This is the origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. To be honest I don’t find the robot deer weird because of Oynx Prime being the reason behind some Cybertronians and Cybertronian wildlife resembling Earth creatures and other alien species
On top of that, it’s always been weird with whether or not cyberton has wildlife. In G1 they had plenty of names we just never saw anything. Then in cyber verse we have Soundwave catching laserbeak from a flock of birds, and we also have stuff like the dweller
Afterall, the 13 Primes are fragments of Primus' spark or rather his soul.
If they go by Alpha Trion telling the beginning based from the comics, Primus and Unicron werent robotic as they were pure cosmic beings. IIRC during the last days of their battle, Primus tricked Unicron onto our plane of existence as the universe is being born and sacrficed to have them both encased in asteroids
Not to mention turbo foxes that mirage used to hunt in g1 continuity
Not to mention Beast Wars existing? Beast Wars has been a thing since all the way in the 90s cartoons of the transformers franchise, starting with the Armada trilogy. Whether or not they have their own will and conscious is a different story~
Beast transformers have been a part of teh transformers universe since the BEast Wars. We see it in Transformers Cybertron anime, The Robots in disguise and various other Transformers tv series. It is a fresh start to see that tehre is or was wildlife originally on cybertron. After all, they are a mechanical race given life.

When I saw the trailer I also thought about Transformers animated! People are so quick to jump the gun and hate on it when the story seems like it will be handled similarly to animated-some people just can’t comprehend a story can be two things at once
Hopefully over time one will be looked over as fondly as animated is cause I still stand there’s the chance of good story telling by simple fact there starting with d-16 meaning the inevitable downward path to megatron
Yea, I will be a bit wary, for the story part if it goes right. But, still I’ll go see it for myself. After all we can’t just judge things immediately all the time.
EDIT: After all even this universe amazes me for what it showed in the trailer, it feels like a bit of animated and beast wars. Animated, bc of how we see a decepticon insignia on D-16’s arm and under some rubble that he looked at. Beast Wars for its organic life, and animal cybertronians, including how one person mention Onyx Prime (I think that was his name) for the wildlife to come about.
Thank you! Finally! I hate when people say something is "childish", but it's capable of telling amazing stories. Idk why people hate on animation, it can give stories so much more than what they were meant to be.

That’s what I was thinking when I saw it. When I heard the synopsis a while ago, I thought “this isn’t Bayverse, this is the War for Cybertron backstory!” and seeing the style they’re going for and Airachnid’s presence solidified it.
Especially with Airachnid and the Vehicon designs.

So one thing I noticed that not a lot of people are talking about is that in the last shot where Bee and Pax transform, Bee does his signature twirlkick transformation that he does in the Bayverse.
Jazz also did that
I think he also does that on the Cybertron games
I think it's more reminiscent from Dead End's transformation in the WFC game
Alpha Trion actually had that transformation before, in the Titans Returns figure he transforms into that unicorn-lion mode and a battle ship.
They made him triplechanger a lion and jet mode
you know that's a pretty deep reference

The way the deception logo appears on megs shoulders, I think it may just be like a tattoo at first, that Megatronous may just be his hero and he wears a tattoo of his head. Then as his morals change throughout the movie, the symbol becomes a rallying cry for those who feel oppressed and want to take cybertron leadership down by force, so Meg’s adopts the full symbol and coins the name Deceptions. And then he becomes Megatron.
You're absolutely right! & to add insult to Orion Pax's injury, Megatronus Prime / The Fallen saw D-16 turning to the dark side & decided it's time for him to reappear either as a Spark Ghost or completely reawakened & manipulate D-16 from within, just like how Palpatine manipulated Anakin.
The amount of rage to the initial release is awe inspiring. Like lads give it a chance

This is the TF fandom. No one gives a chance to anything ever until it actually comes out. Just look at the reaction to Animated's initial reveal for an example.

It looks like shit and in no way represents G1. This 40 year anniversary and the lack of legit G1 design is appalling. I’m thoroughly disgusted and embarrassed and in no way will I support this movie. If I had 3-4 year old, sure, maybe but this does not represent on the level as anything G1 or prior to it. This is more Earthspark junk.

My theory is that the movie will reveal that it was the Quintesons that killed the 13 Orignal primes effectively killing the cybertronians Gods and replacing themselves as their Gods
That way the creation story of Primus and the Quontisons can both be true

Optimus is actually a miner as well in this. This trailer makes the movie look very comedic but I thinks it's really gonna have a dark tone bc megatron is gonna turn on optimus, start an evil faction, and start a war. And plus the system the quintessons have them under. It's not gonna be all jokes
Cybertron having its own ecosystem complete with wildlife is a rather interesting concept, although it does sort of make the planet feel more complete.
The way I see it, this is another Mario, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire scenario. The first trailer is going to give some controversy, but it will be well received by the fans when the movie actually comes out. Either way I'm excited!!

