The more and more I watch sneaker conventions, it seems as if people make little to no profit off any of their shoes. Do people just enjoy paying a shit load for tables and losing money?
likely anyone who has a table is doing well enough business wise to still make profits. Some of these sellers also did bulk deals to get the shoes, sometimes even getting them at or below retails. So even if they sell slightly below market they are still coming out $15, $30, $50 dollars ahead in profit. You have to also keep in mind that some people with tables are also there to buy. There is also the aspects of making new connections, and business partners, and getting your name out there. These things help build your brand in the long run and allow you to charge higher prices outside of the convention. One last thing to keep in mind is that dp is posting the good deals he's making, I'm pretty sure there are tons of interactions where the seller doesn't budge on price and a deal is not reached, but those scenes wouldn't be as entertaining to keep into the vid so he probably cuts them out.
