For reaaaaal, I was kind of exasperated, the test was about IQ, about something they already knew, simply as saying, how do you think you went on the test, or do the questions were difficult? what did you answer in certain question... Aghh that's why some people say we women are complicate

They talked about how IQ isn't an indicator of intelligence and sure, it's only an indicator of a type of intelligence. But they were ranking HIGHEST IQ. So the lack of basic comprehension skills displayed by some of them was just a bit disappointing. They took the test. They knew what kind of intelligence it would be ranking. So why did they keep falling back to things like emotional intelligence or humility, or just likeability. The interesting thing is, the highest IQ women also demonstrated the emotional intelligence not to get into an argument about it or push back because they knew it was a losing fight.
Also really sad to see the "winner" be so disappointed with her score. 100 is average. 112(or whatever she got) is a solid score putting her in the top quartile of people. So very likely 3/4 of the people putting her down have a lower iq.
It's always the people that are cocky about their achievements that are never in the top ten.

Yeah, IQ is about the ability to understand imo. It has nothing to do with accomplishments, and moreso to do with intuition and craftiness. Some of the biggest booknerds I've ever met had an average IQ, while some of my nonstem best friends are well above the average

Knowledge doesn’t equal intelligence, they do overlap a lot but you can be highly intelligent but due to lack of educational resources and/ or motivation not necessarily be very knowledgeable

@@sugaspice7684 Intelligence is mostly genetic, you can do an IQ test at 20, live 25 years going through advanced education and difficult technical employment etc, take an IQ test again at 45 and it barely changes, margin of error. So you end up smarter in a practical sense, but not more intelligent.

yeah, I felt like Taylor was smart, but I didn’t think she was “the one” because in all the clips they showed of her she was talking and trying to prove how smart she was, and it didn’t seem like she was trying to figure out the intelligence of the people surrounding her.
I felt like she could tell when people were more intelligent than her, she told a few girls not to leave who ended up in the top 10. She’s a smart girl, I think if they redid the tests she would place higher than 24.

Also no offense but she looked and sounded like she was either trans or intersex. Kinda funny the smartest woman in the room is the one that's a biological male or has a mix of male and female brain. If you look at IQ on a graph the women's IQ is more of a bell curve, meaning the average IQ of men and women is fairly equal, but when you go to the extremes there are a lot more really smart men than there are really smart women.
That's not necessary true but what is true tho is that: the most intelligent your are, the less likely you will say you're intelligent cause you realize how lil you know compared to what is possible to know.

I’m not surprised some of the higher IQ women self eliminated before 10. I think realistically speaking even if you’re number one you will be smart enough to know there’s always someone better
That's illogical. If you are number one, you know that someone has to have the highest score and that the chance that it could be you is not zero. Of course this chance converges towards zero the more people are in the group. The more people are in the group, the more likely it is that you are not the one.
I mean the chances you'd be the number 1 from 100 people isnt high. Secondly really smart people care much less about people knowing they're number one. They probably just wanted the test score
The girl who eventually turned out to be the smartest didn't actually want to eliminate herself. She was hesitant until she saw that no one else was getting out, that's when she decided to go.

The woman that was ranked 82 and she put herself in the top 10 didnt seem to understand what the ranking was based off of. She said she is smart like she knows a lot of things about a lot of things because of her adhd but that isn’t what is being tested on a IQ test

@@natalyarea9369 I agree. Still, she chose to not let a subjective number define her. I don't know if I'll be able to explain it, but let's say that's something that could have given her anxiety. Like, seeing the number could have sent her into a spiral. Choosing to not look is a smart choice in that scenario. Choosing to not let something affect you, especially something like this test which was not an accurate test, and her comparison is only to 99 other people, is not even practical in any sense in her day to day life. So saying something like "true courage would be seeing the number an not caring"... But it's not worth it to get anxious over something that's not even that important in the real world.

With hard work I think you can succeed anywhere. That being said, I think you would definitely struggle a lot if you had a lower than average IQ in a STEM field. There's a lot of problem solving which can't just be conquered through memorisation alone.

