and hope we can help you get where you want to be as soon as possible.
Another great video. Filled with good narratives... Also, hats off to "Camera crew" for great shots, staying focused on the plane and not "crossing" behind the pilot from time to time... good job.
Thanks, and YEAH, she is so good, I feel super bad when I have to move in front of her, but she's so good at hiding it ;)
Looks so much fun! Flying the umx planes is just relaxing! This one looks like a lot of fun! ✈️ I fly my umx P-47 all the time!
That was an awesome flight! Every time I watch your videos I get excited to fly and hopefully learn some of the tricks you do. Thanks for sharing all these detailed informations about the new planes. Your videos are much appreciated! 👏👏
Thanks for the kind words, and glad you're enjoying the content. Thanks for being here with us!
I just pre-ordered this plane with a 2S and 3S battery through your link Brian. I already have the NX8 transmitter and I love it!
Thanks for your great video on this UMX P_51. Hopefully mine will arrive in a printed box with a unfolded manual 😆.
You really do give a lot of good info in your videos and Meagan does a wonderful job filming you and making sure to keep you in line lol.
Thanks again to both of you for your very informative videos and the work that you both but into them!
Remy
I got the nx8 and took your advice from there now on my forth plane and it is awsum. Gets your heart racing.
Brain,
thank you for the great video and thanks to the camera crew 🙂
I directly pre ordered the plane with batteries and adapter!
Thanks a lot 👍
Excellent, thanks!
Great video as always. Love the UMX size ... perfect for the field next door. I also appreciate the fact that the landing gear can be removed easily ... I fly in a field with high grass and no way those tiny wheels would do anything but break off. I'm just a bit past beginner and this will be my first low wing warbird ... will use SAFE first but will move to just AS3X soon I hope. Pre-ordered via your link ... thanks!
Love all your videos - so informative and really entertaining.
Many thanks.
Just got mine. Thanks for the great review. Time to go fly!
Good choice! Hope you love it!!!
Wonderful Demo. Just pre ordered mine
Bob
Wow, that thing is a rocket. Thank you guys
Wow. Thankyou for another great video. Thank Camera crew for doing such a great job catching your flights. Thats harder then in looks.
Our pleasure! and you got that right! Megan is amazing at the camera!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC So I just received mine. Got it all set up and ready to go. I noticed you didnt set DR or Expo. You usually do that. Anyhow. Stoked to get this up in the air. PS. I used your link to get it. Im going to get the Eflite edge 300 soon also. I loved watching that video.
CZcams it's Brian Phillips. I love putting it on loop
LOL - that's great! We have a select few viewers who just HATE that part...maybe we should make this video just for them - LOL ;)
Hey Brian and the camera crew, thanks for all the information and for taking the time to teach, I appreciate it! Four months into flying RC and I have been learning by crashing my new planes and crashing my simulated future planes, haha Yikes.... the pain is worth every penny though, that's how to progress. I like your moves out there, keep it up there guy.
Thanks Jake, and yes, crashing is a huge part of the hobby when you're new at it...anyone who says differently is full of crap. I personally think that crashing on the simulator is just so much less painful, that it almost normalizes it for many. I wanted and needed the pain associated with a crash to make it fun when I didn't, back when I started flying. Sounds like you're in the same boat.
Hi Brian, long time watcher and thank you for your awesome reviews on all products, you do such a fantastic job,we both have a connection with Jason Merkle,I’m great friends with his Dad and he and I fly just about every morning and have lunch together here in sunny Las Vegas NV,you have helped me with some setups and just wanted to say THANK YOU so very much, always looking forward to your next review, your CZcams process, flight, unbox and setup is so well done and you have such a great camera crew, you have helped so many people here in Las Vegas and just wanted you to know,Have a great Weekend & Take Care!
Another great video. Really enjoyed the flying and commentary.
I am glad they put a battery door on it. The gentle annie p51 didn't have one. I still have it. The foam is compressed where the battery goes. I put velcro in there if I do a high g loop it will fall out and sometimes disconnects and it's a deadstick to the ground
Love your videos! I also try to watch their full length. Keep up the great work
끝내줍니다. 당장 하나 구입해야겠어요.
Amazing, great flight ✈ so fast, and slow at the same time!
"Oh no! Everybody died!" I appreciate your work man, definitely a go to channel, I think this will be my next small-field airplane.
Camera Crew is on point! Thanks for all the great content!
You're welcome, and she sure is!!!
