Welcome Back! I enjoy every edition, please keep them coming.
Just to confirm, all of the Diablo engine WERE 4 valves per cylinder! Another nice show guys. Thanks for posting. Now do one driving the Reventon Roadster please
Two of the nicest most interesting car guys around! I love this series! Looks like Jay was enjoying the Carrara the most during the drive! It gets my favourite choice for this episode.
We love these videos. The chemistry between @donaldosborne and @jayleno is excellent.
That porsche is amazing!
The Corvette reminds me of a Motorcycle with loud side pipes and the Porsche sounds true & correct!
Saved the best for last ! Yellow Porsche is Awesome
Jay steps on throttle, conversation pauses while passengers listen to the sweet song. Knowing that my wife and copilot will not be reading this I can say out load, damn I could use some of that at times!
Love it !!. It is so enjoyable to watch these episodes. Thank you for doing this.....
Jay we love you and you do a great job sharing the beauty and fascinating details of so many cars I will never see. I would like to remind you and others that the East Coast includes Canada, and summers are beautiful & somewhat more comfortable in Canada. After 2 years of COVID we would love to see our US friends so many of whom are also family. Jay you need to see the Cape Breton Highlands & fall colors for yourself. What a backdrop for lovely automobiles. Cheers.
Oscar and Felix are still motoring about town????
Well done to you 2 😊👏👏
I enjoyed it immensely 🤠👍✌
I'm so happy to see a new season.
Fantastic episode! Love the Porsche and you can hear Donalds voice undulating with the road undulations similar to Aaron Neville's Vibrato! 😂❤🏁
I just found this show today an binge watched most 2nd season. Incredible show keep videos coming subscriber 4 life.
They're Back!
Best opening E.V.E.R.
Jay stomps on the RSR and poor Donald has to stop mid sentence and wait for him to finish haha that was classic!
Jay, While not competitive internationally the 427 Cobra won many races nationally including several SCCA A Production championships.
Absolutely love this channel. Have said it before…the best of both worlds, Jay and Donald are the perfect match. The Audrain is on my to do list this summer. What a wonderful mix with the homes and cars. East coast enthusiasts rejoice!
Thanks, always enjoyable 😉
Brilliant!!
Excellent job gentlemen...
I could listen to Jay and Osborne shit on restomods allllll day long. Thank you for expressing my own thoughts exactly lol.
Love to see these episodes. Keep up the good work 👍👌
Dear Jay, as a prof for organbuilding and acoustics, your comments on the sound were interesting to me.You pointed out that those side pipes make it sound like a 4 cylinder as you hear only one side, being so close. This partly is, subjectively, a correct impression but you might be interested in the real facts. That "fundamental frequency" of an engine at a given rev.level , exactly as with reed organ pipes(trumpets, bombardes etc.), needs a resonator whose length is accordingly correct to the note's frequency it has to spread, and such allows the fundamental, then the first, second and third harmonic to sit in place and be in intensity, correctly displayed, so to give the whole impression the correct "timbre"(ask Donald to explain you this as a singer).Timbre(sound color in French) is the complete construction of harmonics over a ground tone, called fundamental, and every acoustic phenomenon has this, every instrument, organ pipes, and as well the human voice, and as well a car engine. As the side pipes are so short, the fundamental of the produced sound is underdevelopped, and by this you hear merely only the upper harmonics(that this shorter length of resonator-pipes is only able to transmit), and as we know, the upper harmonics are octaves, fifths and thirds for the first ones, this configuration puts out that the first harmonic(the octave) and the second(the fifth), in relation to the basic sound of the engine(fundamental) is doubling the frequency, respectively tripling, and this 1st harmonic overtone, and even more the seocn(5th) would exactly be(not considering other components), a much higher "timbre", closer to a small engine.Take the same car and engine, and put no matter what kind of straight glass packs or even muffled exhaust pipes right through to the back, and all would be totally different and the fundamental would come out as it should, much more proeminent than its upper harmonics. Bravo Jay, although you couldn't explain it technically, subjectively you had a perfectly sensed explanation of what's going on and why you didn't like the car's acoustical presence. And for the rest, i don't like the car throughout and the Audrain series shouldn't show such a thing, it's not because it's in the cllection that it goes with the idea of the Mansion-series.
Matter of cam you can put different it's gonna run smoother.
Jays home In Newport Is extraordinarily beautiful. One of the most beautiful homes In the world. Lake Geneva Wi. Is known as the Newport of the west.
I took a sip every time Jay said riiight. I passed out at 35 minutes
The way Jay dresses reminds me so much of my father - denim, T-shirt and sometimes a jacket on top of it. 😅
But he never got to drive cars like these, let alone own them.
