Today I learned Laurie's cat is French and likes to cause Adam & Sullivan misery on House Rules
I love how everyone individually solved the puzzle from completely separate angles and essentially came to the same conclusion.
Laurie singing to his cat Terry is absolutely hillarious!!!
I was only listening to the audio so thought he was singing to Teri, the French assistant on other episodes
Waiting for the "ARE YOU EVIL" exchange for when Brooke and Sully are the demon and minion.

Smart play by Brooke, having to be mad about being the Savant but spinning it to still help the good team by suggesting there is no Pit-Hag.
You know what, I didn’t even notice that. That's really clever.
Man, everyone's info came together perfectly. Elliott seeing a dead evil and Brooke confirming no poisoning, the dead evil backing up a vigormortis, John's dream of Isaac, the barber swap, Lauri's juggle. Just an onslaught of great info.
It was nicely edited too, watching the different chat groups arrive at the same answer with different pieces of information, then putting it all together as a group and seeing it all lines up perfectly. As fun as it is to watch tight games with lots of twists, the way this solve came together was pretty satisfying to watch.
A comprehensive list of things that went wrong for the Demon/Minion duo.
1. Jon as the dreamer correctly picking the Demon, and getting Vigor Mortus/Savant
2. Blair as Cerenovus turns Brooke into a savant which seals a double claim, that will later be proven against the Demon
3. The juggler correctly guessing Sully as the barber and incorrectly guessing Isacc as the Savant, with no info poisoning in the game he is told correct info
4. Jon as the dreamer picks Laurie, confirms he is the juggler and that there is no info poison simultaneously
5. Sully getting executed causes Isacc to swap his role with Carley, both of them come clean about their roles
6. The Cerenovus unknowingly making the Mathematician mad that they are the mathematician, allowing them to make full use of their power to confirm to the oracle that they do not have poisoned info
7. The oracle, knowing they are getting solid info thanks to the mathematician, and from the confirmation that Sully was the barber thanks to Carley and Laurie, knows for a fact that Blair was a minion and in fact the Cerenovus by process of elimination since she is the only other dead player.
8. Because the mathematician confirmed that a Cerenovus was in play, and the oracle confirmed that the Cerenovus was a dead Blair, they both knew it was a Vigormortus.
9. Jon was told that Isacc was either the Savant or Vigormortus
10. Laurie knows as the juggler that because Sully was the Barber, and as he guessed Isacc as the Savant and was told it was incorrect, that ties Isacc dead to Vigormortus.
A ten step trip to the most complete victory for townsfolk I have ever seen.
You missed the step where the Cerenovus confirmed the Juggler was good when she pretended to be the Klutz.
Every member of the good team contributed in some way, even in just not doing anything.
1. Laurie in getting the correct juggle on Sully and incorrect juggle on Isaac getting him that one and only one of them is lying.
2. Sully and Carley immediately coming out about the barber swap, confirming Sully as the barber and Carley as the snake charmer (at least in the beginning) and giving Laurie the info he needs to go after Isaac.
3. Brooke revealing herself as Mathematician and revealing the existence of the Cerenovus, ensuring there's no pit-hagging causing mischief, and also confirming to everyone that no one is poisoned.
4. Elliot giving their oracle information that confirms Blair is the Cerenovus and that the demon must be a Vigormortis
5. Jon's Dreamer info outting Isaac as the demon and liar and confirming Laurie is the juggler (especially as there is no Pit-Hag).
6. Even Adam by NOT using his ability contributed, ensuring no additional drunken information through a bad pick nor contributing false information due to his own poisoning by the Vigormortis.
Don't forget Vortex being excluded by Jon's dream about Laurie!

