For people who never "saw" what happened, they sure are hell bent on putting Karen Read away instead of "finding" out the truth.
This
It seems the in group simply dislikes her, and once he was killed she was a convenient scape goat. She does not come across as very likable on camera. But not being likable is not a basis for a murder charge.
@@lilolmecj I agree that at face value during the hearings and trial that she seems cold and off putting due to the fact that she has offered no emotion or facial expression (except towards her attorneys), but after seeing the two interviews sheâs ever done about this case, she just seems like a normal person living a normal life with John and the kids until Jen âhow long to die in the coldâ and Matt âthe guyâ McCabe invited her to Brian âamorous butt dialâ Albertâs house. It really shows just how normal of a person she is and how something like this could happen to quite literally anyone⊠itâs kinda scary to think about.
Because they know if its not put on Karen Read , who else would people point the finger at. The people in that house, so they have to make it be Karen.
Karen appears cold, but I'm not sure she got to mourn his death. Plus, all her "friends" are out to pin this on her. I'd be looking hard and cold too.
She progressively became completely unhinged at her inability to control this situation. She kept trying to read as much of the texts ahead when handed them, to get ahead of Jackson, and kept getting flustered when he asked questions while she was trying to read them. It interrupted her thought process which is where you hear her talk about how confusing everything is to read, comprehend, and decipher. It was fascinating to watch.
She seems straight up gleeful when the prosecutorâs objections are sustained. The look on her face when it happens makes it seem like she is happy the defense didnât get to continue with his point. She obviously views the prosecutor as one of her flying monkeys. She should be asking herself why the prosecutor is sabotaging her and her buddies and allowing them to look absolutely terrible. He doesnât give a shit about her he is using her to try to win the case (and even that is questionable).
Absolutely! If youâre telling the truth it shouldnât be that exhausting.
Bingo! She was unhinged and furious that she could not control the narrative and she was ripped apart and eviscerated by the cross examination. Thoroughly impeached on the stand she has zero credibility
It would be exhausting to me if someone is making me look guilty when Iâm not. I can relate to wanting it all be very clear and not leave room for speculating.
@@Brittoezz yesâŠ.but if youâre not guilty the facts should be for you not against you
Jen correcting the defense and calling Karen "erratic" pushed me over the edge. She is trying so hard to paint a specific picture of Karen and the events instead of just answering the questions honestly
I know!! When she said Karen asked her if she had gotten her period? She became instantly unlikable.
Mean girl to the nth degree. Trying to save the day and be the one who "fixes" whatever happened to "The Guy" at the Albert's house that night.
She can't say even one nice thing can she, the hatred is palpable.
By what I felt like was the 20th time she reiterated that Karen was âscreamingâ last week, I wanted to say âput a sock in it lady!â Like who wouldnât be freaking out that their partner was dead/dying and left in a blizzard all night?? What a vile person. Sheâs making a mockery and spectacle out of a manâs death and the worst moment of Karenâs life. I would not be able to cope if I was Karen.
@@JulStar13 couldnât agree more. That boiled my blood. Just so fabricated
Iâm so gutted for her. The betrayal must be intense
Brian Albert testified that both he and his wife sleep with their phones and eyeglasses IN THE BED in case their kids call them. So Jen wants us to believe that 3 calls to them in the early morning went unanswered?? BS!!
Maybe he butt silenced both phones during his âcouple timeâ đ
The number of phone anomalies this family has is staggering. They should really have a long conversation with their phone carrier.
Side note.. the Alberts left the front door unlocked- odd
Not defending her, but you can setup DND mode with exception. Meaning you can select who's call can go thru (ie. Mom and dad) and everyone else will be blocked or silenced.
For sure tho, this two families are quite shady
They were all up way late, had been drinking and a blizzard was coming in. C'mon!
Lally has done a great job turning me to the defense. He has been the defense MVP.
I still Love Lally's quote, "There is no evidence of Anything in this case âŁïž"
At times it has seemed like he was just going through the motions or that he had better things to do
I think Lally's strategy is to confuse the jury & just give them all the evidence like a game of pick up sticks & 52 pickup & let the jury piece it together & figure out what happened - oh & his supporting attorney is willing to support Lally cause he's a good friend, but the other lawyer is not willing to ask questions or really be tied to this case.
â@@CSTeears-68 or his strategy is to remain in good condition with the police dept there by going forward with this case.
@@B_BodziakHe shouldnât put the DAâs relationship with the police above the autonomy and constitutional rights of another citizen-he *shouldnât* but it seems like he has.
I know we're here because our good friend died, but what about our harassment
Yâknow our good friend who we LOVE, who we refer to in texts as âthe guyâ cos we canât remember his name and we really couldnât be bothered with him could we?
When she retorted 'i think everybody forgets our friend died' i wanted him to reply THATS why we are all here ma'am!