People are already worried about this movie but I'm not. Yes it's different from what we had in mind *but it's still amazing!!!!!* They clearly did their research because I had no idea who was the Transformer that grabbed Orion and D-16 was. The idea that Cybertron is still under Quintesson rule, that some Transformers were forced to have their T Cogs removed, and that their rebellion against the Quintessons also leads to the rise of the Autobot and Decepticon war, *IS ALL UNIQUE AND AMAZING!!!!!!!!* I also really liked your analysis of Megatron's possible point of view of Megatronus Prime and the origin of Starscream and Megatron's chaotic relationship.
I just noticed arachnid among the vehicon guards at 12:21 (to the right of sentinel near the top). i guess this means she'll be working for sentinel like an enforcer or hunter. definitely cool concept!

That would be awesome-It would be interesting because I’d imagine then that she joins the decepticons later in the movie so she can keep ‘hunting’, especially since her ruthlessness wouldn’t be accepted by the autobots

I’m genuinely so excited for this movie. I don’t know why everyone was expecting a transformers movie to be like the IDW comics. Or the aligned continuity. I genuinely think that this movie will be good. It’s a creative departure. Comedy has always been a part of mainstream transformers media. My whole family loves transformers and we’re all excited. I remember being skeptical of spiderverse in middle school. And I don’t intend on making that same mistake twice. So I’ll keep an open mind! I like the movie so far
It is almost like that they forget the vibe around G1 series, like OP playing basketball or sheningans of Cons 😂
It will always be a mix of comedy and angst with tf and that is what makes that franchise amazing

After watching this video, I'm feeling more optimistic about this movie. The amount of easter eggs here is reminding me of the Sonic and Mario movies, and it shows the animators clearly had some passion for the Transformers franchise.
I like your theory on how the rise of Megatron and the Decepticons could play out. With everything else in this trailer looking so happy-go-lucky, I reckon this Optimus and Megatron coming into conflict with each other can be a real gut-punch for new audiences if they play their cards right.
y'know, what I beleive the movie is gonna do is that its going to explore the origins of transformers, I can't quite recall G1, but I do remember the quintessons created the autobots as workers and the decipticons as warriors, the autobots and decipticons were sick of the quintessons and over ruled them and defeated them, then in a few years or maybe 100 years (I don't remember the time frame) the autobots and decipticons start to dislike each other and then they reach the point where they start a civil war. What I beleive whats going to happen in this movie is that they are going to kind've explore the transformers origin and put it as either the first half of the movie (Judging by a few things probably not, maybe the entire movie is about the origins of transformers) and then in the other half of the movie they have the autobots and decipticons start to have conflicts with each other, causing them to fight in a civil war. This is what I beleive COULD happen, this is just a theory that could happen.

I've got a feeling Megatron is going to take one of the Quintesson ships and turn it into the Nemesis, because they look very close to the Nemesis' design from the G1 materials.
Maybe they could go with the Trypticon backstory like TFP Season 2, or simply just an ordinary ship like in Netflix’s WFC Trilogy (minus the energon sapping plot line of course). But I feel that your theory is the most likely one :)
I think Sentinel Prime might have a similar role like in Animated where he is Cybertron's new leader and has gone corrupted with power. He might be working with the Quintessons where he made some sort of deal with them. Kind of like in Animated where he made a deal with Lockdown.

How much you wanna bet that Cliffjumper starts off......already deceased?
I get the feeling that the big battle from the latter half of the trailer will be a Cold Open Flash Forward at the start of the film. It'll establish the Autobot/Decepticon war, with a scene of Starscream on the throne but vacating once Megatron arrives, likely saying "I was merely keeping it warm for you Lord Megatron." After that it dramatically flashes back to the bulk of the film showing the origin in a "How did we get here?" way.
Although the Logo is similar, the Logo on D-16's shoulder isn't exactly the Decepticon Symbol, or at least not the finished/final version of the Deception Symbol, it's a bit different if you look at it in different scenes, so it's still very possible that D-16 takes that Logo's inspiration and when her becomes Megatron he turns it into the official Decepticon Symbol
Megatron will still most likely be starting the deception faction in this movie, it'll just be that the symbol already existed, being megatronus's face, and the D-16 uses his face as the symbol for the Decepticons, and is where he gets his name from, Megatron.

in IDW 2019 , it was shockwave who started this particular terrorist
group called "RISE", Which megatron secretly took over leadership by beating shockwave and changed it to decepticons . they might have taken that route
Yea, but instead of Shockwave it’s Starscream who gets it (like Comodin said in the video), which would be a very nice in-universe explanation of why Starscream’s always betraying Megatron.
hey , what if Megatron DOES start the deceptions in this film. What if the deception logo in his shoulder is a tattoo he made resembling the fallen's head because like you said , it was like an idol to him , and decides to make it his symbol for the deception faction when he starts it .