FYI: The foam top cover from the box, if turned upside down makes a nice cradle for the plane when working on the backside of it (hang the tail over the table edge). I also mark with a sharpie the "black" or negative wire side of the red JST connector to ENSURE I don't force plug the battery in wrong and blow the ESC.
Good tips!
This plane looks great! Your lawn is looking good!
Mine will finally be here tomorrow. I can’t wait
Just ordered one from your link! Great content!
Thank you! Glad you did, and every bit helps!
Looks great! Happy weekend!
Reading this on Monday morning.... LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC happy Monday! ❤️
Finally a new umx I actually want.
Thanks for showing the durability 😉 haha great flying tho man. It looks really sweet. I'm glad they're going with the 2-3s setup in their umx line. That way some get their scale flights and others get to fly crazy lol win win.
That’s a quick little bugger. I’m sure I could get myself in trouble with that one. Thanks for SAFE & AS3X.
It's got power to get out of trouble ;)
Very cool mini P-51. Looks like it flies great. Actually might consider buying this one someday.
Seeing how Eflite loves to cancel planes, you might want to buy it sooner than later...
That thing is so fast! Great job both of you!
Thanks! It's super fast, but still does fly slow when you want - wish she had flaps still - then you could CREEEEEEEP.
Just too Cool ! Love the Plane and an Awesome video !
Brian, thanks for bringing this plane to us. I love the Voodoo livery and the P51 so this is an automatic win. Also, thanks for pointing out that this is NOT an Eachine type of a plane. My only gripe is that the Mustang should be a B, not a D model but it's a P51, so it's a born winner either way. From your links I will buy this plane and parts when they are available. Have a great week, Brian and family...
@@flyguy2913 Ok, so did they modify the D to have a razorback profile? Wouldn't it have been easier to use a B model?
E flite - and Brian Philips RC - pushing the envelope as usual!
Thanks ;)
I love it Brian, what can I say, always a sucker for another P51 lol. Another plane on my wish list! Definitely a nice price!
Always look forward to your quality videos. Oh yes 3S UMX micro......P51? Wait what? They skipped over the 2S Corsair. Looks like the old 2S with new guts and paint. Amazing to think they started off with 1S.
I attend the races every year and love the Reno Racers. Voodoo is my all time favorite but disappointed they didn't go the distance with clipping the wing and shaving the canopy like the real deal. Now fingers crossed, they will release a competitive 3S UMX Corsair in the Reno Racer 57 scheme!
Great review just flew mine today great little plane.
Thanks! It's a great plane.
I can’t get over how quiet that is. I have the UMX Timber X and it is very loud. I also think the UMX Timber X motor emits a frequent that dogs don’t appreciate.
Brian & Megan I sure do appreciate you guys....Thanks for your efforts to bring this content to CZcams for my viewing pleasure I mean Education!
This looks fun!
Pre-Ordered, also you did the UMX Timber X which I also purchased, it was released a few months ago after the Pitts. I used the Timber X for my clubs float fly 2 weeks ago!
We did the UMX Timber X ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes I know that's partly why I bought one!
I love how it uses the same 300mah 3s their other recent UMX offerings have. Hopefully a new standard that sticks around for a while instead of having to buy yet more oddball batteries.
Dang it you got a bunch of planes .Thanks for your advice and help Sir
Very cool!
Love the size.
Thanks!
Lol 5 minutes on a piece of Velcro.. you Brian are very thorough! Good info tho I appreciate it
Yes, as it turns out - LOL
cool plane and great setup, nice flying and review
Thanks!
@@BrianPhillipsRC 🙂👍
Thanks to your video and a couple of others I ordered one of these as a Christmas present to myself. Have you flown it in strong winds much? I'm sure the winds blow it around a lot but I'm wondering if it handles when well enough that at least it's fun trying to control it in a wind that might be as strong as say 20 miles an hour.
Really cool to see HH coming out with these UMX planes. I bet it uses the same motor and controller board as the new UMX Timber X and UMX Pitts S-1S (same 3S battery for sure).
I believe you're right, and it's got enough power for a plane 1.25-1.5 times bigger in my estimation. I'm so excited for the UMX'es - they've always been a favorite lineup!
That plane is awesome 👌
It is fantastic! Now I want more UMX Warbirds ASAP ;)
WOW that thing is extremely fast!!
It is for a UMX, but not at the expense of slow flight performance...that's the beauty!!!!
Woohoooo finally made the top two and I went through a hurricane last night. (hurricane Ian in Fl) And of course now the cleanup begins.