â@briarrose exactly! The defense seem to care more about John O'Keefe and his death than anyone else in this motley crew of CW witnesses that claim to be his friends and to love him. Its ridiculous.
Oh my gosh Iâm glad other people noticed. The absolute petty self centered disregard for others absolutely infuriated me more than anything. âVicious harassmentâ so pathetic. You know Johnâs family is sitting right there, right Jen? Or do you only know him as: âthe guyâ đ
Jen has nuked the prosecution's case IMO. Her answer to "and you didn't see the body" was "no, I wish I had"... which is EXACTLY what her husband said to that question. And she is trying to tell me that they didn't agree on what they were going to say? Sure Jen, Suuuuure. đšđšđš
Also, Brian Sr used that same line for another question. All rehearsed!!
This family and the witnesses so far are so choreographed.. It is like synchronized swimming âŠ
I am fully convinced that at least some of them are watching the coverage and reading comments. It seems witnesses are trying hard to do things or not do things that previous witnesses have been criticized for.
The girl who claimed she saw the man-sized blob when they were leaving with the mccabes called the prosecutor Lally. Not mr lally. Not the prosecutor. Lally.
Someone thought it was weirdly familiar but I don't think this is familiar in the way a work or sports peer would use someone's last name as a nickname. She's too young and removed from him for that.
To me, that sounds like internet reference. Now, maybe it's just her talking to her friends about him online. But there have been so many little moments where the witnesses seem to be adjusting to either internet criticism or the defense lawyers comments.
I really, really, REALLY hope Dr. G Explains does some videos on Ms. Ma'am and her husband... but especially Ms. Ma'am here!
They are a tight family,if this happens within a family, its normal that they are all going to protect themselfes as any other family would do!!!!!
Okay.. I started to have real doubts about this case when the Boston cop,, when finding out there's a dead friend on his front lawn,,, never. Went. Outside.
My husband is retired LEO. Doesn't get involved in too much.. very much live and let live. Doesn't follow any of these cases I adore.
I posed the scenario to him, and asked , would you go outside??
He looked at me foolishly and snorted.. of course!!!
That's it for me. The cop, learning there's a dead friend on his lawn... Never. Went. Outside...
Only reason.... he knew.
Honestly anyone would go outside to see whatâs happening on their own lawn let along knowing a known person is outside. I absolutely believe a law enforcement would be outside for sure
Will you ask him if they would tell the 911 that the injured person on your sister's lawn is a fellow police officer? I think he would....Or would you just say "There's a man passed out in the snow."

What blows my mind is that Jen sees a dying injured man on her sisterâs front lawn, calls her sister twice and gets no answer. Knowing that they usually kept their door unlocked, the FIRST thing that would cross my mind would be to go in the house immediately and make sure my sister and her family are ok!!!!
Edit: Got my oil slick tumbler today and it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I am remodeling my house and doing all my fixtures in oil rubbed bronze and my contractor was there when I opened my tumbler. He laughed and said when I love a color story, I REALLY love it! Yep, it matches my fixtures đđ

How they haven't thrown this case out yet is beyond me. The fact that the DA went ahead is absolutely amazing.
I think they have another chance to do so after the prosecution rests, maybe? We'll see.
Good point. I've never seen a trial where every prosecution witness has been a better defence witness. At this point I don't even see what the defence will do after the prosecution rests.
Yeah, throughout most of the day, I totally forgot that it is Karen that is actually on trial. They're so far past reasonable doubt at this point, that they might as well swap some of these Alberts and McCabes into her chair.
Well, it's not costing the DA anything. Taxpayers are footing his bill. Read and her parents had to spend every dime, including their retirement savings, to pay for this. I sure hope Read gets a book or movie deal out of this and gets herself and her family financially whole.
â@@ouchiko2 I've never seen so many prosecution witnesses be so defensive in a single case.
For someone who couldn't WAIT to tell how Karen said I hit him 3 times, she certainly held it back for 2 yrs and 12 times before.
Not to mention how "it's something I will never forget" meanwhile forgetting it for 2+ years and through multiple retellings. She is despicable and in my opinion totally and completely 1000% not believable and not credible.