My favorite part of Blood On The Clocktower is that there are actual reasons for lying. In werewolf, it often just comes down to "the only reason you'd say that is, is if you're lying!" There's so much info in BOTC and there's always a benefit of the doubt.
I often find it's 'I nominate you coz you have a beard!' ugh
@@Funkypanda87 If you mean you often find that in basic werewolf, yeah, that's true and very unfortunate, but also understandable as no one has much to go off of besides social cues, so you just vote everyone and see how they react
Rewatching this a year later, and I am always tickled by Laurie singing the lament of every cat-owner: "Stop being a butt; you don't need to be in here when I'm busy. Here, let me snuggle you until you're so annoyed that you leave."
I love Adam's under his breath comment, "I mean, surely, evil equals M C squared." I had the exact same thought. LOL
It seems like you all felt let down by this one - but honestly, it's great to see what happens when someone *does* stuff it, and it was still tremendously fun. I think if Adam hadn't pre-apologised I wouldn't have batted an eye.

The game wouldn't be very interesting without occasional results like this. Part of what makes it exciting is that you can snipe the demon at any time, it's just more difficult to do so early on.

@@SV-yo6nq I don’t consider the evil team to be underdogs, they have the storytellers on their side for large portions of the game.
@@SV-yo6nq Evil team are not the underdogs, they are the only ones who know exactly whats happening - they know what game is being played and they know exactly who they can trust, while the rest is stumbling in the dark. There is a reason why grandma is often picked by philosophers, because knowing anyone that you can trust 100% is a game changer.
I'm just here for Sully singing 'All By Myself' and the adventures of Laurie and Terry. And for Blair's cat randomly wagging it's tail across the screen 🐈🐈⬛

I love how at the end with the information in play Adam was literally the only person in the game without concrete provable evidence that Isaac was the demon and even he had a good idea. That was about as rough as it could go with how much went wrong imo.
Poor Isaac, he completely sabotaged himself at most turns. It was really interesting to see what chances *not* to take

Carley lies her way to get information from Adam
She wasn't doing that to get info out of Adam. That just happened to be a side benefit of her lie. She was lying because she had to.
Her role necessitates her to lie for the sake of self-preservation. If she survives to the end game OR dies early on, then it doesn't matter if her role is known by town. But if her ability ever actually triggers, then she basically instantly loses if she's told anyone what her role is, because the Snake Charmer *becomes* the demon if they guess correctly.
So if she told Adam that she was the Snake Charmer then guessed Issac that night, then Issac would become the Snake Charmer and Carley would become the Vigormortus. Issac would then immediately tell the town that he was the demon and was switched with the Snake Charmer, and Adam would follow that up by saying he knew that Carley was the Snake Charmer, so she must be the new demon.
It would be CRIMINAL to let all this wonderful Tom prose go to waste an unaired episode.

It may make for a short episode, but it is nice to see good actually get to use their abilities to just directly solve the case.
What was great to see from this is that everyone had a good game. I think the most intimidating part of werewolf type games is being on the evil side, and feeling the pressure to present the good team with enough of a challenge. You can feel like the enjoyment of everyone involved rests on you spinning a devilish enough web. Isaac and Blair are both exceptional players of BoTC, both made mistakes this game, and the good team still had a great time working together to solve the mystery. Likewise the evil team were never fully out until the vote came in, they always had a chance of bluffing their way out, and didn't give up before the end. Fantastic show as always everyone!

Oh no, the evil team was dead to rights after Blair "proved" that Laurie was good. There weren't any ways for team evil to bluff their way out at that point.

Quick game, but that can be the nature of SnV with so much good information and few safety nets for the demon. Good solve, good team!

I remember watching the trouble brewing episodes and thinking ‘how can’t they work it out it’s so obvious’ and now with this set of rules and characters I can barely work out what’s going on and I know who the evil people are
Isaac and Blair are usually so good at this game. You'd think they'd be a dream team rather than collapse right out of the gate. Really goes to show what a jump in difficulty this is from Trouble Brewing for everyone involved.
When Isaac and Carley have been on the good team, Carley has had it figured out and Isaac comes in and fucks it up.

If Isaac had cut it down to two with Dreamer and Savant it could have played very differently, but having three answers was already suspicious, and Jon just not picking up on him saying a role he could easily disprove (Dreamer, since Jon was the Dreamer) because it was buried in a group of three was the first of an absolute myriad of mistakes. Obviously the second night was a total disaster though, so I guess it didn't matter in the end...
I personally love it when the good team does well, so this was very satisfying for me.
These segments of people by themselves in the main room are just golden. Sully singing All by Myself is just amazing.
Btw... I think Sully can host a youtube stream all by himself without any viewers, and it will still be entertaining.

