I remember the first time i heard Anne Murray back in the late sixites. She has and always will be my favorite. . I saw her in concert as a present to my mom and mother-in-law. At one point in the trip i thought how unfair of me to give a gift that was so much for me. By the time the first song was through they were as excited as i was. We spent two hours in awe of how great she was. As down to earth a person as there is. That gift was probably the greatest gift one could have given.
Has any female singer ever had a more mello voice than Anne? No not now and probable never will. She was one of the great ones. Thanks for the memories!!!
This is one of her best songs. We all know how saying goodbye to someone we love with all our hearts hurts. She just puts it down where all can understand.
I was lucky enough to get to see Anne perform in a fairly small room at a private corporate dinner back in the late eighties. She seemed to enjoy it just as much as we did, with a lot of interaction with the audience, all of whom seemed to be devoted fans. I've read her autobiography "All Of Me", and recommend it to anyone who would like to know more about Anne, her childhood, and her career. Thanks from another proud Atlantic Canadian.

Goodbye's and leaving whether through death, divorce, whatever the case may be, it is very difficult. It is change and change is hard to understand for most of us. It takes time, love and patience. I wish I could have heard Anne Murray sing live, what a thrill that would have been. What a powerful song this is....

We had love ... very poor , could not have cared less , we never asked for anything. Give us a pup tent, and life could not have been better. Forgot to mention , Tommy had overcorrected his truck , while "speeding' coming home to me...so we were married with a full body brace on ... 5 more kids later , still , through really good times and really bad times , love won out. Here we are now , kid's grown and grandchildren, we're both 70 now , 3 strokes has him in the nursing home , and I'm home with the memories ... a broken family , him there, me here , kid's fussing, hearts broken, lost in a world of confusion ...wondering where the love went ... and somebody always saying goodbye . I’m a man that is 61 and my wife is 63 two grown boys...back in 1986 I met the woman that God sent me my life soulmate..we married and i was first with her 19 year old sister single sister with a new baby she had from a man and i was 26 and thought she was the girl God had sent after a few months i knew she was not the one and her older sister DT which was about 27 was renting the house and I told Fl that i did not to be with her I wanted to rent the bedroom across the hall and did because FL was party girl big time and I gave that up 5 years earlier well a month goes by and DT caught my eye daily and she was an elegant woman and I started to melt in my heart every i seen her walking through the house and one day months later I married her she would just melt my heart Evie and I knew God had sent her to me...i was just amazed with her attractive features of her beautiful face her mouth her teeth and her little nose and her piercing blue eyes...but there mother and sister FL was all over my marriage to spilt us up and i got very bitter to then two and she got pregnant again i was know verbally abusing my wife and her me and because of them two so time went on we moved away and it was very shaky all the way till now and I realized the other week how much I care for her and deeeply are in love with her even though she shut me off from all romance three years ago she say because of medical reasons but it’s more her putting 3 5 things daily in front of me
One of my favorite gigs was working the arrivals at the airport...just to share in that joy of reunification of loved ones, albeit vicariously, was worth more than all my takehome pay
