    This piece was composed in 1850, the year after Chopin’s death, and is more of a Chopin-style Liszt piece, likely to honor his deceased friend. At some parts, it sounds like Fantasie Impromptu, and is constructed almost like a Nocturne. Very well done.
    Edit: It is a nocturne apparently.

      this can not be learnt by ear, period

    • @__jan
      @__jan Před 7 lety +17

      I disagree. Someone learning this by ear will never be as good as someone playing this from the sheet music. All the little details are in the sheet music, and considering the kind of piece we're talking about (romantic era), it varies wildly based on personal interpretation. A person learning this by ear can indeed copy someone else's performance, but unless they look at the sheet music, and see what the "base" of the entire piece is, they will never be able to interpret it their own way- meaning they'd lack the most important quality of a good musician.
      Copying doesn't make you a good musician. End of story. :)

    • @__jan
      @__jan Před 7 lety +14

      It might be possible, but the level of hearing you need is only found in savants. Even a person with absolute pitch won't be able to decipher everything- and it makes practicing the piece incredibly difficult. Overall, that's why sheet music even exists. Because it's the best medium to capture music and allow others to learn it. Audio recordings are far behind that. You might easily be able to learn some pop songs on the piano by ear- that I will admit, since there's really no denying that. But a piece as complicated and beautiful as liebestraum no. 3? No, that can't be done. Atleast not at the level as with sheet music. My point was never that it isn't possible, anything is possible, but that it will never be the same quality. No matter what. :)

      From personal experience, I would say this piece is very hard to execute. Not only the techniques but also the melody shifts between hands and those complicated expressions will make it difficult for you to perform it to the full extent. For this piece, what you hear is often not what your audiences hear. You can surely manage to learn it within a reasonable amount of time, but it may take some good time to sort of master this and be able to perform in front of an audience if you are just a casual piano player who plays for fun.

    • @xijinping1099

      Reality rupture The way the music is constructed is similar to a nocturne, with a simple melody and a complex counter-melody. I’d say it’d be a little bit harder to play than most of the nocturnes, but not too much harder.

    Liebesträume (German for Dreams of Love) is a set of three solo piano works (S.541/R.211) by Franz Liszt, published in 1850. Uhland's poem for the famous third Notturno is about unconditional mature love ("Love as long as you can!", "O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst"). "Liebestraum No. 3" is the last of the three that Liszt wrote, and the most popular. It can be considered as split into three sections, each divided by a fast cadenza requiring dexterous finger work and a very high degree of technical ability. It is one of the few showcases of Liszt's ability to create colorful music.

You just have to practice first on you’re right hand and then move on to you’re left.Its easy if you know how to read notes...hard part is how much soul or emotions you put in,that’s difficult for me (sorry if I’m late)