Brilliant video! Thanks so much for making these
The older I get the less I love loud motors. I guess our hearing gets more focused in the mid range. Don't get me wrong I still love the sound but it hurts my ears more. When I was a small child my uncle Dana had a bug eyed sprite and I love that car and still do but it hurt my ears. I still remember it and the was in the 60's. Now my V twin motorcycle is causing me some grief with it's drag pipes (that I didn't install). I love the bike and I rode it today but it's loud. Oh well with the problems of the world I guess I am blessed so I will shut up.
Mr Leno has driven so much stuff he is never overawed and able to deliver an objective opinion.
You can tell Jay did not care for the Vette. He let Donald drive lol.
Fantastic happy to have the show back!
I have really enjoyed watching this series. Thanks for making these videos!
Keep them coming, please
The RSR tribute takes the crown on that one
Underrated channel!
Porsche is beautiful my dream car
Modifications to this Vette make it look better!
Donald is allowed to drive? Ha! Great series!!!
I'm not sure what the cause/culprit is - but recently everytime Mr. Leno is in Newport he seems to be wearing a sports coat... is Mr. Osborne's style wearing off or is it Newport? Great video, very enjoyable.
Hello Donald and Hi Jay . Well l had already seen a taster and enjoyed the Porsche and Corvette . Have to say the Lamborghini is a leviathan and not on my must buy list . Surprisingly l was still drawn to the Porsche . Like you Jay, the side pipes killed the Corvette stone dead ! And "Ocean View " was suitably impressive !! Thankyou Gentlemen .
Great stuff here, as usual. Love seeing the sights of one of our favorite local spots, Newport,RI!
All of New England, at least the wealthy areas, are just about the best places to live in the country. Very low crime, great local economies and schools, high tech jobs, and a real community spirit. Most of the rest of the county isn't like that at all these days.
Fun episode! Great seeing the RSR Tribute on the road.
Love that RSR.
Yummm! Is that Salmon!
Kudos to the editor(s) for syncing the out of car shots and the in car audio. Such a specific thing, but I always notice productions missing it!
I'm not a "porsche guy" but that RSR clone was doing it for me for sure.
Good to see Jay sticking to his guns about restomodding , I agree too, but tbf that's rsr is cool
The limited edition SV’s are all such amazing cars. The Monterey is my personal favorite aesthetically, the Alpine edition is more of a living room car with the Snowcorn interior. The Jota Americana cars from Burtoni are just god tier.
You can rebuild the vette again all electric. Leave the pipes on for decoration if you want.
You know what they say... "If it's too loud, you're too old." I'm in that camp now, no side pipes for me, I want to hear solid lifters sing. I love that RSR, too bad about the frog eye driving lights though.
Love it, love it 👍🏻
Jay, in fact the Cobra 427 did win races in the AP class of SCCA Nationals. As a much younger person, I watched Ed Lowther accelerate and coast around Marlboro Raceway in Maryland outside of DC. It was quite a show of power.
Love the yellow 911!
oh i like these vidios
My favorite part was Jay trying to quiet the passenger seat noise in the RSR by driving it harder
Awesome video...I take it other 1%'ers don't like denim.
No road racing in Newport lol . I live in MA and we have 4 inches of snow today lol 3-9-22 lmao :) :)
It's good to hear Jay criticize a car finally. On Jay Leno's Garage it's only positive talk.
Love ur show. Question, y would people use those side mufflers? Look pretty but must be a headache after 10 minutes.
Jay hated that modified Corvette! 😁😅
It was funny to hear Jay not like the restomod Vette.
Where the hell did this podcast come from…Subscribed immediately!!
If I'm not mistaken, Jay thinks that Corvette is too loud - LOL
Another fantastic video.
1.000 thanks, Guys.
Jay eating pizza and Donald Osborne sipping a Chablis?
However, it appear that he is eating meat. Therefore, Red Wine was in order.
For Sure, it's meat !
He is handling meat silverware -- not fish silverware.
Even allegedly Fancy Restaurants in the US do not feature Fish Silverware.
The Acmee of European Culture -- the Fish Fork-and-Knife Silverware
The Top of American Cuisine -- a Coke and a Monster-Burger
Oh, How I Miss Those Giant Burgers.
And Brunch at the IHOP ! Starting with OG and Silver-Dollar Pancakes.
The US is a Gourmet PARADISE, featuring a wide array of World Cuisines -- from Austrian and Albanian Restaurants, to Zâmbia or Zimbawe fancy eateries.
I digress !
It's late, I didn t have dinner and I'm starving....
Thank you once again, Jay Leno and Donald Osborne.