Omg I didn't even pick up on that. That's hilarious!
Oh my word, she is being so careful with every answer, it is coming out as very defensive. The McAlberts chose the wrong spokesperson for the family story. đŹ
Yeah, this very much felt like a defendant on the witness stand. I don't remember the exact line, but when she repeatedly said something along the lines of "We were in a state of shock" instead of answering the questions she was asked, that was the deciding moment for me. No uninvolved, innocent witness answers like that.
If you tell the truth you don't have to remind yourself about what you've testified to.
I can understand after several grand juries that these people are on the offense. I get wanting to not have words twisted, but she is soooo evasive it's off putting.
Ding ding ding
Jen McCabe said Karen Read asked if she got her period when she saw she was covered in Johnâs blood which CLEARLY makes no sense?? Then sheâs placed on a psych hold. Everyone said she was hysterical and distraught. So even assuming Karen said âI hit himâ how do I get to her being in a sound state of mind and that being a legitimate confession???
I totally agree...she obviously was hysterical. It's heart breaking.
â@@CharlieLynne-eu9dz Also, possibly more vulnerable to being pre-primed with suggestion in that state. No boundaries up, flooded with emotion.
Exactly. Even if she said, "I hit him," which I don't believe she did, it wouldn't be incriminating given the fact that she spent the whole night asking if she could have hit him and freaking out.
So true
absolute shock... if you have ever seen a dead person that you love dearly in that state you have no idea...đąđątrust me
If Karen was so irrational and frantic, to the point that she asked if the blood was her menstrual cycle, why are her statements take as anything other than someone in a near psychotic state? I'm asking from a legal sense
Right ??
It was suggested to her by Jen that the blood could have been menstrual blood.
I think you misunderstood that. Jen reported that Karen asked if the blood on her hands could have been because she got her period, and Jen said she told her no, she didn't get her period.
Thatâs what Jen wants you to believe!!!
My thoughts exactly.
Jen is so unlikable, unbelievable, and just shady I wonder what the jury thinks. I for one am exhausted by the prosecutions case at this point which may be making her more hostile to me than she actually is so I wonder how it's coming across to them
I agree. She seems like the neighborhood busybody. The one who stirs the pot and then stands back while others go at it.
đŻđŻđŻđŻ
I have heard nothing from either side. That would lead me to believe that karen did anything
It's such a shame how JM is presenting. She is going to regret this.
She was an amazing witness. The defense is ludicrous. I hope the jurors arenât intimidated by the protesters outside courthouse or online bullies.
Jen McCabe looks at the jury when she lies
And when she professes her honest nature LOL
Exactly, she always looks over to them when she knows she's saying something strange or inconsistent. They all seem so suspicious.
Yes she does. It is the "Amber Heard" manner of testifying - if I look at you I can convince you that what I'm saying is not total BS...
Amber Heard was always very deliberate about giving an affirmative answer and looking directly at the jury. It immediately makes me distrust what is being said!

Thatâs usually what most (not all) SAHM are. JM is the national enquirer of canton IMO đ€·đ»ââïž
I am so glad you said this. I hate to make assumptions and speculations before gathering all the facts about somebody, but sometimes you do get a vibe from someone when watching them for hours. She reminded me of Amber Heard where she would vehemently deny facts that are already established (police reports vs donate/pledge etc), and the way she would whip her head around to face the jury on specific points. I pegged her as the village gossip mongerer with a tendency to speak bad of others too quickly while maintaining an innocent stance , so pretty much the same as what you said, so thank you for that confirmation.
She's a Karen đ
Jen McCabe's inability to answer yes or no questions hurts my brain.
The thing that stands out the most to me is how all the McCabes and Alberts stories have evolved. There are more details now than there were in the grand jury May 2022, which had more detail than Jan 29th interview with police. Its also obvious how calm and concise neutral friends of John OKeefe were during their testimony, and how all the "family" seems to ramble and embellish and over explain everything.
She wants to talk a lot today and explain things but for the grand jury âshe wasnât askedâ
Itâs just weird when the question was âwhat did she say i front of the female EMT?â That was obviously design to elicit âI hit him, I hit him, I hit him.â The fact that it didnât makes me think that she is lying.
The source of the "story"/"evidence" is Jennifer McCabe!!!
A gossipy fibberđ€š
Also worth noting, she had chance upon chance upon chance to relay the "I hit him! I hit him! I hit him!" to the police, yet didn't. Didn't in the interviews, didn't in any occasion she saw them privately after, and didn't in the grand jury. But now 2,5 years later she wants the jury to know that she's 100% of the fact that it was said again and again and again in front of groups of police officers and groups of EMT's. And she was about as calm as movie Dumbledore when "saying" it directly to the jury.
I feel like fibber is quite gracious.
Iâll eat my hat if she didnât play a huge part in Officer OâKeefeâs murder

EDB to correct something for you, the defense tried to admit the context text, prosecution objected and Judge C upheld. So the state is the one refusing text context, not the defense. Love you! đđ
That's interesting I wonder why they objected!
Possibly hearsay. And then when the context came out, it made the defense look bad. Sounds like strategy to me.
Her answer about where Allie went when she got home was strange. "She went nowhere." It just doesn't make sense. It brings me back to her husband's testimony of, "I saw nothing." It's a deceptive answering technique. You can't see nothing, you can't go nowhere. You can't look at the car outside and not see what's in front of it as well. They're so evasive about a lot of things and it's baffling.
I agree. Them being evasive about the exact same thing, something that should be innocent if thereâs nothing to hide, feels especially sus.

