    As a person just returning back to the plastic model hobby, this was a very inspirational video and gave me the “heh, I can do that” vibe. Thank you. Honestly though, an earlier video you made featuring the Tamiya Bf-109F Trop. Version really got me thinking about starting building again. The desert camo pattern was just great. So I started my “need to buy” list from your very useful list of links(keep doing that) and hit a snag with the actual Tamiya kit itself. Sprues was out, Andy’s Hobby was out, and even Tamiya on their site was out. I can get my hands on the Bf-109G kit so it looks like that will be my first attempt, Lol. I don’t know if you will read this comment since the video is several months old now, but if you do, thanks for all your efforts. A newly retired, former military modeler returning to the fold.

      Hey there! Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed... and welcome back to the hobby! I just took a peek & it looks like all three Tamiya 109s are available on Amazon at the moment (at least in the US) if you're interested in grabbing one. The E-3 & E-4 models build up quite a bit easier than the G (just an FYI), as the G has a lot of different sub-assemblies to display the cowling open or closed. Happy building! 👍

    Hartmann finished the war with 352 kills to his credit. After the war, the Wehrmacht was disbanded and it wasn‘t until 1956, that (West) Germany built up Armed Forces and a Luftwaffe again. Bubi Hartmann was brought in and he went on to become a full Colonel. Often unliked by his bosses, he was always crirical towards combat efficency and didn’t like political games. When testing new jets in the US, he is said to have tested a jet beyond the flight envelope and crashed it, parachuting away at the last moment. When he was picked up, he is said to have uttered: „That is now 353 allied aircraft downed.“ 😂

    • @ashpitcher3
      @ashpitcher3 Před 6 měsíci

      Might not be all that obvious from the video but the wash remains in all the recessed panel lines and rivet details etc. It also collects around raised surfaces and adds a look of depth to the model. In some cases you can leave as much on the model to leave it looking quite grubby and heavily used or remove nearly all of it as you wish.

  • @GrzegorzBrzeczyszczykiewicz123

    Hey, quick question. Do you dilute the primer with water? I find the Ammo mig black priper and the valejo white ones need some drop of water to prevent the airbrush from clogging. Or is just the pressure that's too high? I'm kind of going back and forth with this stuff but always end up with a blocked nozzle.

    • @SpruesNBrews
      @SpruesNBrews  Před 8 měsíci

      Ahh yes, the ever-present clogged airbrush problem! You're certainly not alone, my friend. I personally don't thin my AMMO or Vallejo primers; they usually work well for me straight out of the bottle if they're very well shaken. I also tend to work between 22-30psi, which has proven to be a good sweet spot for me.
      Another possible fix... I like to remove the forward-most nozzle cover from my airbrush when spraying (the one that protects the needle from getting bumped), because I find that sometimes it collects paint & can affect my airflow.
      Hope that all helps! Happy building

Just has "green", "blue" and "red" setting 😆 But I seem to be getting the best results out of the middle color (blue I think it is). The loudest one which assume is highest pressure seems to clog up the airbrush most. Thanks for the tip with the forward needle guard. I'll give it a go. I wasn't sure if that was there to keep the stream more focused or just, as the name suggests, to protect the needle from bending.
