    Question, what did your people use to catch critters before you had traps and snares? 40 years ago, I watch black and white a video of the Russians using dead falls to kill Martins. That video had to be from the 40-50's is my guess.

    I had lots of one Lynx trips like that. At least with the ACE the Lynx pays for the gas. Did the Caribou make it to you yet? How's geese season looking? Any avian flu?
    The music is not my favorite. I'd rather hear the ACE engine.

    • @enigmaticgwichin1630
      @enigmaticgwichin1630  Před rokem +1

      Oh yeah it’s nice to make at least one catch out there. This is the fourth winter on this 60 ACE on eco mode can’t beat the gas mileage. The caribou are really spread out everybody that’s gone out have only shot one or two it’s been a bit frustrating. But if we can get a few before the snow goes we’ll be good. Grizzlies are waking up. Kinda hard to show everything we do up here. A lot of people out there won’t understand. There are allot of geese landing in Fairbanks and they saw one flying around Fort Yukon south east of us about 50 miles. But we had a blizzard here that dropped 2/3 of a foot of snow and then blew it all around. Haven’t had an update on Avian flu. I’m a F&G management rep for my village. I would love to show more of the engine sounds but there are a lot of people that watch this that would prolly skip over those parts, not everybody is used to hearing a snow machines engine hum. I still miss the bravo-elan-tundra engine running sound sometimes. Lol

I have not trapped beaver, but I have shot more than a few. I’m not an expert at catching birds but it was something my people did up until about 70 years ago. Also not sure if you count setting fish nets as trapping but we regularly catch 5 different types of fish in gillnets and a couple smaller fish with on bank set hooks.