Verbal and spatial reasoning are the building blocks of IQ (along with working memory and processing speeds). These components are not intuitive for everyone. It's a scale! That scale is compared to other people and that's how you get IQ.

143 is really high, but people should understand that what we perceive as intelligence is not just academic abilities but a lot to do with the brain chemistry and structure , the person can have a high IQ but lack the will to achieve academic excellence or pursue a career involving intellectual abilities, so the occupation is not always an indicator for IQ and high IQ people can be interested in jobs or activities not involving pure science or maths like we expect
Guys please, the girl who got a first place isn't Arabic, and most likely isn't trans. She's Armenian, that name is a very classical Armenian name(I'm Armenian, so I'd know) and Armenian girls may seem more masculine, hence some of you might think she's trans

She wants to be no. 1 but she was not. So she kept repeating that "my friends think I'm the smartest" in order to get on that podium but she got humbled real quick. As a cognitive science major, this whole video was so interesting to me because going in I knew IQ tests focus on pattern recognition and problem solving first and foremost. It’s interesting to me how stem usually gets looked at as superior but you use pattern recognition and problem solving in the humanities too, so I wish the participants took that more into consideration too
I mean the stats are pretty clear, STEM is the major with one of the highest median IQ and humanities one of the lowest. Nothing demeaning, just real life stats so it would be safe and actually reasonable and pragmatic to assume what you think should not be assumed. But of course some STEM graduates are 100 IQ and some humanities graduates are 150 IQ. Just as a general rule that’s not the case.

This video was so raw and real. 👏🏼 nice job jubilee! The video’s comment section is crazy toxic I’m actually shocked. I felt no cockiness from any of the girls and was pretty emotional most of the time. We are so hard on ourselves already, why not show a little confidence in our abilities? But people would rather say these women should be humbled? Wild…
Nearly every reaction was so raw and valid, even the low numbers they were humble, didn’t let it define them. And high numbers why not be confident? Be proud of yourself and all the hard work and dedication etc. pull others up and that includes yourself.
I’ll just leave my comment again. If you believe you are top 10, your IQ should be known and they should not have a choice to not show it. You wanted to be up there, humble them.

@vistakay That may have been your intention, but look at the context. We live in a society that takes women less serious than their male conterparts, also by telling them they were "too emotional." Now, while it might have been a light-hearted jab from your side, it feeds into the narrative of women being too absorbed in their feelings. No offense to you, that might just be the reason why the other people reacted like that.
I loved this episode, all these women saying nice and encouraging words to each other is the sweetest and heart warming thing i have seen today.
After washing the entire video, I want to give Taylor some grace. Some people compare themselves to others, because of how they were raised various other reasons however, I am glad that she was able to learn a lesson that many individuals like myself have learned, which is to stop comparing themselves because you will never Know your full potential you're constantly comparing yourself to someone else who isn't you.

Crying at this. I love how supportive all these women were. I was raised to be a tomboy because my mum would warn me how “cliquey” girls can be, and I’ve definitely experienced that a lot growing up, but as an adult I see the beauty and strength in womanhood everyday, and I’m so grateful for it and all my fellow women. We are strong, we are smart, I love you all.

They only take it to heart in comparison with others. My dad was upset when he found out my score had beat his and my uncle's. I wasn't bothered, I only took the test for fun/confirmation after having passed the mensa test twice. To quote Groucho Marx, "I refuse to join any club that would have me as one of it's members." My dad had used that same line on the Pebble Beach Golf Club when they invited him to join after having refused him thinking that he was Jewish because of our last name.

So frankly speaking it seems more important if your level is extremely low, that means you require more attention to get a proper education from your parents and your teachers.

I admire the women who believed in themselves regardless of how they ranked. I disagree with anyone who saw it as cocky. Girls should be aloud to be proud of their accomplishments.
Seeing the amount of backlash on Taylor honestly hurts to see. Just because she's confident in her own ability or considerate of others doesn't make her "cocky" and "arrogant"... I will never understand how people can be so critical and judgmental of someone who is simply confident in their own abilities and considerate of others.
I think it was that she primarily relied empathy, being STEM, and wanting validation as grounds for her being number 1. Then to say “oh I told them I wasn’t but they kept telling me”, if she were genuinely confident she wouldn’t have defaulted to that response.

