Best Tutorial about reading tabs. Ever.
What does it mean when there are these “( )” around a number?
Thanks for clearing the tabs portion up, when I had my first lesson in person, this was presented to me .

Great lesson thanks Kevin. Would love a lesson on harmonics 😊
I'll put it on the content list. Thanks for the suggestions!
I’ll look out for it Kevin, thanks xx
Thank you Kevin….a very helpful broad look at tab and maybe some Close ups of your finger moves would be helpful to see the slides,hammer-ons ,pull offs, ect techniques a little easier.
Noted!
Thank you, I’m enjoying your videos and learning lots. My question is, what do play when there are only three numbers in a column, I’m assuming you simply play it as a three string chord, thanks again.
Love youu kevin
It still confusing for me that names of the strings are from 1st to 4th, not from 4th to 1st.
And I have a question for anyone. When I try to play, for example, 3d fret on the E string, I have dead notes. Any suggestions how can I remove it?
Kevin, tysm for everything. U r the best teacher on the Earth. Love u
Thank you Kevin for this indispensable lesson and always well taught 🙂
Just to be sure, if I write here horizontally a chord, for example 0-1-2-3, how should I read it.... I always have a hesitation ....Happy Uke everybody! :)
Hey there - so to read 0-1-2-3 horizontally it would be: G-C-E-A strings from left to right and the frets would correspond with those strings. Hope this helps and thanks for learning with me!
Hi Kevin, if there are two 0's, on top of each other in a line, say on the C and E String, 2nd fret. Does this mean fingerpick the C anid E string , 2nd fret together ?
Thanks- on the slide from 3-4, do you pluck on the 4th as well or just the third and slide it forward?
Just pluck 3 and slide to 4 while the note is still playing
Hi Kevin. Just watched this interesting lesson but can't seem to download the pdf's on either my iPad or phone (android). I sign in, choose 'techniques' choose the lesson, click the 'download pdf' then am sent back to the sign-in page. Can you provide a 'remember me' button so that I don't have to sign in every time - I also get sent the 'confirm your e-mail' reminder every time....
Festive greetings to you and yours. Hugs 😉
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
THANK YOU THANK YOU! Now tablature makes sense! (finally)
Glad to hear it 👍Are you ready for some Chistmas songs now?

Thanks. Any idea why they do it upside down? This is like having dyslexia!
Hello, I just bought a uke, and I see the tabs on web have some x marks and arrows what does it mean? Thank you very much
X means don't play that string. - Kevin | allforuke.com
Kevin...what time on Fridays are your live stream....I'm from Ontario Canada so time maybe different depending on what state you live.
Starting in 2020, I'm thinking late afternoon. Was planning to start here soon, but things have been crazy w/ the baby coming and madness around the house. Where in Ontario? I love visiting your province. Spent lots of time on Lake of the Woods and other parts of western ON. Keep in touch - Kevin
@@AllForUke Well congratulations on having a new baby on the way. I live near Toronto Ontario Canada, not sure if your time zone is different from ours re: your live streams.
What about L
Chords to the intro?
So, vertical means strum?
A vertical line of numerals means chord. If they are written horizontally in a series, that signifies single note melody.
When the different frets numbers and fingers numbers are in a vertical line yes you strum them all down at one time if that's what you're asking
Tabs only give a partial view. How do you know what the timing is? Are the numbers 8th notes or Triplets? How do you figure out/see this in tabs? Like on your Pink Panther tab, what are the quarter or 8th notes? Is the 4 3 2 part played as a triplet?
This is a good point. Maybe I can tackle some of these questions in my next LIVE STREAM
:(( 7b, I can't see how your fingers put on the ukulele. So, I still confuse and misunderstand.
and How I play (2)
Thank you. I appreciate your lesson is slow. Some are too fast!
Wow.. that was rude everyone left you hanging on the chat
