agreed, it was even reported on the E! True Hollywood Story some years ago that the massacre was quite over the top, "even for Dynasty standards" ..

How I would've done the Moldovian Massacre on Dynasty would be for Blake Carrington to wake up next season and realize it was all a dream. No, wait... that's been done.
Hadn't been done yet at this point. Both those storylines hurt their shows long term.
It would be a dream. Moldovia was a part of the Soviet Union back then and didn't have a monarchy.
@@t-bo2734 Well, Bobby Ewing's death had already hurt Dallas' ratings and storylines, and Patrick Duffy wasn't having much success after leaving the show. So they were damned if they did and damned if they didn't.

@@44excalibur All the prime time soaps dropped in the ratings after the 84/85 Season. Patrick Duffy should have stuck with Dallas if he couldn't take more than one year without acting gigs. The whole Dream Season 9 reveal was stupid. The Dallas producers didn't care if it screwed up Knots Landing's storyline in Season 7 and 8. Thankfully Knots Landing had better writers and producers so Bobby was still dead on their show.

I read somewhere that Michael Praed had to cut his hair for the role of the prince and he didn't like to do it. If you see him in the Robin Hood series, his hair was much longer.

Dynasty tried to copy from daytime. The doppelgangers were all the rage in daytime but it didn't work in primetime.
@@radrobd123 by being a primetime soap opera, Dynasty's whole premise was a copy of daytime soaps. That's what all those 80s primetime soaps were, compact once a week versions of the kind of stuff you would see on daytime soaps

I had a similar idea. If they sped up krystle double story to have Rita in Moldavia they could have had everyone on the show except Sammy jo thinking krystle died.

Amanda didn't love Michael, she "cared" for him. She loved Dex . Did you see how she hesitated for one minute. Michael Praed would later act on the UK Soap Opera Emmerdale as Frank Woodfield.

Did you ever see the spinoff series of Dynasty that he was in? The idea of showing Charlton Heston, Stefanie Beacham, Tracy Scoggins, Barbara Stanwick and Maxwell Caulfied, was to create an introduction for the new series called Dynasty II: The Colbys. Sadly, as well written as it was, it was given the wrong time slot and it only lasted one season. Lots of pleading for the one season of the Colby's saw it released a few years ago, but alas, it is overpriced because the studio thought people would actually pay a fortune for a one season show. It's priced at $66 and it's not even bluray.

Mark Gailmor, "The Colbys" was on for two seasons, then got cancelled. The last episode of the second season was where Fallon gets taken by the alien spaceship. After "The Colbys" was cancelled, Jeff and Fallon returned to "Dynasty". The alien spaceship story was referred to here and there, but never went anywhere after that. "Dynasty" was cancelled in 1989
This is awesome!! It was ruined by the close ups of Sable and Monica because the picture quality was bad and it did not blend well. But, most of it did!! Great Job!! Also, "Dynasty" had a different set of writers at different times. The writers had come up with the "Royal Wedding Massacre" before other writers came up with Rita switching places with Krystle. The wedding massacre was the 1984-1985 season cliffhanger, while Rita entered the storyline for the 1985-1986 season (actually Rita came along at the very end of the 1984-1985 season, but she did not switch with Krystle till the 1985-1986 season.)

This was my second favorite cliffhanger from the series. However, going into the next season was a BIG disppointment.➡Still waiting for a reboot of this show, with the same dialogue, with a 20 century environment.

Not great. You used footage from the Joan Collins miniseries "Monte Carlo"! You have Malcolm McDowell and Lisa Eilbacher (neither of whom ever even appeared on the show!!!!!!!) make appearances. Nice try but use appropriate images next time.
I agree I have noticed that to The Moldavian Masacre should stay as it is in that time a heart stopping over the top Cliffhanger and I still love it.
