+Cosmic States that require front plates are just dumb. What is the point of them? When was the last time a cop looked in his rear view mirror to check out a tag? It kills the fascia in a lot of nice cars, there are some, however that could be helped by having one big-ass plate up front, like the new Lexus.
+Cosmic I totally agree, looks horrendous sticking off the side like that. Why not use the stock mount if you're legally required to have a front plate?
+pedrof830 don't know about America but nearly every speed / traffic camera / toll camera in my country works off the front plate. Either way having it off to the side like that looks meh

+kenmastersmaster Educate yourself before you spew nonsense. It's water. Water (mostly vapour) is a product of combustion. Do you honestly think that much unburnt fuel could get all the way to the exhaust tip without igniting somewhere along the pipe?

Wasn't too sure on the colour when I saw it on a BRZ, but I love it on the WRX, especially with the black wheels! Also just wanted to mention that I saw a noticeable improvement in your editing skills in this video, especially in the glamour shots at the beginning, and I like how you dubbed the exhaust sound into the song. Some states require you have one. I think placing it off to the side cleans it up a little but for some reason it looks weird on this subie.

Great review. I ordered the same exhaust set up which is set to arrive this Saturday. Glad to hear that it's not overbearing from someone who doesn't DD a subie. Luckily AZ is cool with exhaust laws so even if it was super loud I'd still be good, but I'm glad to hear it doesn't drone. Thanks!

I "love" the "opposed"motor. I have a forester (first subie) and am an aviation nut so, as you can imagine, I appreciate the opposed "flat" motors. Even my forester with a modest 170 hp with a 6 spd has decent power. These motors absolutely kick ass and my next car will be a wrx - not sure if I want an sti or not.
I feel you, started with an 05 forester (auto unfortunately) ended up buying an 04 wrx wagon manual a yr ago and currently looking at buying my buddies 16 wrx

I've owned many Subarus from 1991 to present and believe they are one of the all around best vehicles on the road. Combine the AWD, build quality and safety, efficiency, reliability, visibility and more and I bring up a valid argument.
HOWEVER. . . . The STI has been getting it's nose rubbed in the dirt in comparison with the late EVO 9/10, Golf R, etc. We are sitting at 10 years plus with the EJ25 and 305 HP. It's time for a new generation of engines. Come on Subaru, being us 350+ HP and a chassis to match. Everyone is using turbos today. It's time to stand out like you did in 2002 with the WRX in the states.
Couldn't agree more. I don't know why they didn't give it the FA20DIT. Maybe the next gen they'll change out the engine and bump up the HP. Until then I'll continue to hang on to my 2011.
Sti will be 5 k more with engine upgrade . You wanna pay more
Well sheeeeaaaaaaat. If it ain't broke, Don't fix it. This motor is literally 1 of a hand full w/ zero factory defects/recalls. literally, just type the year, make, and model of any car followed by car complaints.( ex. 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 car complaints)

Subaru needs to update their engines for the STI and BRZ. The STI engine has been the same for over 10yrs and Ford is launching there 350hp Focus RS that is ready to destroy the STI.
+Matthew D I agree, this car needs a major overhaul in order to continue to compete with all the new competition. I'm sure they will do it but will it be soon enough to maintain the interest levels it still possesses. I remember this car is what everybody used to talk about but since other viable options have become available I feel as though it's lost a lot of its hype.
For the 2017-2018 there going to be using the FA engine I believe and it's supposed to be around 350-375 hp stock :) don't quote me on the engine I'm not sure

I would be very suprised if Subaru increased the output by that much. I heard it may be using a hybrid engine with a 20hp increase. The Focus RS looks better everyday.

I just bought mine and love it...the most fun car I ever had. The plates are required where I live and I placed mine like the car featured. If we place it in the center, we need to add two additional holes! Off to the side allows us to have a front plate without adding any holes to a new car. The holes placed by the factory are for euro plates. I used color codes plugs.
I would move out of that state just for the front lic. Plate .
+machyne82 or just don't put it on. I know plenty of people who go without a plate in NJ and never have a problem. Same thing with window tint, it's illegal on the front sides and windshield, yet a bunch of cars sill have it here.

I just got the Nameless muffler delete on my '11 WRX Hatchback...sound is amazing...great choice for the new STi...those tips just scream in the higher rpm's

This review is very biased, hence his youtube tag, actually i wouldnt even consider is a review. I stopped watching it half way through and gonna move on to someone who actually reviews cars....pros AND CONs. btw i like how he never even mentioned the seats are manual...poopy, for a $35 plus sticker car and you get manual seat, but im sure you subaru fan bois will say its becuase of it being a rally car or something....rofl. what a joke.
