lyrics:
Dr. David, telephone please. Dr. David
Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair, Dr. J. Hamilton, Dr. J Hamilton
(skit)
All alone now
Except for the memories
Of what we had and what we knew
Every time I try to leave it behind me
I see something that reminds me of you
Every night the dreams return to haunt me
Your rosary wrapped around your throat
I lie awake and sweat, afraid to fall asleep
I see your face looking back at me, looking back at me
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare
Is this all that's left
Of my life before me
Straight jacket memories, sedative highs
No happy ending like they've always promised
There's got to be something left for me
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare (Lies behind my stare)
How many times must I live this tragedy
How many more lies will they tell me
All I want is the same as everyone
Why am I here, and for how long
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare
Geoff Tate’s voice is the voice of my childhood. My brother used to play Queensrÿche’s records constantly when I was around 7.
This is The original Queensryche: Degarmo, Tate, Wilton, Rockenfield, Jackson. beautiful old days!
The only lineup that matters! Cant stand the new singer, not on the same level.
You really listed Degarmo above Tate brother?
No hate brother. Just want to know if you did it on purpose and if yes, why so?
@@axlegallardo I personally would've listed degarmo first myself, he was the main song writer of the band and the main ingredient that was queensryche.
Look how the band declined with his departure and you can even tell he was getting burned out before he left with promised land.
@@deathtothebots1 Duly noted bruh.
He made hie money and dipped. I have no idea why people think empire was their best album. Queensryche went downhill after mindcrime.
Now this is Queensryche!! Geoff Tate, Eddie Jackson, Chris DeGarmo,Michael Wilton, Scott Rockenfield, Bar none !! These guys had chemistry!! They fit in so well together!!
The chemistry between Tate and DeGarmo was legendary. This is Queensryche.
Yep. Tate said it wasn't the same after Chris left. But he felt like he'd done everything he wanted to do, and wanted to be a family man.
QR should have disbanded after DeGarmo left. They've completely ruined their legacy afterwards. DeGarmo was the most important creative element of QR.
Geoff Tate one of the greatest singers ever even live he can lift that voice
This dude has got the MOST POWERFUL lungs on the WHOLE planet! 😲
Ever heard of MANOWAR's "Black Wind, Fire And Steel"?
Might be the greatest tour of all time for me, to bad I was to young to see it
I saw it 2 different times in Boston & Providence it was awesome
I wish the last 3 minutes went on forever. Such great drums and guitar! Turn it up to 11!
You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten...
i was todays years old when i discovered queensryche, what an amazing band !!
One of the biggest regrets I have is not seeing these guys back in their prime. I would pay good $$$ just to listen to Geoff Tate recite the phone book.
I saw Geoff with his band last year and he's still got the pipes.
I've been fortunate enough to see them twice with this lineup. When they opened for Def Leppard in 1987 and then on this tour. If you think this sounds good here, it's nothing compared to this live. Probably the best concert I've ever seen.
Saw them one time in '88 opening for Metallica.
Absolutely AMAZING live band. Geoff Tate is unbelievable. God, I wish I'd seen them back then.
I saw this show in Buffalo ! I claped so hard at the end of the song my hands hurt! The most intense concert I've ever seen.!
I saw it at the Richfield Coliseum near Cleveland. It was an amazing life experience.
@@CheapRobot I was there in Richfield too! (RIP to that venue). Best live performance I have ever seen. Wish there was a bootleg of that show.
Clapping is ghey
Probably one of their best songs.
Wow!! What a performance!
I was there and it blew us all away
Queensryche was unstoppable at this time! Absolute brilliance..
Incredible live band!!!! One of the best in their prime
Excellent..💋 I Miss Our 80'90's Killer Kickass Music😍🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😋🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😋
The best band I ever saw live
Same here, and I've seen hundreds!
best band ever!!! recorded or live....
This sounds better than anything recorded today
Without awesome people like the ones who post these moments in history for all of the world to cherish and relive, we would never witness them again. Thank you.
Yes we would. This comes from a performance originally released as a VHS, then DVD.
@@AndE667 who owns vhs or DVD in 2021? When was the last time you walked in a blockbuster? Cause everybody has access to these right? Ok guy.
@@piratestyleadventures7185 I'm from Europe, so I've never had the pleasure to visit a Blockbuster. But those of us who actually love the music and wish to support the groups we enjoy, still do buy the physical products because that is the best way the support the groups you love.
Grom, I go to shows. I've seen everybody. Nobody's making money on selling hardcopies in 2021. Waay primitive brah.
@@piratestyleadventures7185 Your stupidity is only surpassed by your ignorance. Keep going, yankee boy.
My first concert in my life...Queensryche in Rotterdam,The Netherlands 1994❤❤❤❤❤
There are very few songs are as intense as this. Queensryche, the BEST of the best of the 80's metal bands!!
Jaw dropping
Saw this show in Dec 1991 in Long Beach! One of the most amazing concerts I have ever seen!
Saw the Building Empires tour in Denver both nights in 1991. Unbelievable show. Queensryche were forever an opening band and this show was what they always wanted to do now that they were finally headlining arenas. I believe they started with an hour of songs from the other albums and then they did Mindcrime in its entirety. They were never better than this. Incredible band and I miss them.
This is the most coolest thing ever.
Greatest underated song period !
One of the greatest and most legendary shows I've ever had the privilege of being at....
Phenomenal in musical and vocal prowess🤘🏻🤘🏻
This song is so badass I have tears it makes me want to punch somebody that’s how badass it is
My god man, you're so tough, I wish I could be as tough as you.
@@Hellwyck really what a asshole he is
I would let you punch me just to be a part of this experience bruh. Lol
heavy metal 🖤 🤘
The only band that mattered in the 90's....they were a killer band live
I remember listening to their first album back in 83 . My friend brought it over ,and said these guys are going to be huge . He was right my 2 favorites were The Lady Wore Black and Queen of the Reich. Later comes along Operation Mindcrime ,which changes everything . In my eyes its a masterpiece . I lost track know how many times i have listened to it. Great songs great story you really feel for the characters. If i could only have 1 Queensryche album this would be it .
'
Their promised land album 8snt too bad, it's definitely not mind crime or empire for that matter. Rock on
These guys were incredible
Saludos

