I had a A22 after getting the updated mags. It shot great didn't particular like loading the mags. You can disturb the bullet with those mags. I ran across a mark II synthetic stock $269. Put around 30 cheap rounds down it then sighted it in with SK long rifle match and shot a 245ish with 7x on the ibs target. Very happy with the mark II's. Made a trade for another by giving up my A22. I felt like I needed to get away from those mags to get consistency. This is for match shooting. wouldn't be a problem for hunting or plinking for fun.

Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience. I question your front rest; therefore I will make one similar & do a comparison to a Harris bi-pod to sand bags. 🤔. Love that Boyds stock w/ Savage B22. I have a couple as well.
Your shooting technique looks good, not that I am an expert. Lol. I’m going with the wind. Shoot straight.

the rest has a sort of V cut in it and leather lining so when you put your rifle in the leather really grips well and the V kind of wedges the rifle in place, works really well.

Scope mounts are too high-- you're not getting a cheek weld- it's obvious when your head bounces as you're sighting. You're jerking the trigger a bit more than you should, finally-- keep your noodle in place on the stock when you finish the shot (it's called "follow through") and when you chamber the next round (could see your head bounce then, too). Group looked OK, but don't be afraid to shoot five shot groups rather than one shot. Five will show more of what's happening. Unless you're making a cold bore record, then shoot just one shot on one target and store it away. (EGADS-- just notice this was done two years ago. My! How time flies!)

How was the Boyd’s stock install? I also have a b22 fvsr thing drives nails been thinking about using it for elr22. It looks like my choice is mdt chassis or Boyd’s tacticool stock. I prefer the boyds but I’m a bit nervous about fitment. Don’t see any reviews on the b22 in a boyds and the one review I managed to find said it took some work to fit. Curious if there’s enough stock to support the front half since a lot of material is taken out for the rotary mag which I kind of loathe for this reason. Thanks for any help

it fit great, easy drop in and go. now i will say..... accuracy not quite as good as factory stock. i sent it to a smith to get glass bedded and pillar bedded. i hope that helps the accuracy. when i spend $200 on a stock that is supposed to make the rifle more accurate.... it better be more accurate. so we will see when i get the rifle back and can take it out for test.

@@jjgriffin3275 What did you use for the trigger guard/bottom metal? My b22 FV-SR is on order and so is the tacticool... It looks like the Savage stock trigger guard is part of the synthetic stock. Any thoughts? Thanks!

@@EssemG for my FV, when you disassemble the rifle, the guard is apart of the savage factory stock, the Boyds Heritage stock i got it has the cover on it already. thank goodness.

Did you ever call Savage about the A22 precision firing problems? Did you get a replacement? Good reviews.

i did call, and i did send it back to Savage. it is currently still with Savage. i sent it about 2 weeks ago, so hopefully i get it back in a few weeks, but with the crazy world i do not know. they said yes sounded like lite strikes.

@@shawnmathis352 i could have been the 1-million lemon? from what i have seen and heard the regular A22 is very accurate. just find the ammo it likes best. Savage was very easy to work with and friendly. so as far as customer service i would say pretty good. i have the 17 hmr target sport i had a barrel issue with and they fixed it fast.

I found that I do the same with my bolt guns. I've never had formal training for bench rest shooting with a bolt, but I do know you should not lift off when working the bolt. Funny, I did a comparison of my Savage BV to my Ruger 10/22 and stated that it wasn't a fare comparison because my shooting technique wasn't good with the bolt action.
