Pharmacist NOT rude at all. This customer and her Dr are both ignorant, and RUDE. The pharmacist simply explained duplicate claims because the dummy Dr sent the script 2 different pharmacies without canceling one of them. And the patient failed to add her insurance at THIS pharmacy until the last minute, masking problems which could have readily been solved had the patient been responsible and proactive about HER OWN healthcare.

You don't understand how much of a pain insurance is when it comes to prescriptions. You have to call your insurance in this instance to ask where it was billed. There is only so much pharmacies can do. She can't pull your prescription out of her magic butt.
If people would just call on the phone first before just going over there and assuming that the prescription is processed at that location, etc., it would save a whole lot of time and headache for pharmacist and customer's. The pharmacist did explain the situation correctly: if a medication is filled at another pharmacy, the insurance isn't going to bill the same medication for another patient filled at another pharmacy. But, the expressions would probably be considered rude. Also, I do find it interesting that her mask was down while working in the pharmacy. That probably also made it a lot easier to see the expressions as well.

It's almost as if she actually wanted to pay money for her prescription instead??? And I don't know what this pharmacist has gone through, but I'd say shitty situations probably led to the pharmacist being like this by default and so by our standards, what she did isn't rude at all, because I've actually seen technicians and pharmacists quite literally explode on patients in ways I would rather not describe for situations more minor than "Your prescription is filled at a different pharmacy." As someone who knows what it’s like back there this happens way more times than you know. Most customers think that if a prescription was sent to another pharmacy that if they have their doctor send it into a new pharmacy then the old one disappears. NO IT DOSEN’T! The old prescription is still there, most likely still billed through your insurance and most insurances don’t let pharmacies refill the prescription until a few days before the patient is out of the medication. Depending on the medication patients will either pay cash price or use a coupon but if not then the patient has to call the pharmacy and cancel the old prescription. Which they can find out by either calling their insurance or asking the doctor. In addition depending on the medication, the pharmacist may not feel comfortable letting the patient pay cash price for it due to a risk of overdose or abuse. Which is their right when they believe prescription abuse may be taking place. Sure she may have had a serious voice, but pharmacies have several hundreds of new prescriptions a day, especially these commercial chains. They can be understaffed and heavily overworked. So please just have some patience, ask what is the best course of action to do, and then follow it.

Unfortunately if a medication gets sent to 2 locations somehow and the other place used the insurance for that medication if the other place tries to run it they will get a rejection. I just had this happen the other day it was so weird. Sorry you had to deal with that. I hope you found where it was filled and got it sorted out
The patient could have called her insurance to find out where it was filled. She then could have called the initial pharmacy for a claim reversal allowing this pharmacy it fill it through insurance. Patients need to be willing to do their own leg work.
@@Theodore81547 It's not that the pharmacy can't do the call themselves, but nowadays community pharmacies are so understaffed that they would rather deal with what's happening at the pharmacy itself instead of being on hold for a while calling another pharmacy, insurance, or some other place. Imagine making a call, unsure if you're going to be on hold for a few minutes or more, and there's at least a dozen patients in line, and probably another dozen in the drive-thru, if the drive-thru can even fit that many cars. I think at that point, they'd rather deal with the swarm that's glaring at them while receiving threats and insults instead of making a call that they don't even know will be answered right away. The pharmacy can't waste a single minute anymore. And the sad thing is, even if they called the other pharmacy, that pharmacy is likely understaffed as well and probably won't even get the phone right away, which is why the caller is likely going to be put on hold for a while. And that's also likely to happen to the patient calling them as well because imagine 5 more people ahead of them in terms of the calling queue. And sometimes, we get callers that take up a really long time as well. It's stupid but right now, that's the situation many retail pharmacies are faced with. And a lot of people keep saying "Why don't you hire more staff?" it's not like they don't hire. People get hired, they need to be trained, and in the midst of this training arc, many of them will see how shitty working in the pharmacy is, and they quit the job or find a better position, one way or another. That, and many of these companies keep cutting employee hours and increasing metrics, so it's hard to even staff properly as well. One Fred Meyer pharmacy I know needs a minimum of 11 people on shift to keep the pharmacy going, and that doesn't include the calls. 11 people is pretty hard to have walking around in the small space the pharmacy has though.

She didn’t seem rude to me, she did say that another pharmacy already ran your insurance when she tried to run it for your medication, if it wasn’t another Walgreens that I doubt the computer would tell her what pharmacy and where already ran and billed your insurance for that medication when she tried to run it through. Best thing to do in that situation is to call your insurance and find out what pharmacy did so they can reverse it for this pharmacy to be able to run it again to cover your medication.

That, and many of these companies keep cutting employee hours and increasing metrics, so it's hard to even staff properly as well.
One Fred Meyer pharmacy I know needs a minimum of 11 people on shift to keep the pharmacy going, and that doesn't include the calls. 11 people is pretty hard to have walking around in the small space the pharmacy has though.
@@matthewlee2413 YOU NAILED THAT POST. Just the other day we had someone get yelled at by customers and she ran out crying and we haven’t seen her since. I feel so bad. I think people need to take a step back and realize we want to help you but things take time and energy. Especially in a pharmacy. We are trying to fight for you but we ourselves are struggling.

She didn’t seem rude to me, she did say that another pharmacy already ran your insurance when she tried to run it for your medication, if it wasn’t another Walgreens that I doubt the computer would tell her what pharmacy and where already ran and billed your insurance for that medication when she tried to run it through. Best thing to do in that situation is to call your insurance and find out what pharmacy did so they can reverse it for this pharmacy to be able to run it again to cover your medication.

shes not rude, but she did have attitude and her facial expressions. thats not a professional face. they should have poker face. angry pharmacist. dont do drive through.i dont like customer service . crazy.

Aye If it were me, I would’ve called your insurance, found where they had the other claim, called that pharmacy to reverse it and had it ready for ya ASAP. Unfortunately retail pharmacy is a hit or miss, you didn’t luck out with this store.

The pharmacist may be right, but her overly animated and antagonist behavior is uncalled for and is considered unprofessional which is a violation of the board of pharmacy code. She could face disciplinary actions up to having her license revoked for said actions.
She was very rude in smirking and her facial expressions. I'm not surprised at all by that behavior, since I used to work at Walgreens many years ago as a tech. I'm glad I don't do that anymore.