What a great song and sound. Miss these days of Queensryche 🤘
I miss the old Queensryche and damn that Building Empires Tour was fantastic- saw them 3 times!
Could not expect less from Queensryche back at those days. Perfection.
I seen them at a small venue in Iowa decades ago. Anyone else notice how relevant those old graphics are even in today's current state of affairs?
I got to see this live. Definitely a cherished memory!
It must have been a damn good one
I Remember Now!!
I saw this tour in Hershey, PA. Had only heard the "Empire" album...and LOVED it.
For those familiar with this full concert, i was one of the people who was "wondering what the hell is going on". Needless to say, it became an instant favorite album.
Part of me wishes i could go back & attend that show with an experienced ear but i soon realize that it wouldn't be the same mind blowing experience.
I'm from Portland these guys never let us down in PDX!!!!
Scotti Rock!!! Killing it on drums!!!!
ohh the 90's: 24fps and very saturated colors. I love it!
This live version has so much more depth to the original studio version, IMO.
These are the best sounding live drums ever!
Live Crime is an amazing video and CD. The mixing is great. The drums kick! Saw this Queensryche several times in the 80’s. First time opening for Metallica on the Justice tour. Incredible band
wow man...awesome concert...awesome band...
The part at 5:42 replacing the fade that appears in the album version still sounds amazing 30 years and hundreds of listens later
Queensryche es la Ley!!!!!!
People say the classic or original line-up is always the best. N yes it nvr disappoints me
Unfuckingbelievable these were the days. Headbangers Ball with Rikki rocked so Hard. Headbangers Ball a big pile of blow I miss those days so much. Thank you very much for posting this EPIC Eyes of a Stranger.
This was life!!🤟🤟
One of the best bands.
Oh, how I love the ending of this live video!
Fucking Queensryche!!!!!!!!
I don't want to be too hard here. There are unlisted prices for cymbals. I remember - you need to get to about $405,000 a piece for Paiste cymbals to sound better than Zildjian.
Meu ano novo começou ótimo com este som ❤😊
WOW
Quem está vendo em 2021
Damn they absolutely nailed this performance. Particularly Geoff hitting all those notes perfectly. What a shame things ended the way they did.
Anyway this is on my Favourites list now and will be getting a LOT of repeated plays.
the best song of the group. unfortunately, they have not created a better one.
Masterpiece!! Magnus Opus!!
DAAAAAMN
Geoff Tate is amazing, best I've ever heard.
Stand up for our national anthem! Never stare into the eyes of a stranger! Truer words were never spoken. Hails Queensryche! Hails Op Mindcrime
О этот голос.. эта музыка!
Good performance but Geoff cut out the Vibrato on “Stranger”. I’m sure to save his voice throughout the tour but listen to the studio version and you can tell a difference.
It's a shame that Geoff's voice had already started to decline by the time they recorded this. He still sounds very good here, don't get me wrong, but imagine this show with 1984-1988 level singing...
Then again ,,,,,,
That was Queensryche in their prime. The album that most bands wish they could have made. Chris DeGarmo left at the right time but he took it all with him when he did.
Umm, have you heard Hear In The Now Frontier? That was practically a DeGarmo solo album and it sucked. And the songs he provided for Tribe weren't a lot better, The Art Of Life is one of the nastiest turds I've heard
@@AndE667 Promised Land ain't bad, but it's kind of the end of an era for Queensryche. While I like Operation Mindcrime II, it wasn't to the same level as the original. Their EP and the first 4 albums are where it's at.
@@ikill4klondikebars Mindcrime 2 isn't exactly a Queensryche album, though. More like Geoff Tate & friends, featuring members of Queensryche
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
3:31 - 3:39 “train of consequences” solo
Chris looks like a young Uncle Ted in this video.
Por favor 🙏🏻.
Chaps!!!
O entrosamento entre DeGarmo e Geoff
Geoff is playing the rock house in stl in a few days
this was rock what happened
Tell me this part at 6:00 would not fit perfectly as a hole for the years 2020-2022!

Maan....what a performance.
Anybody who know why degarmo leave the band?
He was tired of it, and wanted to do the family thing. He became a pilot after Promised Land

Kinda like old race car drivers … don’t make em like they used to… Tate was epic. Still is!

He could still sing but probably not like back then
Tate comparisons Kiske..
What?
Crazy to think after empire the band went to total shite...well ok maybe thats a bit to out of order. But overall the rest of there albums before tate left after empire were so poor. Would have never expected that to be honest. I thought they were gonna get even bigger.
So much better than the queensrych cover band with dude that can’t sing like this.