It is not just one test that gives you your real IQ. It must be a battery of test including interviews and interpreted by a pro specialist psychologist who can do it.

If we go by what it said in the end abot a Wechsler scale, they did a WAIS test. But I don't know if that can be administered in a setting like that. Kind of fishy. I did it at my psychologist and I think it took around an hour and she was adiministering it.
yeah its 10-20 points more than real iq test by psychologist or whatever, i had real one when i was 9, i got 112 and on online test i can get 120-130 lol
@mayoiko same. I got 115 on wais and I get 120-135 online. But my results on wais are iffy because I have 140 on one thing then I have around 100 on working memory and something else. From what I read online they can't do normal calculations with those results.

guys, just one thing, those are not proper iq tests, when doing mine adhd test the psychiatrist also tested for my iq, i had done one very similar to the one they're doing on the show and the results were VERY different from the one my psychiatrist did

IQ isn’t about learning from others or having knowledge it’s literally just about how fast your brain thinks and works and how logical you can be. I’ve done so many IQ tests with actual therapists and I’ve met SO many kids with “high IQ” over my life and many if not most were far from being humble or quiet
Want to point out the girl who was 99/100 being an IQ of 85. Thats still an average IQ, it's low average but still within average limits so she's still smart and I hope she knows that ❤️
Yeah the number two was like two standard deviations above the mean, the number 99 only one standard deviation below. I wonder if they skewed it that way on purpose, but I guess if the tests weren't done until they were there they couldn't have. More likely volunteer bias, I guess, for something like this.
I was in special education through high school. I got like a IQ of 60 to 70. It went up after going to college. The last time I check it was over 100.

This was so interesting to watch! The role played by extroversion/assertiveness in determining who stayed. But mainly the way that the women basically selected their leader/spokesperson through this process. It makes sense that the person they selected was the one who connected to the rest of group the best through communication, particularly by articulating feelings around self-esteem and showing emotional leadership to help the group transmute the high anxiety of the selection process. But this was of course not necessarily going to be the one with the highest IQ. The person with the highest IQ would be more likely to have an outlying perspective from the emotional experience of the group as a whole. There also seemed to be a group bias against those with strongly feminine presentation in the selection process.

Also for anyone saying that it’s possible for a person to read that much, I don’t think it is. Because especially as an adult you are working a lot and it’s quite frankly impossible to be reading more than one book in a day unless that’s all that you do. I’m a very fast reader and the quickest I can read a 350 page book is around two days so yeah. If u disagree then idrc

I felt absolutely horrible for Taylor. She was crying over not only her comparison, but the highly likely pressure and stress she was put on. It was very relatable, and I was very sad she had to get 24th place. She doubted herself, and not getting even into the final ten didn't help her.

The test relies on you not knowing the patterns which you may have picked up before even attempting the test somewhere else.

I wish they focused more on informing them about the IQ rankings because I feel like a lot of the women got caught up in where they were out of 100 rather than their actual IQ standing. Like the girl who was 99/100 had an 89 and that's an average IQ, so she is by no means not intelligent, she has a very common IQ. Taylor was 24/100 but 116 is considered to be above average IQ. But regardless, IQ doesn't determine you're achievement or capabilities, so ppl shouldn't use it as a sole indication of their potential as a person.
Olivia was 85 not 89, but yes that is still a totally fine and, as you say, common score.

IQ tests are often inaccurate (especially online ones), and even if they were 100% accurate, IQ is far from the most important quality someone has.

i think at one point she even thought she’d be first but knocked herself down a couple notches for the camera after hearing the girls in the top 10. you could tell she thought she’d rank much higher by her reaction. it was like her whole world view & view of herself shifted. she disproved her own apparent attitudes towards certain fields of studies with her own score lol
