I kind of agree with Barry Switzer. If you can't get 4th and inches, you don't deserve it. That would've been a back-breaker conversion, shortening the game even more, with a fresh set of downs.
But I'm also a KC fan, and I know how uncertain they are about short yardage. They don't have a version of the Brady sneak or the "tush push" in Philly. Their best strategy is take the 3 points.
But maybe they wanted to milk the clock and keep Baltimore's defense on the field as long as possible. With Omenihu out, the KC front 4 was looking pretty gassed at the end of the game. Karlaftis was grabbing his knees and panting between the whistle and the snap.
Something I never noticed before, but it looked like Ravens offensive players were actually kicking Chris Jones in the shins as bodies were flying around in the box. It was like Muay Thai with cleats on.

Whats crazy is the kc defense has been one of the top 2 or 3 all year. Only balt gave up less points and only browns gave up less yards. When kc had a little hiccup in the season, most people wrote them off saying their wrs and offense was too trash. I kept saying, this is by far the best defense mahommes ever had and yhe wr corps was just as good or better than last years when they won the SB. Only real difference was replaced juju with rice.... which come mid-season when rice was acclimated was an upgrade. The thing i dont get is it was kcs pass rush anf especially pass def that was elite. Teams attacked them with the run all year. Balts bread and butter was run game and play action. Then in biggest game, they ignore the run game and play to kcs strengths. These types of things make it impossible for me not to believe the shit is fixed. I never had much faith in monkin, but hard to believe he is that dumb.

As I watched the game, I was surprised how much they(Ravens) were throwing the ball. Lamarr is certainly a capable passer, but it felt like an extreme amount. Especially considering it's raining a lot and the best thing the Chiefs defense does is defend the pass. They have two all world corners and love to blitz also have a unicorn on the D-line. Six rushes is just criminal. You should lose your offensive coordinator duties when you come up with a game plan like that. Felt like watching the Bills.
Note the two teams in the SB are the two that have mastered the balance of the run game. In a year when defenses came up with a scheme(disguised rush) that greatly lowered scoring and passing, smart teams adjust. The two best coaches in the league play for it all. I don't think coaching is as impactful as people think, but this year it's hard to argue it wasn't a factor.

I'm a Raider fan and all of Raider nation has been talking shit like we're going to own the division cause we hired a guy who coached linebaclers for 18 months and we have a qb who was worst in the league in away games.
Really hoping that this next Chiefs super bowl win brings Raider nation back to reality and realize without a top 3 prospect at QB we will never sniff anything higher than 3rd in our division (I thought we'd draft Anthony Richardson who appears to have everything he needs to be a Mahomes killer). Best team in the league (Ravens) got put on a dog leash and got dragged around all game in a season where the Chiefs were having a "down year".
Sometimes it feels like the Chiefs are doing the Warriors thing where they kinda fuck around a bit during these games and don't step on their oppenents neck first opportunity they have. Lamar threw multiple picks that weren't caught, that game could've easily been 30-10.
Anyone who wants to have a chance to beat this dynasty needs a guy who can sit in the pocket and deliver perfect throws. Lamar got antsy when his league leading run game evaporated and he forgot how to be accurate. If you can't be pinpoint accurate with pressure in your face every damn snap you cannot and you will not compete with this team.
Also, John Harbaugh with the greatest coaching plan I've ever seen - Let Kelce just play in our soft zone all game. Its not like the Chiefs blow every team out that plays zone d against em.... Didn't even see one bracket play with a safety and a linebacker both shadowing Kelce. Maybe don't let their best player sit in soft zones every damn snap Harbaugh. John must've looked at his stats and said to himself "No way he beats Jerry Rice's record. Let's leave him uncovered all game."
As the great Pepper Brooks once said, "Its a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for em."

The Ravens dominated the 2nd half in a very low scoring game, but not only tuned the ball over but on longs drives, 3 points scored the whole second half with a 63 and 74 drives when it meant something and 0 points and only 1 run in those 2 drives. It almost looked like Jackson was the option running game and he picked the pass option every time, Jackson had 54 yards and less than 100 total rushing yards, if you had that information the day before the game you would bet KC, it was maybe 40 yards below their rushing average.

@@Richard-mq7wf As a ravens fan the thing I envy about San Francisco is even when there’s an eight man box they will still run the ball unless it’s do or die and they’re down by more than a touchdown with five minutes left in the game. The Chiefs had the worst run defense in the playoffs maybe even in the league you’re going to have to show me that you can stop the run Baltimore ran the ball 11 whole times yesterday John Harbaugh Todd Muncan and Lamar Jackson got in the way of that. They wanted to showcase that they could keep up with Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball. Outside of Tom Brady no one could keep up with that kid Baltimore should’ve play with their strength ran the ball they were even times were Lamar Jackson he should’ve scrambled but it seemed like he wanted to prove he was on the same level as Patrick Mahomes when it comes to throwing the ball. Fuck what the critics think play your game and part of Lamar ‘s Jackson game is using his legs which he did not utilize yesterday, yesterday wasn’t about trying to prove the critics wrong or doing something you weren’t good at it was just about winning the damn game that was it.

They never gave up on him throwing cause they abandoned the run and im telling you , they thought without running ball , lamar will hang with mahomes thru the air and it was a narrative all day to prove to the world that lamar is better than Mahomes and he threw into triple coverage and the team had a meltdown and harbagh should be firing somebody. The referees also played a big part in the Chiefs win. 3 obvious pass interference calls that should have been called. We need full time referees or have the booth in NY make the call. Not a Ravens fan, but calling out what I’ve seen as a football fan. Maybe T Swift attending the SB made the referees favor the Chiefs because of the $$$$$. There isn't any real analysis being done here, everyone not named Berman and McFarlane just pushing the same narrative. Simms touched on it towards the end but started with a whole bunch of fluff early. Aside from not turning the ball over the (which shouldn't be understated*), what exactly did Mahomes and the Kansas City offense do in the second half (68yds)? The Ravens weren't better ON SUNDAY, but don't be an idiot and call Jackson an "overpaid little better than avg qb" - those category of players don't win two(2) NFL MVP trophies...
