6 OF THE VERY BEST 1000cc RH SIDECAR GRASSTRACK RACES 13

Here we go with another 6 classic 1000cc RH Sidecar races. Race 1 comes from the famous Rhodes Minnis circuit near Folkestone. Paul Whitelam makes a great start, but is soon chased down by John Halsey/Jason Glenie and Ivor Matthews/Mick Stace. It's a breathtaking last bend by Ivor Matthews, but would it be enough to get by Halsey & Glenie? On to Race 2, and we take a look back at the 1st semi-final of the 1995 Berks Bonanza where Alan Blewitt/Barrie Metcalfe have a tremendous battle with Rob Wilson/Tony Miles. The 1996 British Masters Qualifier run by Reg Blackbourn is where Race 3 comes from, and it is Reg Blackbourn that provides another great race, when he and Terry Phillips go head to head. Race 4 comes from the Ugley bowl in Essex, and Trevor Colvin does battle with Mike Day, and a finish that was very hard to split the pair. Race 5 and Mark Edwards, Phil Pitman, Dave Steer, and John Hiscock have a 4 way battle for the lead at 1st round of the British Masters from Abingdon. We finish with a bit of controversy and drama with the A Final of the re-run of the 2003 Bonfire Burn-up, where Ivor Matthews/Mick Stace get away from Rob Wilson/Ian Whale, John Halsey/Jason Glenie.