This was incredibly frustrating to watch at times. It was clear that Jen McCabe was waiting to counter anything Jackson said, attempting to get ahead of him, attempting to outsmart, and it was so obvious! None of that comes off as honest, or genuine. When someone is so visibly defensive, rather than willing to hear the question and answer truthfully, you can see they're trying to control the questioning and narrative. Jen is a controlling person imo, and watching this as a "juror" at home, she is highly unlikable and not very trustworthy. Her comments about a timeline, having the facts, listening in on other people, changing up her answers repeatedly - She's a manipulator and has no credibility. Lally acts like he doesn't even want to be there. This has been bugging me, more and more. There is zero passion or enthusiasm or seeming interest whatsoever, he's just on autopilot or something. For a DA/Prosecutor who should be passionate about getting to the truth and bringing justice - He sure acts like someone who knows they shouldn't even be there. Today was something else! Very riveting.
I think Lally feels DA is putting him under the bus. Lally is so over his head. Remember Elaine from Amber Heard up against Camile Vasquez. No chance

â@@jumbolumps666 I'm sorry for whatever experience gives you that opinion. There are good ones out there, I promise.
OMG Does this woman not realize how the jury is going to perceive her? People who cannot answer yes or no and need to constantly add details and elaborate are typically not truthful! Her arguing is sinking her.
I truly wonder what John's mother thinks about this evasive answering, the failing to provide information unless she was directly asked that very specific question... I would be absolutely disgusted that she'd lied by omission and hindered the investigation, let alone suddenly changed my story... Jen has been all up in the O'Keefes business ever since, and they are now seeing a completely different person... JM is the very essence of "reasonable doubt" and now it's impossible to believe anything she's said because how do we know what is truthfully what happened... how???
That butt must have some serious skills for it to call and end the call multiple times in a row.

Jen McCabe is coming off as very untruthful. I think the judge is not calling out Jackson for his questions because of her attitude.

The Feds are investigating the investigators. They have provided exculpatory evidence to the defense and prosecution. Defense is and will be using some of that evidence in this trial to prove Karen did not hit John with her SUV. 3 PHd's hired by the feds have already confirmed John was not hit by the SUV and the SUV did not hit John. So there's that. Funny thing is, judge also has all this evidence and REFUSED to dismiss this case which is just mind blowing.
Would love to see some of the source material on this. Provided the judge has the info, it's nuts it hasn't been dismissed! đ ***Edit** Sorry if the information has already been provided and I missed it.

I'm sure they're blaming her for the backlash they've received, but from watching them testify, they all seem shady to me. They're too defensive, even with simple questions.

@mxnjones Then you're just naturally blind. I say that respectfully. How a sane person can even compare the defence's case to the trainwreck of a prosecution's case is beyond me. Have a good day.
Just a matter of time until proctor gets exposed.
@@B_Bodziak If everyone is trying to figure out the truth of what happened, then why be defensive? Jen said several times that she was trying to figure out what happened to her friend John OKeefe; how is her defensiveness helpful?
I'm very early into JM's cross... She is coming across combative, smug, and desperate to control everything. The anger in her eyes staring down the defense attorney as he asks her basic questions... it's bizarre. He hasn't asked anything hard yet, hasn't asked about what she said on the phone, etc. It's making me think of a game of arm wrestling where you waste your energy too soon.
The hard stuff has yet to come. This is a seasoned attorney. He's got all the time to wear her down, and 3 days to go over her testimony. She had 3 days to sweat it out. It highlights she's desperate to control the narrative under pressure, and is the only one insisting things went down a certain way (except her husband who I bet parrots anything she wants) -- aka, everything hinges on her testimony and she is damn aware of it. To the point everyone must be lying but her in her initial interview... This is not a good look. If this trial is happening because of this witnesses insistence that "Karen said this..." and JM can't even agree to the basic yes or no to her memory being refreshed while the jury has watched the court ritual happen with ease with everybody but her and her husband... This is weird. Concerning and weird.
Honestly, I'm getting 'Im smarter than everyone in the room' vibes from her. She loses her cool when she is caught out and asked something she hasn't got an excuse for.
She is very unlikeable⊠I hate to say that but she just is in my opinion. Off putting and I canât see how this will not impact the jury
Watch how her face changes just after 2:34:31.