I’m thinking it’s gonna be like TMNT Mutant Mayhem. It’s gonna be really kiddie at the beginning, but then will delve into darker tones towards the climax and ending of the movie
Most of the background looks like those neon music covers, it fits so well to in the background, and I know most people would already know.
This megatron reminds me a lot of the G1 first draft of Megatron with the black helmet.
The reason Alpha trion is called a changer-class is because it's a mainline figure, so it won't necessarily follow the size classes of studio series
I absolutely LOVED this trailer, keep hearing people who obviously only have seen the live action stuff, complaining about the comedy.....like this franchise was not made for sell TOYS and for KIDS....ALL TF media always have comedy......even the LIVE ACTION, like Bubblebee have bee trashing a house as a child like prankster, and the first bayformer had Bee peeing on and agent.......just relax posers. I'm so excited man, the art style and design had that mix between Animated, Prime, and Cyberverse and even Earthspark, and feels like home, seeing Vehicons again remind me so much to TF Prime, I really loved this I hardly can't wait.

Also. Did we not ask for more lighthearted stuff? Does nobody else remember how the fanbase reacted towards siege? I understand that show had a lot of other problems other than its tone. But it was still a huge issue for a lot of people. I think people need to chill out a bit and just understand that the team at hasbro does listen. But they have a lot of other stuff to take into consideration!
I noticed one of the lines Orian Pax says in the trailer was a reference to the 80's movie. "I accept those terms" which is a callback to when Megatron says "I Accept your terms" towards Unicron in the 80s movie, before hes reformatted to Galvatron.
For anyone wondering, the Cybertronian writing in that shot at 2:18 and 3:07 etc. says "ha'ls bar" in the yellow and green. (I think maybe they put the apostrophe in the wrong place? Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a typo in the Cybertronian in a show.) It says "mine" in purple, and there's a wild yellow "k" off in the distance.
Maybe the bar could be a reference to Macadams from Cyberverse and WFC Trilogy. Thanks a lot for the translations.

The clip at 8:23 could be a tribute to Hot shot from Animated. He had wings similar. A lot of the designs seem to be mixing in every other universe together, while keeping up with the OG 80s anime face style. I'm absolutely in love with this series so far!
I'm really hoping we get to see Tarn, like I hope that he's one of the first to join the decepticons alongside Megatron!
I hope we get to see Sideways again. Not Bayverse Sideways but something like Armada Sideways (his Armada story and design is just so good).
Sentinel Prime also has something of a double cape, just like in Dark of the Moon.
Hey comodin cam, I've been busy and haven't watched you in a while so I just wanted ask how you are doing. Hope everything is going well for you. Thank you for always delivering great content.
I'm amped for it. Ther's so many awesome callbacks in the trailer. Megs looks like his Marveel Comics iteration before donning his G1 look. And at the end of the movie, I think they're going to match up to the bots we all know and love. The humor is good and this is a good way to bring in new kids to the franchise. My daughter already wants to see it.
This will do very well with the younger audience as well as us old tf fans as well. Definitely will be big when it releases. Fresh and strategic approach for the franchise. Something new was needed. The live action movies have really underwhelmed each release, and the goals with these films are filling theaters, seats, and toys. I think it will be humorous at first, but as the movie goes on, it will have a much more serious tone with the characters you know and love.

5:20 in most continuity's he doesn't start the decepticon faction it's not just a bayverse thing.
In G1 it is stayted that there were decepticon generals before him and in beast wars Megatron says the decepticons were started by a ancient and bot megatronus who he and G1 megs took there names from.
In the aligned continuity it's megatronus too he's literally called the first decepticon same with the IDW continuity.

And it's no different in this film he will take the group starscream has and get it off the ground it seems like starscream just has them stagnant in the wilds of Cybertron.
He did the same with a terrorist group in IDW i think they were called The Rise they were completely separated from Megatron until he started giving them supplies and ideas while being against them publicly and slowly he molded the faction of terrorists into the decepticon.

