    Nice video! I assumed it would be pretty simple and straight-forward. Just got that guaranteed confidence on changing mine to 3prong. The lint warning was also a good idea before finishing this tutorial! I was aware of the lint build up inside the tubing and the exhaust end outside of the house, but didn't think of the lint INSIDE of the dryer! The one I purchased had a damaged lint filter, so I will for sure inspect the interior of the dryer first before starting her up. Those darn filters are surprisingly expensive! Subbed!

    So you didn't mention anything about the white ground cord. I'm assuming it's just connects to the screw that held the green cord in correct?

      The white wire was already there, it is attached to the center wire screw of the four-prong cord. He just moved it over to the grounding screw when he installed the three-prong cord.

    I watched another video where the white ground wire was attached to the center terminal and a green jumper was attached also to the center terminal then attached to the body of the dryer. Is another jumper necessary ?

  • @cryptoidman

    Good video, but you left out the ground wire and when you shopped at Lowe's you didn't buy hex head screws. You also didn't mention why you bought 2 different length screws; 3/8" & 1/2".

    You didnt show most important thing .Did you transfered a neutural white wire jumper from middle terminal and use it as ground attached to dryer body for 3 prongs cord?

    Great video.
    Just fyi on those screws 10 24 is not a length.
    10 is the diameter and 24 is the number of threads per inch

    I just got a Bosch and the 4 prong doesn't match the outlet. I have a salvaged 3 prong from an old maytag. I hope to Jesus it's safe to replace it. Otherwise I can't even open the door.

    Hello, where did you get the white cord to place on the green screw/nut?

    • @WasherDryerMoney
      @WasherDryerMoney  Před 2 lety

      Sometimes the white wire will be tucked behind the terminal block from the last person that put a cord on it that didn’t know where the white wire went. I’ve also seen people just cut those wires off. I’m not sure if some dryers just didn’t come with one.
      As always before you mess with anything on the dryer be sure to have a completely unplugged. Be safe

    Can we change the plug, take the old plug(in excellent condition) from our original dryer(Frigidaire) and install it onto a newer Whirlpool dryer?

    • @WasherDryerMoney
      @WasherDryerMoney  Před 3 lety

      Most dryer plugs are interchangeable. Where the plug actually connects to the dryer my work slightly different from dryer in the dryer. If you look around CZcams I’m sure you’ll find a video of someone change your name exact same dryer plug for you to reference.

      @@janonthemtn That might depend on the plugs you are interchanging, 3 to 4 or 4 to 3.
      Proper circuit for a 4 wire has a separate ground wire at the plug also.
      If changing from 3 to 4 wire, there will not be a separate ground in the circuit that attaches to the 4 wire plug. There will only be 3 wires.
      Might want to research.
      Personally, I don’t see why you cannot disregard the separate grind in the cord and leave the ground on the cabinet as it was with the 3 wire and tape the extra ground on the 4 wire cord or cut it then tape or wire nut and tape it.
