Guess i must have missed it, I've gone back through and still can't find what variety of cucumber that is. Can you please tell me what variety you planted?
I've had a great cucumber harvest too. I put my excess cucumbers in the fridge. On hot days, I split them down the middle and give them to my chickens. They love cucumber popsices.
I love the beit alpha cucumber. I make fridge pickles to snack on and serve them at each meal. We got so many it is crazy good.
You make me smile!! Those cukes are awesome. Just moved this year to a 55+ community and won’t have a garden. The wait for garden plots is 2 years!!! I guess I’ll be doing my potted cucumber plants until I can get a garden plot!!!
Gotta love those Cucumbers! I just finished canning 3 lbs of Japanese Long cucumbers and 2 large yellow onions into 5 pints of bread & butter pickles 🌳✌😁🌳
My mom used to slice up sweet onions and cucumbers and garlic and mix them with viniger and olive oil and put them on the table for lunch and cottage cheese with olives . It was one of my favorite summer lunches that came right from our back yard garden .
Did my heart good to see you with that tomato. It was good to see that I'm not the only one who laughs at my own silliness.
As kids, well adults now, we would walk through the garden and pick cucumbers and cherry tomatoes and have a snack when we were outside. Nothing beats a handful of cherry tomatoes fresh from the vine.
Cucumbers are one of my absolute favorites! I eat at least one every single day! 💚
I have so missed your videos, so glad you are back. I'm just starting to get cucumbers from mine. I hope you show your canning of them because I just learned how to can last month and since I'm the only one in my home that likes cucumbers...and I love pickles...I will need to be able to put some away.
This fall at close of season put aged alfalfa hay (old free hay) and cow poo a foot deep. Will protect soil from freezing and protect an build good microbs.
I love watching you grow your garden and work your homestead! Love your positive attitude.
Young lady you just make my day-I don’t know your background in singing but I would love to get a CD if you have one- love your comment of eating the cucumber before the rabbit gets it- what is the name of the dukes from a Baker Creek❤️
I enjoyed your video. It took me back to growing up with mom and dad. In my senior years I have left that is my goal. To grow fresh vegetables and flowers. You are so blessed.
I had to laugh when you said "yes, it has some dirt on it." ... it made me think of my thirtysomething nephew when he was a little boy & he was at my mama's ... he would come in from playing & my mama would tease him about how dirty he was, he would say to her "God made dirt, dirt don't hurt!!" !!! Thank you for that little memory popping into my head!!
Hey cutie pie: that’s a great haul of cucumbers. Can’t wait to watch you can them! Patara, would a golf cart or four wheeler help you and your husband on the homestead? I know how hard you both work, and when I saw you carrying the heavy load of cucumbers and your husband driving down the hill, it just seemed like a good investment! What do you think? ❤️❤️❤️
Girl! You are a hoot!!! I learn so much from your videos, but I love the laughs as well!
So glad that you are back!!
Patera get you a lil red wagon for your bounty and save your back some. Love your videos! 💕
I just learned this week that if you plant sunflowers in a cucumber plants area, your cucumber s will be sweeter. Pat from Oregon.
Yummy!!
I haven't harvested a lot of cukes yet, but I am canning like crazy because of my zucchini harvest!!
I have memories of eating tomatoes from the garden when I was a little girl. My grandparents had fields of them and sold them to the Heinz plant nearby. That's the best way to eat them, you are a lucky duck.
I wish I lived next door to you guys. You are awesome people!
My snack at night while I watch videos is cucumbers with bacon ranch salad dressing, yummy!
Look at all those blooms! Oh my you are so blessed sister.
Woo hoo!! You go go cucumbers!!! Just a busy bee you are!! I'm glad things got growing for y'all!!
LOL I do the same while picking my cucumbers. It’s like a drive through for me. Wipe off the dirt, and enjoy. So yummy. It’s mid September, and I’m still picking cucumbers. (And yellow squash.)Not many, they’ve almost had it.
I don’t do pickled eggs either. Another story for hot pickled okra though. I’ve canned 28 jars of it. I’ve given away several, I just wished they would save the jars for me. ☹️
I always dehydrate some and powder them in food processor and use in salad dressings, and smoothies.
What a wonderful harvest of cucumbers. I would love to try a smooth variety of cucumber. What variety of cucumber is it?
Second time I have watched about beit alpha. It really produces a lot. Happy planting ang happy gardening to all!
We have cucumbers coming out of our ears too!! Thank you so much for sharing! 😋🌽🌽
You are so crazy!! I laughed and laughed at all your faces!! You are blessed in cucumbers Lady!
You're so funny! I laughed out loud when you put the cherry tomatoe in your mouth😂Such a great harvest, so happy to see you back sweetie❤🙏🙏❤❤
I've got purple basil and regular from baker creek. I saved seeds straight eights I think I used this year for my cucumbers. And I save yellow and white tomatoe seeds. I save my own okra seeds and pumpkin. Both were huge bounty last year.My pumpkins were squash dickensian pumpkin. And I grew 17 of those - Baker creek and they were excellent. I just use my chickens manure and a little organic fertilizer.