Actually, Bumblebee and Elita One don’t have their T-Cogs yet in 12:30 since Bumblebee has his pre t-cog colour scheme instead of the gold and blue one late in the trailer.
My guess is that Orion and D-16’s Jetpack stint is what brings them to waste management at the start of the trailer as some form of punishment, where they meet B-127 and Elita One (although she may be called by her original name, Ariel, in the movie) and then the film plot kicks off. Act 2 might be rebelling against the Quintessons and Act 3 might be the start of the actual Civil War between Autobots and Decepticons, and Airachnid’s presence suggests that Insecticons may be involved too.
We also get some references to the Tranformers toys, especially with Optimus and Bumblebee. Optimus’s head goes down into his body and his legs twist at 15:14 like the toys when they transform (especially his core class toys) and Bumblebee’s arms are linked to his wheels in almost all of his toys.
Multiple references to other Transformers media are also evident through designs (many of which you spotted and I didn’t) and weapons. Bumblebee gets his stingers from the animated series and Soundwave and Starscream have their G1 designs, with Shockwave having a design more similar to Cyberverse. Of course Airachnid appearing is definitely surprising considering that she’s an original character from TFP (if I am correct), and her legs and sub-arms have definitely been redesigned. Bumblebee’s pre t-cog design has his G1 color scheme and his head lacks the horns, going for his “ears” that debuted in the Bayverse movies. Megaton gets a new fusion cannon design with 3 barrels instead of the usual 1, which could mean that his fusion cannon is more of an automatic weapon of sorts.
I wish we got the gladiator megatron. Shit was dope

The Alpha Trion toy in Expanded Universe was a redeco of Beast Machines Snarl, so a beast mode for Alpha Trion isn't _entirely_ without precedent.

Great breakdown! Very excited! Alpha Trion was a weird lion/ unicorn thing in Titans Return
One thing I've noticed is how Orion and D-16's bodies change when they become Optimus and Megatron. The T-Cogs already filled the gaping hole in their chests and gave them some more weight and height, but Optimus outright looks like he got hit by a growth spurt with the Matrix. Head has the full spikes, broader and larger chest, more shoulder plating along with the smoke stacks, thicker arms and even kneepads from that one shot we see.
Megatron looks like he grew a goatee and has a sharper and blocker design in the very short look we get of him.
Looks promising, and I also really love these new Cybertronian designs.

IDW comics were dark and gritty, this looks comedic.

It's hilarious I was just on Instagram when I saw the poster and I was thinking to myself, it looks good but there's no way they will bring Airachnid back other than IDW... is the universe mocking me or something?!
interesting detail on 12:20 shot. When we see Zeta Prime with vehicons from Quintesson point of veiw (under Quintesson i mean) we can see that Airachnid is acthually on Zetas side (right upper side of the groop. Also 8:19 shot of dead bot looks like Darksteel from Transformers Prime movie. 0_0
I've always thought Starscream is like an upstart that climb his way to 2nd in command, nice video by the way 👍👍
I've literally seen people complain that it's animated and not live action. Literally no thought on how that would even work, what Live Action is supposed to be with no human characters and on a completely alien planet.
I'm so happy to see original designs in an original cybetron with newer takes on the whole cast

The trailer kind of reminds me of more than meets the eye's comic's tone. I think we should all give this movie a chance
you know the last part when we see the 2 bots who were talking, was jazz who resembles in his wfc design and the other bot I think was arcee in her transformers prime design.
Orion was a dock worker in the G1 animated series.
I wonder if they'll incorporate that in this film.

It's impossible for the scene of Megatron looking downward as Megatron and the brand being used on Megatron, as D-16 has the Decepticon insignia on his shoulder throughout the entire trailer.

Im excited to see more of Cyberton. We have been asking for more of this planet and now we finally get it. And no humans means more time to flesh out the characters that matter, actual transformers

I could’ve sworn black arachnia and airrachnid are the same character just with different retellings of her origin. Transformers does it all the time with characters that aren’t solidified in canon or even with characters that does have canon backstories. They did it with arcee in the IDW comics recently too. The officials transformer guidebooks considered them to be the same character but with different origins based on the timeline
As much as I hate the kiddish tone and the somewhat goofy art style of the characters, I’m holding out for the film to fully come out because, by the looks of it, the movie appears to have a HUGE tone change halfway through when D-16 finally becomes Megatron. Every shot of the Decepticons and the war between them and Cybertron looks exactly like what I wanted from a fully CG Transformers film. I really hope that the kiddish aspect of the movie is only a part of a small portion to reel in the younger audiences (and also to show a more light hearted side to Optimus’s and Megatron’s relationship) and the majority of the movie has a serious-dark tone.
transformers has always been “kiddish” with serious undertones. it wasn’t until the bay movies that transformers became a lot more dark and edgy
The thing is CGI Cybertron is very difficult and high level budget

Honestly I really hope we see more of Starscream. He's my favorite character and I would love to see how he ended up serving Megatron, which I don't think has been even mentioned at all in other shows. I'd also love some more in depth stuff about him, such as who he was and what he did before the war, and maybe even show us how he became known as the mischievous, backstabber second in command of the Decepticons.