No Cars for me today -- on this side of the Atlantic, I'm getting up and marching into the Kitchen
That Vette was a attempt to replicate a Chevy version of a 427 Cobra, at least that is what one of my fathers friends said as he modified his 1967 vette almost exactly like this one in the 70’s…except his was blue!
The Diablo was always a cool car. 😎
Was that pizza truck wood fired?
If so, that's amazing!
Indeed it is! Check out www.amanopizzanpt.com/
What's with the band clamps on the intake plenums? That's not factory
Jay let Donald drive for a change.
The house was bought in 1935 and remained in his family for over 90 years??
Odd that the man who owns a 427 Shelby Cobra replica(since the mid 80's) and a first gen Viper (from new)would critisize and proclaim his dislike for side exhausts in this video. I have noticed though that his opinions on certain cars seems to change depending on who he is talking with. I would imagine If it was Tim Allen in that Corvette with him he would be telling us all how awesome the sound is coming from those Hooker sidepipes .
Yea, I never thought a 427 sidepiped Vette sounded like a 4 cylinder. But he's right in one respect ,side exhaust hurt performance more than it helped it.
Jay, you drift over those yellows even without an extra wide ;)
Never a fan of the Countach/Diablo. Much prefer pre or Audi Gen Lamborghini. Made a fellow's day when I correctly recognized his Jalpa driving through the streets of Newport while on a visit back in the 80's. Only one I ever saw on the roads.
Shame to see a 67 Vette that's been messed with (other than a race car).
Porsche by a mile for me.
The 911 dash is confusing me. Is it a 912 with an extra dial or a 911 with one removed?
These guys should do an episode called “Things that are pieces of crap”, featuring a run-down house and a Yugo, a Gremlin, and a Subaru 360. Just for laughs lol.
Would love to see Lehman Keen hustle that RSR in anger. It sounds the business and is easily my favourite car of the bunch.
34:46 - Had to start from that time hack several times.
C Mon Jay step into it brah 😜
I saw Osborne and Leno, I thought maybe Jay was hanging out with Ozzy
The vette is nice , i agree with jay , not a fan of restomods , when it comes to sport cars I prefer the real thing :) :)
327 Chev Stingrays 24/7 for me. Build them up. Have fun w/them. Or swap a 400 horse 350 into then.
lol replying to my post but whatevva!... the 454 was a pig (BIG RV engine) and ridiculous under tuned gas hog engine why not roll with the 440. ?????
In 1998 the Viper had 450hp.
Hey Jay….learn how to do the R I Slide. I’d love to see you trade wits with Judge Caprio on “Caught in Providence”.
I agree that the vette is over the top with unappealing mods. That generation of corvette are stunning as was. Leave them stock. The Lamborghini isn't my cup of tea, either, but the RSR replica is just fabulous.
that pizza looks good
It certainly is! Best in Newport!
www.amanopizzanpt.com/
@12:35 Donald explains that the house was "...purchased by an architect in 1935 and remained in his family for over 90 years." Ummm, not sure how this has happened yet?! 😂
no seriously jay, tell me what you really think of the corvette restomod
Jay let Donald drive???!!!!!
🍕 PIZZA WINS
Every time!
NO FORK 'n KNIFE
A 1972 911 with 500bhp? That’s why wives take out that extra life insurance. Frighteningly unnecessary. I may say 300bhp is above adequate. This chassis is a dedicated understeerer that gets squirrelly in the corners if overpowered or mishandled. The 1980s versions were called The Widowmakers for a reason.
But a beautiful example of a faithful homage.
Light makes might
I'm confused by the weird right hand drive Corvette. And how is Jay driving without a steering wheel? What is Donald's steering wheel connected to? Something strange is going on. I can't put my finger on it.
Pixel short film. Atleast on a 43 inch tv.
42 seconds in and laughing my tail off
4:45
The Diablo with 500?? A rocket
I always liked the look of the Corvette but if I need a tank, I want steel, not fibreglass. If I want a sporting car, I want something light and zingy for the twisty part of the county road on my way to my house in the woods.
The corvettes I’ve driven are just unengaging. They corner like pigs, and, unless you are drifting, they aren’t a joy to drive.
In the time period of each car the driver of the Lambo wore loafers barefoot and lots of hair gel.
The Stingray Driver wore a wool letter jacket, had grease under his nails and an expired 6 pack of condoms in the glove box.
The Porche driver knew exactly what he was doing in buying their car but unfortunately wore white socks and sandals.
Cheers 🇨🇦
A great line...
Are you a Boulderite?
Damn that Corvette is loud ... had to fast forward
1st car I fell in love with. Diablo mmmmm
