I have pieced together this set, and it was surprisingly cheap, especially since I wasn't interested in any of the dwarf figures (and man, I'm happy I didn't have to deal with buying expensive figures only to have them fall apart). I got a third party sticker sheet and it all came together very well.
This is one of the few retired sets I really have to fight the urge to spend stupid money on. So cool though that you’re opening and experiencing the builds after having it for so long, breaking pieces aside. I kinda have a feeling “The Shire” will be a new expert set at some point in the next few years. I really hope so anyway.
@@thegreenbrickYeah brittle brown bricks are very unpredictable, different temperatures affect them also. Delightful set in spite of that! I read about the designers experience developing it on Brickset and it was surprisingly touching :)

Good decision! I love the dwarves, but not when they’re breaking! I would love to see a CMF series for LOTR to include some dwarves.
I bought this set for $365 prices very but this set is a must have i think the prices will increase to 400 soon its crazy man but glad i got it now

Yeah, I’m sure we will see it recreated at a larger scale and with more detail. My guess… within the next 5 years.
Great set with a lot of green bricks :)
Good point, it is! Good to hear from you!
I bought one but I had no issues with any bricks or mini figs breaking tbh
Hmm, perhaps the plastic made in my set was from a different factory than yours. 🤔