Sometimes the stars align so perfectly that you can see a great picture.... this was absolutely intreresting to watch how with only one or two wrong desition the whole gameplay can die a horrible death 😂
I watched another group play this game before the pandemic and I think it works better over video chat. It definitely helps that the No Rolls Barred members have a ton of personality which makes it a very easy watch.
Love how suspicious they are of Isaac giving 3 roles "like a demon would have 3 bluffs" but you often see people do a 3 for 3 in this game
I literally bingewatched all 4 of the other episodes yesterday. This couldn't have come out at a better time.

Basically this episode reminded me of the infamous "Tom & Jerry" skit where Tom puts a shotgun into a mousehole and it comes around to aim back at him. Its a strangly cathartic experience watching this episode.
I love how Adam just happened to have a pipe ready to go.

In a meta sense, it's funny to me that the balance of the game generally demands that the two storyteller ghosts, who were killed by the Demon before the game started, start off subtly supporting the Demon's team to help obfuscate information for them.
I know it's not feasible, but you could upload BOTC everyday and I would be so happy everytime I saw the notification. I've watched the others at least 3 times each by now and glad to have another to rotate through.

The Snake Charmer is a great example of using your ability on yourself. That would be a good thing to mention to new players when playing. Just another example of this game being absolutely brilliant.

Personally I think Isaac can overthink things. When he was Carley's minion as the poisoner he almost took down the whole team by not poisoning Brooke. I appreciate the gutsy plays though! Makes you look real smart if you get it right and real dumb if you screw it up like he did here. Regardless, it's a fun way to play!
I binged watched all these episodes in three days. I wanna see Sully in the bad team soooo bad. 😂

Funny how this episode is by far the shortest of the series up to this point so far, whereas the next one is the longest by far (chronological order btw)
I feel like the worst person ever for wanting to sully to end up on his own every time, but it’s just too funny!
I'm really loving this series. It's like a reality show super condensed.
In the end of the game, what went wrong for the demon got summarized quite nicely, but I feel like a few steps were missed, so I'd like to sum it up in a list of my own.
-Jon (dreamer) picked Isaac (demon) and while the storytellers guessed Isaac's choice correctly, Isaac has no way to be certain what the storytellers told Jon
-I disagree that Isaac being apprehensive about sharing his role was the mistake there. It makes sense that he wouldn't want to share it. The real problem however was that he gave 3 possible roles to Jon, which just screams "this guy is a demon".
-As a result of this suspicious interaction, Jon decided to not hold back any information on Isaac when talking to Laurie (juggler).
-At night Isaac allowed Laurie to get his Juggler information by deciding to not kill him now swap his role.
-By doing a role swap, Isaac did confirm that Sully was indeed the barber.
-The final nail in the coffin (though, it was a very rusty nail in a very secure coffin) was of course, Blaire (Cerenovus) claiming cluts and "confirming" Laurie as a townie.

29:30 brooke being mad about being the savant is pretty funny. I would have claimed my two statements were; no-ones ability malfunctioned & there is a cerenovus in play. i think that would get her mathematician info and being possibly mad across
After 2 sessions, I wish there was a stand alone video that went through all the S & V roles. And I hope the do one for BMR.

A suggestion: It might be helpful to viewers to point out/remind that the order of nighttime effects is on the screen in the red bubbles. I'm not even entirely sure what the blue bubbles mean...
Blue bubbles and red bubbles indicate night-time effects for first day and every other day respectively.
Ever since Carly debuted, videos are 30 minutes shorter 😏 I want my dummies to play like dum dums 🤥 but I do enjoy some smart play. I'll go get the popcorn ready 😄👌
She didn't even figure this one out. Lauri and Jon put it together and some bad moves by evil. She was really just a bystander this game.

@1D1-Myke So, there's always going to be some degree of subjective interpretation in a game with this many moving parts. The most important thing is that you remain consistent. I proc the Barber according to the barber's position in the night order. In the physical version of the game, there's a long list of characters for your night order. On this tool, it works it out for you.