Once again Megan ROCKS tha cam and you sir ROCK tha sticks lol
Just ordered it from your link.
Thanks!
I love my UMX voodoo but I am still having a hard time Landing it. I'm used to a plane where if I cut the throttle it will glide, but with this plane if I cut the throttle it will nose up and then stall. Any tips on how to land it?
Flies great I want one
Awesome 🔥 Price isn't bad also. I shouldn't have a problem using My RTR AeroScout remote and receiver ? Any advice is appreciated.
Well Horizon is out untill April so had to get mine from Tower Hobbies, can't waite; This will be my 3rd Umx plane purchased this month.🥴
I like it. We may pick one up from you but I think the reason it flies so well is because of who's flying it. 🤣
LOL - flattery alert ;) - This plane can *almost* fly itself :)
The livery is jarring at first but it grows on me pretty quickly the more I watch your video.
I thought so too, and after looking at her for a few weeks on the kitchen counter, I've really grown to like it a lot. I still ALSO want a military livery ;)
Great Video should help new flyers better info on starting with a UMX model keep up the good work
Thanks!
Brian... if u could only have 1 umx in the hanger would it be this or the pitts?
Quick question. Does safe compromise top speed meaning is the top speed slower in safe than in as3x. I have noticed that my 1100 mm t-28 is rather slow in safe even though i;ve put a 3 blade prop on it and a 6 s motor. It acts a little faster but i,d like to get all the rates correct and my bravery up before I turn off safe ;-)
SAFE SELECT has no function on the THROTTLE channel, but it might make the maneuvers smoother, since SAFE does limit pitch and bank angles.
That being said, there is a Throttle to elevator mix that is added into FULL SAFE equipped planes, but shouldn't make the plane slower or faster, just that it will help you add in power when taking off.
Why did you reverse the gear channel? I thought SAFE turned off with the switch?
First UMX airplane I've seen that I could actually like. But, damn, it's little.
Hey Brian you need to do some second thoughts on the UMX planes because your electric poles are down now and they are awesome planes. Always love your videos ! AWESOME !
I love your videos great content I watch 2 maybe 3 time just so I don't miss anything. Question about what plane next for me. I fly small planes because I can take them anywhere been flying for about 1 year with no crashes thank goodness lol. Should I get this plane or the Pitts what would your thoughts be? Thanks for making great videos.
I’m gonna paint mine, I have a new airbrush to try out.
do you think i can easyly fit a 350 3s in it?
Just ordered this, the Eflite 1.2 p-51 Cripes A Mighty and the 1700mm mfs p-51 with a upgraded motor for some extra climbing and speed 😎😍🤫 don’t tell the wife
Looks like a great little plane. I hope this leads to an updated UMX P-47. Not into the livery at all. It has already been coined as "unicorn vomit" in the HH video comments.
Whats your thoughts Mr Brian . ?? I just have to ride about 100 miles to get it Sir?
Wow that things fast, like faster than the UMX Pitts 3s fast…. Holy cow. For the love of god I hope some develops a micro retract servo lol
Anyone tried belly landing it without the gear? It looks like the prop would just hit the ground and cause a crash so I haven't tried it yet.
You could do it, but I wouldn't as the gear work so good, and I really enjoy wheels up / wheels down.
It's not a danger to the prop, just put throttle to 0% and stall it into grass, and you'll be 100% fine...so long as the stall wasn't 300 feet up ;)
"oooooooh noooooo.... everybody died." Hilarious. lol
Gotta watch out for that! ;)
Hello Brian,😁😁😁😁New Airplane super😉😁😁😁😁😁
Back in 2012 did you ever fly edge 540qq. Loved the 280 size and it was just barely bigger then this umx. This looks like a good plane for sure but the 280 size imo is perfection
Are rates assigned to a switch out of the box? If not, do I create duel rates on a switch by firstly going into ‘flight modes’ then assign it to a switch? Then go to ‘rates and expo ’and toggle the switch to bring up the flight mode for assigning rates?
Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance!
Great vid as per usual!
I don't want rates attached to flight modes, but many pilots might enjoy that feature, so I could mention it.