@@justafan8325 THIS. She is not likable at all as a witness. Alan Jackson will wear her down quickly. He has nothing but time and patience.
Man oh man I can't wait for the outcome of the federal investigation!!!!
Seriously. I need them to get that done! I need to know the real story!
I left New York because of people like Jen McCabe
I think what's more bizarre is that the prosecutor has no evidence that Karen could even cause the injuries to John, like, was she driving backwards 120mph when she hit him lol? The guy's face was crushed, he had black eyes, bite marks on his arms, bruises, lacerations, all her car has is a broken tail light, how did all that damage happen to him from a broken tail light? He obviously got beat to death by the cops inside the home.
This is SAD. This should NOT be happening. This WHOLE trial!!!!!!!!
3:04:59 I think the part Emily is misunderstanding about why the text messages regarding news channel 4 are so sus and important to the defense is because during Matt's testimony he implied that the news crew was there specifically to harass them. But in full context (from the txt msgs) they were only in there eating and not there for a story from them.
Julie says News Channel 4 is at the pizza place and then Matt responds with "Eating I assume, ask Chris to ask some questions tell them the guy never went into the house."
They approached the news crew not the other way around. I believe it was because they wanted to get their narrative out there. Which is completely suspicious because it was only a day or so after John was found so why would they need to get that narrative out there if they had nothing to do with his John's death and it seems at that point nobody had even suspected any foul play from the Albert's.
Oh yes. That is deely suspicious.
IMO JM's whole tone, facial expressions, and body language speaks volumes to her NOT being honest. Anybody that has absolutely nothing to hide wouldn't be getting SO defensive. To say that she considered Karen & John "friends" I'm frightened for how she would treat an enemy!!!!
AND JM wasn't being this difficult to get a straight answer on Friday with Lally!!!!!!!!!
I think nobody ever questioned their stories or gossips. They just said whatever they wanted. And now these bloody lawyers try to make them look bad, and question their narrative.

Karen choose poor friends. I have never seen such a collection of witnesses that I have despised so much. Everyone is either conveniently forgetful, deliberately obtuse or just argumentative about the questions.

Re-play here. As a sit at home juror, she strikes me as "The School Bully" it is my way or no way. If you tell the truth, with a tradegy like this, you would remember. If JO was really a friend, she would have gone outside to see why they were not coming in. If I remember, I believe that the driver of the truck said the Jeep was there. When she says she talked to no one tonight, IMO will be a lie. See everyone Wed.

I have watched a lot of The Behavior Panel, and one common thing they point out in interrogations when people are lying, they are desperate to know what the police know before they answer questions. Why do I get the sense from Jen McCabe that she wasnât really âfriendsâ with John OâKeefe? She comes off super disconnected almost as if she hates the guy, or never liked him, one of those two đ€·đ»ââïž
Most of them have come off as though they didn't care for him. It makes me wonder if they had talked about him and what they'd like to do to him and saw their chance when he walked into the house alone. It's just totally unbelievable that detectives wouldn't process the inside of the home when a dead man was found just outside.
Really? I thought her over interest in him was because she had the hots for him and she is spitting bile that Karen Read got him.
She doesnât seem to stop slagging Kerry Roberts either about being a talker
Interesting, I had the complete opposite impression. She seems to have a had a thing for him. Calling and texting him over and over, even private conversations before he was killed. She never once communicated with KR, only JO. And she said she loved him. This testimony made me think she may not know what happened, but she indeed is going along with anything to cast blame on KR, because to me, she seems to really hate KR.
It is possible he was being set up and thatâs why she was obsessively texting him (trying to control the narrative) she has exhibited very controlling behavior in her testimony after the incident.
Also itâs possible she did like him or they were friends but in order to distance herself from his murder, the whole gang has turned on him and she is perhaps married to one of the perps.
Does anyone know if Brian Higgins jeep was rehomed?
I cannot imagine sleeping through anyone screaming like that in my front yard. Also, for the short term calls:

Can Jen just ANSWER the questions??? Yes/No is NOT hard to say! Iâm behind a lil bit but this chic is avoiding and darting questions every chance she can. And asking questions for herself that takes balls!
Yeah, same. For me, it highlights how controlling she is. Also, she seems so insincere when she goes on about âlosing a friend she lovedâ in reference to John.