I have ordered from Baker Creek and love them!! But you didn't mention what heirloom variety they are? Marketmore? Ancash??
She left a link in the description guys Biet alpha cukes from bakers creek
Just ordered mine. I haven't had great success with cucumbers before so I'll try these.
Bread and butter pickles on the little bigger cucumbers are good. Yum!!
Whoo hoo! Love love love your channel!
Glad you got such a good haul! Manure makes a huge difference. I top my beds off every winter with compost and manure.
Lots of beautiful cukes! Pickles galore!
Good Grief! I cannot even get mine in the ground for another week. The nights are still very cool here in NW NM.
We are having a great cucumber year as well, so far I have picked over 49lbs of them since I started weighing. Our cucumbers are slicing type, that is the only plants I could find so late. I also picked over 6lbs of green beans last night. That was two of six 40’ rows.
WOW !!! Thats a mighty fine harvest !! Cant wait to see your Three Sisters garden !!!
You are so blessed! Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!
I am going to order those for next year. I was not impressed with our yield his year from the starter plants we got. Patara, since you recently started a new garden at the new place would you upload a video tour showing how and where you planted everything? We just fenced off an area for our garden, but we started a lot of it in buckets this year just so we get an idea of where we want to plant things next year. I would appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing Just purchased my seeds 🎉🎉
You need a little red wagon with you to haul in your bounty of veggies & fruits lol!
I love your garden.
That tomato snort...hit that subscribe button instantly!
Mine keep getting attacked with cucumber beetles no matter what I try. I found a good trap crop though. Amaranth seems to attract the bugs away for some time at least. Going to plant a spot away from the garden too see if they pull them away the garden.
You make me miss home. I almost cried.
This video is new to me - thank you for posting it today, Patara (or YT). 😀
But I think we all need to face it - it's now time to clone Patara. There is so much going on that one Patara cannot do 48 hours per day of assisting us. I don't know how to clone somebody, and I'm NOT even in favor of cloning, but I think it's gotta be done.
Feedback note from out here (in Omaha), in May 2023: I've been having groceries delivered most of the time for the past month or so. Some of my shopping trips were getting too freaky for me. Delivery costs more, but I feel so much safer, plus I buy fewer impulse purchases. And prices are going up on all of that, of course.
And today Aldi's offered a discount (was it $2 maybe?) if I would come pick up my groceries.
I hadn't seen the pickup incentive before. The customer says DELIVERY and the website says, WILL YOU COME PICK THEM UP IF WE PAY YOU $2?
Or they give you $2 if you have delivery around dinnertime.
So I assume they probably don't have enough quality shoppers & drivers during their peak delivery hours,
and/or more & more customers are ordering their groceries delivered.
Also, no, I don't shop at Target & I don't buy or drink beer.
Oh yay! I just put some of these in the ground. I haven't tried them before. Last year I tried a pickle bush variety. It grew so fast and was covered up with blossoms, but I got terrible bugs all of a sudden and they ruined everything.
You always put a smile on my face. Love ya
Oh boy those look SO good. I love cucumbers so much. I wish I could grow some but I don't have the space or the health to do it. When I saw you eat one my mouth was watering! Enjoy them!
Awesome harvest!! I wish I lived in your planting zone!!
I love Bakers Creek Seeds. I try to go there once a year.
I eat straight from my garden too. That dirt is no where near as bad as what is on store bought veggies. I love Baker Creek seeds too
Yum! What an abundance. Enjoy!
Wonderful harvest 🌞
Got cukes! Take care.
What variety are they? I only heard heirloom from baker creek.
That’s a bunch of cucumbers!!
Hi Patara, I love your channel! Are those the Beit Alpha cucumbers that you have mentioned before?
Yes they are!
A little dirt is good for you and me too. I will share this video.
OAG

😁🤲 praying for my garden to be good this year
Im not a big pickled egg fan either. You got a great turn for your cucumbers!
I love letting them get a tad bigger because I juice everyday I can lol
Hey Patera! I need your pickle canning recipe. I've never tried to can pickles and want a good one..we love pickles ❤️ You're right, Beit Alpha are the best cucumbers, been growing them for years.

Hmmm don’t see the link to Baker Creek cucumbers you were talking about???
Welcome back patara.
Beautiful harvest!!
What soil do you use? From what it looks like you dont use raised beds. Do you just plant your directly in the ground? Love your videos!
Such a blessing
it is so good to see you back
Wow amazing. 🥒🥕🙌🏻😋
Nice to see you got to go “out for lunch” today. What tastes better than a sun warm tomato straight eaten in the garden??? (Well, maybe sun warm strawberries...) isn’t it great to go out there and pick and eat and know there’s no pesticides that need washed off first?!??
Those big cucumbers are perfect for making Christmas cucumber rings. Just a FYI
Love that song
Don't forget the recipe for creamy cold cucumber soup!
Thanks for sharing