On UMX planes, some features are mixed into other features, but the radio setup, I believe, is pretty straight forward on this P-51...which is a great plane, but I look forward to the WWII livery, which may come out soon (I hope) ;)
Yes totally agree, fingers crossed! 🤞
Would you be able to add flights with other battery packs in the future so we can get an idea of how it handles if we choose to go with 2s? I have those 3s packs for my UMX Timber X but for instance my Cirrus that I just bought I have only 1 4s pack and plan on flying it with the 3s packs also because I have so many from when I got my Aeroscout. I will certainly buy more 4s but for someone like me I have to use what I have! My toy budget isn't as large as some. ;) (Oh forgot to mention you guys make great videos and thanks! My wife doesn't necessarily like being referred to as camera crew though!)
3S is the only way I will fly this, and other UMX planes, in general. If it'll take 3S but works on 2S, I find it almost a no brainer to go with 3S. Not sure if you've been flying long enough to remember the 2S UMX'es - they got the job done, but just barely at times, and now that we have 3S, I'm not looking back ;)
This is my rationale for saying NO - I don't often do it, but I feel it's a fair position, and good reason, but don't want you to think I'm upset with you, or something strange. I just think this plane deserves 3S power ;) Could it fly on 2S - sure, but I'm not going to use it
@@BrianPhillipsRC I should have asked this under the Cirrus video. I only own 3s for my UMX Timber X and it is my only UMX (I don't count the Night Vapor). Just getting back into flying after a 15 years or more. Things sure have changed! I can see your point about why bother with 2s especially since the 300s are so inexpensive. I was more concerned about the larger planes. Thanks for the reply and answer! I'm sure you have many comments to reply to so thanks for taking the time.
Brian, thank you for another great video review. I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Allen!
I just pre ordered this plane. Could you not program flaps into the ailerons through the radio
I tried and you can't ;( I tried as flapperons, dual ailerons - as per stock, that's an unfortunate no, but if you want to tear into her, you can try to make INBOARD flaps...not 100% sure if you'll need to get super creative, or if they left a channel opened for us.
@@BrianPhillipsRC good info from a great flyer!
can it land on the grass without doing an endover? They don't have many sporty park flyers anymore. They should bring back the sbach, it was a great plane.
Brian what's your favorite plane? Carbon Cub Z ?
Awesome, but I will wait for sale. lol
Great Video Brian "CRASH" Phillips & Meagan Phillips. How much for this little P-51D Mustang???
is my dx9 still good for a while? or is it time for the nx8?
Yes, as long as you can update firmware to have OR get FORWARD PROGRAMMING, you'll be good for some time. Also, Spektrum is good about keeping the "top of the line cards" updated over the cheaper ones. I can still update my DX18 Gen1 Firmware!
How do replace the prop on this fella?? Help!!🙏🏻😅
A little off subject but can you recommend a simulator that works on a Mac? My wife and I are going to fly a Sport Cub S2 for our first plane today, wish us luck
I don't know much about macs, but from what I hear, you can run Real Flight 9.5 on a Windows EMULATOR??? I can't personally verify this, but I've heard form other MAC people who know more than me. Might be worth looking into???

Does this plane actually fly with 2s?
What type of foam? Molded epp like both ultrixes?
This is EPS, I think...the UMX'es would be too heavy if they were EPO ;( Wish they were EPO, but they just don't fly as good heavy like that...BUT they are way more indestructible.
@@BrianPhillipsRC right, I checked. The Ultrixes are both molded epp though as are the toy grade warbirds by eachine.
Brian, do you know what scale the plane is? I’m looking to re-paint it
I wish I could say. It's small, and I can say the SIZE, but not the scale. I'm sorry to be totally ignorant of this detail.

"I got a voodoo and I’m preflight dealer on do not go down more than a few millimeters but they go up a lot is this normal? Seems weird. I contacted E flight they do not know."
I got a voodoo brand new the aileron Goes up properly but they only go down a couple millimeters this looks like incorrect aileron movement ? I did not fly it” I contacted Horizon they have not been much help”. Should the ailerons move up and down the same amount of travel like on a real airplane?). Thx
reconded to use headphone for best experience
LOL
I hope they do the Miss America!!!!
What is a corn hole? I've been flying 3d for 15 years and I've never heard of this maneuver before. Inverted snap? Is that what you're calling a "Cornhole"?
It's a REAL move, that we called a "Corn Hole" as a joke...but I think it's some mix on a snap roll.
Sorry for any confusion I might have caused, but it's just in good fun.
No worries. I'm assuming it's the inverted snap roll at full throttle that you do. I went to look back on the video... Cornhole it is. Lol.
Still waiting for FMS to get their P-51 Voodoo back in stock....if ever?
It is! Check this out...
